Error reports
Please only post error reports regarding what is currently on the main page or on Main Page/Tomorrow here.

Main page error reports

To report an error you have noticed on the current main page or tomorrow's main page please add it to the appropriate section below. You can do this by pressing the [edit] button to the right of the appropriate section's heading. Also, please sign your post using four tildes (~~~~)

Note that the current date and time are in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which may not coincide with your local time zone. The next day's featured article of the day, picture of the day, and anniversaries update at midnight (00:00) according to UTC. The current time is 15:37 on October 11, 2024 (UTC). (Update)

Once an error has been fixed, the error report will be removed from this page; please check the page's history to verify that the error has been rectified and for any other comments the administrator may have made. Lengthy discussions should not take place here, and should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere.

References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error, and a suggested rewording is helpful with a stylistic complaint. The main page usually defers to supporting pages for facts.

Errors in Selected anniversaries/On this day

The SA pic today keeps disappearing and re-appearing on my monitor. Not sure why. Does anyone know how to fix this? Hopefully, it's just a problem on my screen, not on everybody's. --PFHLai (talk) 01:34, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't reproduce any problem with it. I'm not the expert, but I presume your browser and operating system are significant. Also, does it really just disappear when you're not touching the keyboard, or do you mean sometimes it won't load? Art LaPella (talk) 02:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It wouldn't load on a consistent basis. If it's just my PC, don't worry about it. Thanks, Art. --PFHLai (talk) 03:41, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in Did you know?

Second part of current DYK re. "...and the first paper mill in the UK, were situated on the River Darent in Kent?" appears to be in error; there being no such claim on the River Darent link and, anyhow, this would date to 1495 for John Tate, near Stevenage, Hertfordshire.[1] Regards, David. Harami2000 (talk) 07:13, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. Have also added text and reference for "first nail splitting mill in England" on the same DYK. Neither was found on the River Darent page to state that this was so. Somewhat unsure how this DYK made it to the front page; even the name of the person stated to be responsible (and corresponding wiki page) was given incorrectly as Geoffrey Box, not Godfrey Box. Cheers, d. Harami2000 (talk) 07:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
