Change "three centuries" phrase in intro

The text currently says that the British ruled Kolkata for three centuries following 1757, meaning until 2057. "Nearly two centuries" would be better 104.13.59.103 (talk) 05:20, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The GDP mentioned about Kolkata on kolata's Wikipedia page are earlier figures and the site also described Kolkata area as 4888 sq.km, but the actual size is 4888 sq.km, so it misses some important areas to Cound. The 150 billion USD figure has shown in different sites for several years. The actual figure was 150 billion USD(PPP) in 2017. Please give permission for edit. Some Infobox Pictures Need to be Updated

The present skyline image of Kolkata and the picture depicting the CBD of the city need to be updated with the new ones, which have been recently uploaded in Commons. The earlier ones are quite old pictures, and huge changes have occured since then.

The new skyline picture (File:Kolkata metropolitan skyline.jpg) which was uploaded recently is quite aesthetic and covers the entire cityscape of Kolkata from the western end of the city through Vidyasagar Setu via a drone shot. Another one, which demonstrates the Central Business District of Kolkata (File: Calcutta CBD-Skyline.jpg) is also quite similar which was uploaded recently.

Request consensus with others regarding this, to update these pictures.

Support: The current skyline has nothing compared to the File:Kolkata metropolitan skyline.jpg. This almost covers all of Kolkata with s gigantic view. 2ndly the CBD picture must be updated. The current CBD picture even do not contain the 42 because it is old. So File:Calcutta CBD-Skyline.jpg is perfect for that. Along with this we must give some pics of Eastern Metropolitan Bypass because that is one of the high commercial and residential area of Kol. AnkurPl 03:26, 7 January 2024 (UTC)st[reply]
@Rourib.2004:no Disagree, we should avoid night pictures as the colors of the actual view is not that. Also the picture you provided, doesn't depict the image of vidyasagar setu and Victoria and other buildings clearly, because it is taken from a large distance comparing to the day version. Though, we can change the CBD image, but we have to keep in mind that the picture has to be clear, not foggy and also beautiful to see. Ku423winz1 (talk) 05:43, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agree: The pictures should be updated, per AnkurPI explanation. Vijaydanny
