Deletion Sorting Project |
---|
|
This is a list of transcluded discussions on the deletion of articles related to Anime and manga. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting.
You can help maintain the list on this page as follows (open the edit box first):
- add a new AFD discussion (once it has already been opened on WP:AFD). Place on this page:
- {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}}
- Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. New entries go to the top of the list. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- remove a closed AFD from this page by deleting it. When doing so, list it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Deletion Archive by adding on that page:
- {{afdl|article title|deletion debate link|debate start date (ISO format)|debate end date (ISO format)}}
- remove an AFD from this page, which is not on a relevant subject, by deleting it.
Please note that adding an AFD to, or removing it from, this page does not add it to, or remove it from, the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page, before adding it to this page.
It is also helpful to:
- tag an AFD, once it is on this page, by adding to it:
- {{subst:delsort|Anime and manga}} <small>—~~~~</small>
- If you wish, you can automate this task by adding {{subst:deltab|Anime and manga}} to your monobook.js file. See Template:Deltab for instructions.
- This tag will display a note that the AFD has been listed here (in addition to the main AFD page).

The result was Merged and redirected to List of extraterrestrials in Dragon Ball . I merged in the lead paragraph - anything more that is sourced and isn't just OR can be added. Black Kite 22:37, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Namekian
- Namekian (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View AfD)
This article asserts zero notability through reliable sources, and is simply a repetition of the plot of various Dragon Ball articles plot sections in an in-universe way. It is therefore wholly duplicative, unnotable, and should be deleted. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 15:27, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep & Clean Up It shows notability through the references it uses, in the same way as Son Goku. I don't see any plot repetition in the article (except in the History section, but that's to be expected [you can't have a Dragon Ball race article that makes no mention whatsoever about plot]). Little to none of the information in the article is duplicative. An in-universe tag should be placed, but deletion is overkill.--KojiDude (C) 15:45, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. The article needs cleanup and reliable sources. Once that is done, then the article should be fine. RobJ1981 (talk) 15:53, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- That's great to hear, and I look foreword to seeing those references posted here so we can all know how notable this is. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 16:38, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Well I never said I would do it, I just gave advice to KojiDude. Personally, I'm not so sure if sources do exist. RobJ1981 (talk) 16:59, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Planet Namek is gone, so should this. JuJube (talk) 20:20, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment The Planet Namek article was some barely-linked to series of small paragraphs made by one guy a few weeks ago with no references and etc, on top of being a really minor part of the series in and of itself though. - Norse Am Legend (talk) 04:21, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Cull and merge to List of extraterrestrials in Dragon Ball. Fails WP:N, WP:FICT, WP:PLOT, etc. No significant third party coverage of this species, all refs are purely from source material, with bits of WP:OR thrown in. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 23:46, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge the species description and major attributes into List of extraterrestrials in Dragon Ball, the article's small enough to be put into a list without losing anything important. There probably should be some sort of more appropriate non-character list/article for this to be merged into though since "Namekian" is a aterm used to define a large group of characters and plot and not a specific person like the others on the current Extraterrestrials list. - Norse Am Legend (talk) 04:21, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge to List of extraterrestrials in Dragon Ball. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 20:27, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nano-Nano Pudding
- Nano-Nano Pudding (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View AfD)
It seems to me that such a minor fictional character as Nano-Nano Pudding should not have it's own entry. The article itself is just not notable enough! I can understand a brief summary in the game Galaxy Angel, but having an article on the character is just going too far. Tbsdy lives (talk) 08:52, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. This article is wholly unreferenced by means of reliable sources, consisting of plot synopses and original research. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 23:19, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Follow the suggestion of the pre-existing template and merge to List_of_Galaxy_Angel_characters, which is the consensus way to handle fictive elements of notable fictions that are not independently notable. —Quasirandom (talk) 14:51, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete Wikipedia isn't a directory of obscure marketing terms, and even if it were, this certainly isn't notable. Gelmax (talk) 16:34, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep imprtant technical development, and there should be references. DGG (talk) 02:51, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - no sources, no information on reception or the like, no evidence of notability whatsoever, and the "Example" section looks like a possible WP:COPYVIO. I might allow for a merge, but I honestly don't see anything worth keeping. At best, this deserves little more than a passing mention on one of the A.D. Vision-related articles. —Dinoguy1000 18:43, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment: A more reasonable rationale would be WP:CRYSTAL. I note that most likely all information at this point would be in Japanese, so the incident English g-hit is not at all a convincing evidence of non-notability. I note also that given the strong notability of the franchise, that if/when the musical happens, it will almost certainly pass WP:N. Withholding !vote till evidence of Japanese searches are brought forth. —Quasirandom (talk) 19:53, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Planned production within a month of opening. Reference establishes that it's scheduled. Extremely noteworthy franchise. Even if it doesn't draw a megamom it may still merit an article; see e.g. Breakfast at Tiffany's (musical). Fg2 (talk) 03:51, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Merge to List of Doraemon Media, not enough info to merit its own article. Gelmax (talk) 16:31, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge to List of Doraemon media per my above and Gelmax, with no prejudice against recreation if/when more information supporting its notability is discovered. —Quasirandom (talk) 00:19, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. I got the notification as the creator, but I didn't actually create it (just changed the name a long time ago). But this article really looks unneeded. At best, merge some info into relevant articles (if that info isn't already there). Onikage725 (talk) 22:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. Notability is a completely useless, utterly pointless "guideline" (more like misguiding-line) that shouldn't have any affect. Thanos6 (talk) 01:33, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Is that a serious comment? Doctorfluffy (robe and wizard hat) 06:07, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Major part of the Dragonball setting and too large to merge. Edward321 (talk) 01:46, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Plot summary without real-world information for a non-notable fictional event which has not received substantial coverage from reliable sources independent of the subject. Doctorfluffy (robe and wizard hat) 06:07, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Out of curiosity, do you have any knowledge of the subject at hand, and if you do, would it be possible for you to make a statement that isn't complete, overused copypasta? - Norse Am Legend (talk) 08:51, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- My statement is well-founded in Wikipedia policy. Doctorfluffy (robe and wizard hat) 15:23, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I suspect Norse Am Legend was pointing at the second half of your statement, wondering how you prove a negative. —Quasirandom (talk) 15:10, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Fair enough. The sources are the article now are all primary, and my Google search turned up nothing useful in terms of reliable sources. Based on that, I find it unlikely that reliable, non-fansite sources have ever covered this topic in detail. Ultimately though, the burden is not to prove non-notability as items are only presumed to be notable via significant coverage in secondary sources. In other words, someone needs needs to come up with good sources or the topic is presumed to be non-notable. Doctorfluffy (robe and wizard hat) 16:45, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to List of fictional martial arts. No evidence of notability (WP:N), focuses solely on events in the series (WP:WAF, WP:NOT#PLOT), major portion are fictional statistics (WP:NOT#STATS). – sgeureka t•c 10:41, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete no reliable third-party sources to establish real world notability. The article is little more then an extensive plot summary. --Farix (Talk) 11:29, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete per nom. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 21:33, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge into appropriate Dragonball plot sections or articles. Gelmax (talk) 18:04, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm not finding any evidence this fictional tournament has achieved notability independent of the work. As such, merge into an appropriate article about the franchise, but I leave the choice of target to those better versed in the subject. I note for the record that the wikiproject in charge of this has a clean-up effort going on focusing on the franchise's articles -- I strongly suggest that this be turned over to them to execute. —Quasirandom (talk) 19:59, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
