In the Book of Mormon, Angola (/ænˈɡoʊlə/)[1] is a Nephite city near or in the north of Nephite territory. It was the site of a portion of the long and final battle between the Nephites and the Lamanites.
The city is identified in Mormon 2:4. The Nephites retreat toward the north, coming to Angola and fortifying the city, but are ultimately unable to withstand the Lamanites' attacks and are driven from the city.[2]
