Is it really necessary to include that her husband was bisexual?

It's well-known that he was under pressure to make a respectable marriage, because of the stories circulating about his private life. Valetude (talk) 00:15, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Had interest in Horoscopes

I have a letter from her Lady-in-waiting thanking my great grand mother for her horoscope. Roy Hurlstone

Wedding first known meeting of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip

Her wedding is the first recorded meeting of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip (as Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip) (stated in numerous biographies). I say 'first known' as in Gyles Brandreth's book 'Philip - the Final Portrait' Philp infers he and the Queen probably met before, but neither he nor the Queen could remember. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C6:D000:1C01:D39:4EA1:4CCE:FB50 (talk) 14:03, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Post-niminal letters

According to the photo I took few das ago (see right), post-nominal letters should follow her name.--Clithering 10:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, yes. Well, whilst she *has* post-nominal letters, they're not part of her name, so the BRoy Style guide omits them from the opening paragraph, in favour of listing them later (under Honours). If you feel that this is wrong, please do discuss. Cheers – DBD 14:45, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unofficial move proposal

This page should be at Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark because the current title creates inconsistency with other foreign princesses who became British royal duchesses (Princess Frederica Charlotte of Prussia, Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld - another Duchess of Kent, Princess Augusta of Hesse-Cassel, Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia, Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia, Princess Helena of Waldeck and Pyrmont, etc). I am not against putting titles gained by marriage in the title of article, but we should use her birth title for the sake of consistency. Surtsicna (talk) 22:31, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark is a redirect here, and therefore not ambiguous, I'd support this move per the guidelines DBD 00:26, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Morhange (talk) 07:25, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Princess Marina's religion

I'm curious: did Princess Marina convert to Protestantism upon marriage to a Protestant prince or did she remain Eastern Orthodox for the rest of her life? Surtsicna (talk) 21:01, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Admiral?

I see nothing in the article that suggests she actually held an admiral's rank, as opposed to a strictly honorary position. Mangoe (talk) 21:25, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

She's wearing an admiral's uniform in one of the pictures. Celia Homeford (talk) 12:17, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps so, but the article on the WRENs says that someone else was the director/commandant at the time this picture was taken. Evidence suggests that her position was strictly honorary. Mangoe (talk) 17:54, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Duchess of Kent was Commandant WRNS (equivalent to Rear-Admiral) from 1940 ("No. 34810". The London Gazette. 12 March 1940. p. 1470.). In 1951 the Director WRNS (equivalent to Commodore) was re-titled as Commandant, and the Duchess of Kent was given the title Chief Commandant ("No. 39215". The London Gazette. 27 April 1951. p. 2389.). Opera hat (talk) 11:30, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Burke":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:04, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Translated by Google as: Princess Marina was beautiful and elegant. If you changed the profile picture to a new picture, it would be better.

I 100% agree. The image is not great. She was one of the most fashionable royals. There are so many gorgeous photos of her in tiaras & without tiaras. Could we do better? Lady Meg (talk) 09:16, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

“Carl Theodor, Count…” leads to incorrect page ObserverGroup (talk) 11:30, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It links to Duchess Sophie Adelheid in Bavaria#Marriage and issue, which is a reasonably place to link. Celia Homeford (talk) 13:12, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
