This user does not wish to speak or hear dumbass, but is resigned to the necessity of at least understanding it in an environment of massive collaboration.
My full given name is Todd Eric Brown. I go by Eric. It's nothing fancy but it works. I was born on June 8, 1989. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. It's been my home for every one of my 18 years. I'm about to graduate from Mill Springs Academy up in Alpharetta. It's a small private school and we've got plenty of "colorful" people up there but by and large it's a pretty good bunch.
I have many interests. One is hurricanes. I find them truely fascinating . I track them online and try to find out everything I can about them. I have a historical hurricane database that would have NOAA impressed. I've collected satellite photos of well over 200 induvidual storms. I have a fascination with weather in general, especially severe weather like tornados, earthquakes, volcanoes and hurricanes.
I've also come to love nature and it's beauty. I love places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Alaska. I could spend my life in these unimaginably beautiful places. Another great interest of mine is planetary astronomy. Few people realize how dynamic and diverse our universe is. The subject has become so quantitative and there's no grasp on reality. I'm also a writer. I write short stories and have written a novel...of sorts (80 pages). I'm working on another and have a third planned.
I know a lot about history. I've been interested in it since I was very young. My room's full of books on historical events. I'm also a geography buff. I could probably tell you the location and capitals of most countries on Earth and could give you a rough idea of what the country looks like on a map.
I have ADD and so I sometimes have a hard time staying focused. It doesn't really bother me though. I like to spend time time by myself. Alone, I don't have to worry about meeting other people's expectations. I've never been a social person. I got made fun of as kid and I still get a lot of shit from some people because I'm not the social dynamo they are. But I've met too many great human beings to care what couple of kids who'd rather joke around than actually learn anything think. They'll be working at Kroger for the next 30 years but by God they'll have smashing social skills.
This is not to say I don't enjoy conversation. I love to laugh and joke around just as much as the next guy. I've been very fortunate to have been around so many good people and I have a great family. I love my parents, my grandparents, aunts, uncles, all of them. They're just great people. I feel very blessed in that regard. Sometimes it's only when you look at how many wonderful people you're around every day that you realize how menial the baseless ridicule of just few is.
Music
I like a lot of music. I find solace (my favorite word) in it. It puts me at peace and it excites my imagination. It would be much easier for me to name the genres I do not like than name the ones I do like. So here it is, again genres that I do not like.
Pop-do I even need to explain. Soapy people who can't sing cooing into a microphone with some rent-a-guitars in the background doesn't strike me as entertainment.
Jazz-never have been a jazz fan. There's just not much to listen to.
New Age& Classical-I'm too young for that artsy crap. It puts me to sleep.
No big speech here. I like the concept of Wikipedia. I like the idea of a site where you can create your own webpage telling people about
a certain thing. I also like the fact that you can talk about the pages to other users in the discussion areas. That's the main thing that I like about this site.
