Misc

I think it is worth mentioning in the article, how knuckles reacts to sonic's death in the new game. even though he is not a very emotional character, but he shows obvious distress at his death. He is also one of the happiest characters when sonic is saved. When Amy says she will save it him, Knuckles does a sort of weird heel kicking dance, and when sonic transforms, knuckles can be seen leaping into the air with glee.

Knuckles pic

Does anyone have a pic of Knuckles from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)? Just wondering, cause the pic from Shadow the Hedgehog probably needs to be replaced. It seems kinda old, considering just about every other character in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) has had their new pics put up. BlackEDGE MkII 00:49, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We might get one tomorrow if there's another site updateGrandMasterGalvatron 21:22, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, I agree that we should use his art from the new Sonic the Hedgehog, but the only place where I've seen it is at the official American site for the game.

I think just 'bout everyone has forgotten 'bout this topic. BlackEDGE MkII 21:41, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They probobly won't update Knuckles' picture on the JPN site until the game comes out. That's what I'm guessing, at least. Emerald__Storm 23:14, 5 December (UTC)

All right, Grandmastergalvatron! DeathGodDragon EDGE 02:05, 9 December 2006 (UTC) Knuckles looks kind of like Sinbad in one of the photos.[reply]

Why?

So I added Sonic 3D Blast to the list of games in which Knuckles plays a minor part in the plot and it was instantly deleted! Why? He can be seen hanging around every level and he takes you to a special stage when you go up to him with 50 rings! If that doesn't count as an appearance, I don't know what does. - Davros27

Yeah I remember seeing Knuckles in that game. staceeSHAW 00:18, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wait....

If the Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 game) article uses the newest Knuckles pic, then why doesn't this article use it as well? (I am the same guy who asked about the pic earlier, BlackEDGE MkII.) Aguni Dragon-OX 02:31, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The picture of him in Shadow should be further down the list when it appears. Also, I have a question: on the note of games, are we going to/should we elaborate as to Knuckles' role in the games? Knuckles sonic8 21:41, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The regular size one has yet to be released. All we have is a small version. When a normal size one is out, it will be used.GrandMasterGalvatron 22:01, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, I have a question. On the Sonic the Hedgehog (2006 game) article it has a picture of all the characters. Whenever I click on Knuckles's picture, it turnes out small, but when I click on everyone elses picture they all turn out bigger. Emerald__Storm 19:53, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At least we have the Sonic 2006 pic, but it seems fuzzy. Does anyone have a high res or less fuzzy pic? Aguni Dragon-OX 22:43, 28 November 2006 (UTC) Thats odd i've never seen a fuzzy wikipedia pic.[reply]

Fleetway Storyline

I think there's room for major improvement under that heading. I know nothing about Knuckles, so I can't really help, but I would suggest focusing on facts relevant to "the modern day Knuckles" rather than on nuances of history. Certainly, it would be good to remove most of the analysis and interpretation. This is not some sort of "OMG ASPERGER'S THIS PAGE IS SO DAMN LONG" comment. Actually, it's just that any page reads much better when it's to-the-point and doesn't daze the reader with randomness. Long rambling text blocks often get skipped over, or skimmed with little comprehension. --GenkiNeko 16:09, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion. Perhaps, given the length of this section, the segmet in question ought to be switched to it's own page. If Archie Knuckles gets a page of its own, perhaps that alone merits doing the same for STC Knuckles. It could make the pages more manageable. Captain Smeg 18:36, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Knuckles the Ninja Echidna

I just have to ask. What wide variety of martial arts is this most capable creature skilled in? --GenkiNeko 16:12, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Judging from his gloves, I would think it was a form of freestyle boxing. Either way, he's definately been shown to have the most experience in fighting with his hands. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.62.65.92 (talk) 21:04, 11 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

On the history of the earth I never saw Mike Tyson ,or Muhammad Ali with spikes on their gloves That would be because it would be illiegal in stage boxing. They're kinda like knuckledusters.

Knux never was trained in any martial art, but they way he fights could be based from boxing. The only time he was ever trained in any martial arts was in the Kunckles the Echidna prototype comic were he was trained in a fighting style by monkey khan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.41.76.19 (talk) 01:01, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Knuckles;s owen game?

Not going to happen. I highly, highly doubt it. Where did you hear this rumor from, anyway? Seriously, if that happens, I think people would be pissed more than anything else--considering how Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog turned out. I'll keep my eye out for it, anyway, but I doubt it will occur. Heh, TSS announced a Knuckles game for DS, once. It was a hoax, though, of course, made for April Fool's Day. --Ultima 20:37, 14 December 2006 (UTC) i've never heard of TSS I doubt this is gonna be a real game. Where did you hear this on, a forum? Trivia

Should we mention that Knuckles was originally going to be green? I cant remember where I read it but I'll see if I can find it. Is Knuckles an antagonist?

I thought that Knuckles was the main antagonist to Sonic.

Not Since Sonic and Knuckles apparently... he's now more like just a friendly rival. --Zikar 02:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Knuckles wasn't ever really an antagonist, just an anti-hero. Since becoming friends with Sonic, he has become a rival..although he appears to have descended into the realm of the sidekick. User:Denjo

Nah, Knux was just misguided by Eggman. Him and Sonic are friendly rivals. ChromeWulf ZX 22:42, 19 January 2007 (UTC) I Agree[reply]

Relevance of section

Actually, this is an issue I have with ALL of the Sonic articles, I'm just using Knuckles as my scapegoat because it's convenient at this time. (READ: I was in his article)

About the "relationships" sections: honestly, who the hell cares? Why is it important that the love life of said fictional character be documented anywhere outside of an official series website, an in-universe Sonic Wiki, or a fansite? Again, I'm not just picking on Knuckles, I got this issue with everyone (though admittedly, Sonic's is documented the best). The Rouge battles got me thinking that the entire staple of Sonic Character articles is majorly fancrufty...including Sonic's. (though once again, his is less notable). I think all of the character articles are in need of some major retooling..especially Sonic's, which is ridiculously long and could do with being split up into several articles.

As far as this site goes, more focus should be put on the characters' relevance to the media overall. The super transformation article is a prime example of how this can be done, even with its structural faults). It's very much to the point about the feature, and the various gameplay niggles associated with it. As per wiki standards, there needs to be less of writing like the characters are real. The point needs to be driven home that these are fictional characters as opposed to actual creatures. Game characters need to have their relevance to the games they're in highlighted, and cartoon characters should focus on their role in the series overall. The lengthier articles should go to characters who appear in both forms, but not enough to warrant splitting like Sonic, Knuckles and the super modes.

As the first step towards this, I think the whole relationships deal has got to go. It's been nothing but a breeding ground for shippers.

I want to discuss all of this here if possible, and gather other opinions on it.

That said, there really needs to be an in-universe Sonic Wiki.GrandMasterGalvatron 00:38, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Sonic Wiki would probably be the best way to shorten the articles of fancruft, yes... Hell, we could probably remove entire articles such as Little Planet or Mystic Ruins from Wikipedia then. Gurko 08:59, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PLEASE LISTEN UP! I got it, and I won't break any rules, I swear. But please, make the text visible, OK? I am the hugest lover of the KNUXRouge couple in the entire universe, and it means a lot to me. Thank you very much!!!!!!!!! Tommy55 I BEG YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!!!! PLEASE MAKE THE TEXT VISIBLE!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! I DODN'T KNOW THAT IT IS RULE-BREAKING, CUZ I DIDN'T READ YOUR MESSAGES UNTIL TODAY! PLEASE !!! I BEG U!!!!!!!!!

That is exactly why it must go. It's breeding ground for couple shippers. Just because you like Knuckles/Rouge doesn't make it an actual couple. To give you an example of the effects your edits have on others, I like Shadow/Rouge, and Knuckles/Julie-Su. Do you think taking out Shadow's section like you have done would please someone like me? Especially when the latter has become way more prominent than the former. The section as a whole is relevant to only a small minority of people and would be seen as trivial to most. Unless you could provide a valid reason why the love lives of these characters is worth documenting in a general knowledge encyclopedia, then it's got to go.

Also, I'd recommend starting a Knuckles/Rouge fansite, or joining a deviantArt club :)GrandMasterGalvatron 22:00, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PLEAS READ THIS!!!! here is my reason: It is isn't just fan-stuff. I can understand you, and please excuse me. But it IS a relationship! We can't just delete the whole section! If it would be just fan-stuff, I would totally agree with you. But is has been officially confirmed by Sega, that Rouge has a crush on him! Really! It isn't nonsense! Please look at sonic Channel, 4kids tv, or sonic Central! I beg you, please make it visible! It IS official!!! PLEASE! And sorry for breaking-rules, I didn't know that I did so. Please! Please!!!IT ISN'T JUST SPECULATION!!! I BEG YOU!!!

I already joined that deviantart group :P

Having a crush doesn't make a romantic relationship. A romantic relationship would involve two parties who both have feelings toward each other. Officially, Knuckles's feelings towards Rouge are unknown. You can interpret what happens in the games all you want, but it's been left very ambiguous. That means that saying that he likes her is speculation at most. Something I'd personally like to know are your reasons for deleting the entire sections on Shadow and Rouge's connection or whatever.

Now the thing is, I'm against the section as a whole, regardless of the characters involved. It just doesn't seem that important to be somehwere like here.GrandMasterGalvatron 16:48, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR LEAVING THE TEXT UP! I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL!!! THANK YOU! I OWE YOU! I WON'T FORGET THIS!!!!!!!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me, but I did not restore the text...and I've hidden it again, this is far from over. Also you haven't told me why you've been blanking the data on Shadow.GrandMasterGalvatron 18:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HELLO! I see. I can't tell you anything but I beg you. And I deleted the section because it was annoying that some people modify or delete TRUE things from KNUCKLES' section, so it was some kind of revenge. SORRY!!!! I won't break any rules, I swear!!! How can I make you understand? ( this sounds like Tikal in Adventure...:P) So, please!!!! Tommy

It IS OFFICIAL and TRUE. It ISN'T just speculation. It isn't just present in sonic X: sonic Central and sonic Channel (which are related to the games) ALSO mention Rouge's feelings, not only the anime. And we should keep it even if only the anime would mention it, but the games mention it too, so we can't just delete the whole stuff!!!!

NO. Knuckles doesn't like Rouge that way. AT ALL. The section as a whole is nothing but a breeding ground for fanboys and shippers, and you've shown that so well. Also, quit deleting things about Shadow! Lastly, Knuckles is number THREE in the character list. Not 1st, but THIRD. Shadow is first, and Metal Sonic is second. Why don't you take a moment to look at the reference cited. No amount of fanboyism on your part is going to change that, and it won't change what lies between Shadow and Rouge. Stop deleting it just because you don't like it. Rouge and Knuckles have a rivalry and nothing more. That's been made evident ever since Heroes. Also, Sonic Rivals has made it evident that whatever the feelings are between Shadow and Rouge (we still don't know the extent) are mutual. The dead giveaway to that being that he said the Rouge card (which had her imprisoned) was his. That's OFFICIAL and TRUE (as you like to say).

If you want this section to stay, you've got to convince me that it would actually matter to anyone not a Sonic fan. The common GTA player doesn't give a slag about Knuckles's love life. As such, it doesn't need to be on this general knowledge encyclopedia.

Actually, think about that. Would you expect to open a copy of the Encyclopedia Britannica and find things about Knuckles and Rouge? Hell, do you even expect to find Knuckles in there? That's how much it doesn't matter. If this were a Sonic wiki, then it'd be all good. Actually, there IS a Sonic Wiki now that I think of it, it's called Sonic Retro. Go on and find it, and post all this stuff there.GrandMasterGalvatron 22:29, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, heres my two cents. Regardless if Knux like Rouge or not, relashinships are an important thing to know about a person if you really want to know about that person and/or charecter. And, correct me if im wrong, thats what wiki's for correct? But heres where your wrong. You say that these articles are just for common knowledge about the charecter right? Well this does qualify as common knowledge for it not only covers Knuxes love life, but his relationships with all charecters. Like it talks about his common rivalry with Sonic also. But if it said "Kuckles possible love intrests" then you would be right. But it merly states his feelings for charecters that have taken part in his storyline. Theres no real fanboyism taken part in that section. And it IS true that Rouge likes Kunx just that he dosent feel the same. So there you go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.41.76.19 (talk) 06:47, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

What is your source for this? Fictional characters do not necessarily age according to the real life passage of time. Recent instruction manuals' bios and the Sonic Channel bio for Knuckles say he is 16. Cigraphix 13:25, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That was just a typo! Knuckles is 18! IM SICK OF CORRECTING THIS!

What typo? Are you saying that every bio, in numerous manuals and also Sonic Channel, has had the same exact typo? These characters do not age. Bart Simpson has stayed the same 10 year old kid for just short of 20 years. So how is a 10 year old kid also almost 20 years old? He doesn't age. The only way these characters change their age is if it is changed by Sonic Team. So where does Sonic Team say their ages changed to what you say they are now? Cigraphix 05:16, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Knuckles is 16 on Sonic Channel TV Series and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle debut. He is now 18 on the Sonic Adventure TV Series! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.176.13.196 (talk) 14:50, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

What Sonic Channel TV series? What Sonic Adventure TV series? Sonic Channel is a website [1]. The only TV series to be based on Sonic Adventure is Sonic X (and is offically endorsed by Sega/Sonic Team despite being seperate from the games). Sonic X and Sonic Team's games have all said 16. Fan made fiction is not a source, only material from Sega and Sonic Team is. Stop changing the ages of the characters to something that disagrees with Sonic Channel and the offical Sonic games. Not according to standard plot guidelines. Although consistency is what's most important, in my opinion. Present tense is the standard for plotlines. You can edit it if you like... it will probably take me a while to get to it, if I ever do. Paul Haymon 00:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Emerald Jumble

About the Sonic the Comic Section, if it was the strip I think it is, it went something like this: Knuckles: Before you destroy us all, there's something I'd like you to see. Robotnik: The Grey Emerald!? I thought you said it was destroyed! Knuckles: I lied, sorry about that. As you know, the Grey Emerald controls all the others.

The Grey Emerald served as the Master Emerald before the latter was introduced.

Sonic vs Knuckles

Their rivalry hasn't been played up as much in recent times. It still exists as evidenced in Battle and Rivals, but it doesn't seem as bad as it was in Adventure 1. And since other rivals (like Eggman and Shadow) do not have similar sections, why doesn't this section get merged into the character interactions section? Cigraphix 18:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's probably because their rivalry (for the most part) has subdued into friendship. ChromeWulf ZX 01:54, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

bro, knuckles is hot pink when he transform. look it up on wikipedia. type in super knuckles/hyper knuckles for your information. Allen Jackson

It says he's red with a pink/yellow aura. Maybe you should read the page sometime. :PGrandMasterGalvatron 10:00, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joe....What in god's name are you smoking?--Neofcon 03:45, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tell you what nice guy, im just telling you what knuckles can do. now, if you can tell me that knuckles cant do chaos control, prove it.from joe hewitt

Tell you what nice dude, you list all the games where Super Knuckles can perform Chaos Control and i'll buy it. Also note he only appears in a total of two games--Neofcon 20:18, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tell yooou what dude, it is possible that he can use the choas control. because, it says in knuckles article he is a living chaos emeralds. oh, give me some time to look up those games you ask me about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.235.213.98 (talk) 20:32, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That gives me a good excuse to edit that out, because it's not at all true.

EDIT: Even better, it's nowhere IN the article! :P --Neofcon 23:37, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Grandmastergalvatron... I here what you saying. but if you played Knuckles&sonic2 then you would have known that knuckles's superform is hot pink not with a aura. oh, in for your information, if knuckles form has a aura than sonic team change it to that.Allen jackson —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.235.213.98 (talk) 20:12, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did play that game thank you very much. I also played S3K where he looks the exact same. In the one official image of him in the game, he is red with a pink aura.GrandMasterGalvatron (talk) 03:41, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Grandmastergalvatronn is right, when you beat S3&K, in the save area, if we complete with only the 7 Chaos Emeralds, the Ending Save screen features an image of Super Knuckles, where he is red with a pink aura. User:Super Knuckles 7:42, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Citation

Now what exactly needs to be cited for "additional verification"? The sources are plain enough. This seems to me a question of WP:When to Cite; particularly, there appears to be a concerted effort by some on the encyclopedia to "game the system" by requesting a cite for everything, even single sentences, [i]whether or not[/i] the requester is familiar with the material. (this is a violation of WP:When to Cite.)

So to say, it is not the burden of the editor to offer cites for every single detail mentioned in the wiki, as is explicitly stated in WP:When to Cite. Such an endevor would be waste of time.

Four sources is enough. No one else seems to have a problem with the article's sourcing, except for this (growing) oligarchic movement. I advise that the verification tag be removed; or at least, that the people in support of the tag/further citations offer specific rationale of their own for questioning the content.
