New image?
The current infobox image was taken in 2011. Since the appearance of the rapper has changed during the past decade (having long hair), it is reasonable to update the infobox image to a more recent one. Windywendi (talk) 02:38, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
He looks almost the same with either (long or short hair/bald). Jay is recognizable is not his hair. Its probably his face shape. So I think we shouldn't change the picture. Not to mention the fact that he has barely aged since then, and also the hassle of finding a copyright free picture from recently. Rateb4isik (talk) 19:38, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sad State of Affairs
I think it is very sad that articles of important and crucial figures in the Hip Hop community are not rated highly enough. I think we should have a renewed push to rewrite articles of importance to the culture, especially this page. I am currently making my first effort with the Benny The Butcher Page, and am astounded that there isn't even a page dedicated to 'The Plugs I Met'. hopefully we can get together, all interested, and make a concerted effort. A. it is WP:SYNTH to include R Kelley's convictions in the biography of Jay-Z, b. it is irrelevant to the album as he was not convicted at the time, and c. we have a wikilink that takes you to an article that details R. Kelley's criminal convictions. nableezy - 18:43, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is his identifier. He is a convicted sex trafficker with crimes predating decades. Hence he was a sex trafficker at the time the albums were recorded. In the edit history of this article, you tried to establish a new precedent to remove an identifier for this one particular individual, stating that identifiers of other individuals has no relevance to Jay-Z, especially if they have their own articles with all their relevant details. When that same precedent was used to removed identifiers for other individuals you reverted. The is a clear violation of WP:OWN. Moreover, solely removing an identifier for a controversial collaborator of Jay-Z is a violation of WP:NPOV. All identifiers, for everyone including R Kelly, have now been reinstated. Thanks.
