Neutralhomer and Twinkle

Hi Maxim, in the past, you were one who removed User:Neutralhomer's access to Twinkle (see Special:Undelete/User:Neutralhomer/monobook.js) because of his abuse of the tool. I just wanted to let you know that his abuse is being discussed again at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Twinkle_abuse should you care to comment. Thank you, Metros (talk) 12:56, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, as it did not seem notable, giving the |lack of reliable sources. I can restore it if you wish to work on it. Just poke me again if you want it restored. Maxim(talk) 23:22, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted page Vincenzo Manno for copyright, but the text is my own property!! Please put it back —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arancam (talkcontribs) 17:42, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If so, can you please confirm that by sending an e-mail to permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org? This is done to prevent impersonation. Thank you, Maxim(talk) 17:58, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stanley Cup

Hi Maxim, I went to the HHOF today and I got some closeup images of the scratched off name on the cup. Would you like me to upload one of them? -- Scorpion0422 01:03, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Niche Science & Technology

Hello Maxim, you deleted the page Niche Science & Technology because: ‎ '(Deleted because expired WP:PROD; Reason given: Article lacks sufficient TW)' please can you explain what TW means and I'll try and remedy it, Many Thanks Mightyhansa

Mightyhansa 11-NOV-2008Mightyhansa (talk) 12:03, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I use a script to assist with deleting articles proposed for deletion, and at that time, it was having a bug with links, so the actual reason was "Article lacks sufficient Attribution for Verifiability of the WP:CORP notability criteria". Do you wish that I restore the article? Maxim(talk) 20:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes please, what do you recommend?

Mightyhansa (talk) 09:52, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Mightyhansa 12-Nov-2008[reply]

I've restored the PROD as contested; I recommend you add sources and assert notability for firmly. The links in the actual reason are helpful. Maxim(talk) 23:00, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for List of goaltenders who have scored a goal in an NHL game

Updated DYK query On 11 November, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of goaltenders who have scored a goal in an NHL game, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Cirt (talk) 22:42, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

After finally finding the time to get back to working on articles, I've gone through and run a copyedit on History of the National Hockey League (1967–1992). Since I'm betting its been a while since you've looked at the article as well, I was figuring you might like to give it another once over and see if it is ready before I take it to FAC. Thanks! Resolute 17:47, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look over it, but I can't make any promises that it'll be quick, I'll pretty busy IRL. Maxim(talk) 23:04, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. There's no rush, and I figured you'd want to give it another look before we go for the gold star. Resolute 01:23, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I noticed you closed the TfD for the Template:St. Louis Blues roster navbox. Do we need to place Template:Anaheim Ducks roster navbox up for TfD as well, or can it simply be deleted based on the Blues consensus? – Nurmsook! talk... 18:07, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's a bit out of process to delete it...but I did anyways, it didn't have a chance at TfD.--Maxim(talk) 22:56, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you undelete Image:Beholder.jpg? It failed to meet the Commons' derivative works policy (which eventually lead to the deletion of the Commons version), and, as such, did not meet I8's requirement that the image have a licence compatible with the Commons' policies. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 07:01, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you planning to claim fair use on his image? Since it is a derivative work, it cannot be in the public domain, which is the licensing in the deleted file.--Maxim(talk) 20:27, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Could the {{Non-free character}} tag be used, since the image is of a copyrighted character? The drawing itself is derivative work, and I don't know if that would need another tag or not. -Drilnoth (talk) 12:43, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And yes, we are planning on using the image to illustrate the Beholder article, with a fair use claim. BreathingMeat (talk) 21:17, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Restored.--Maxim(talk) 21:55, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, thanks! -Drilnoth (talk) 00:09, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Commons image

Dear maxim Image:AnthonyWEngland.jpg was incorrectly deleted from the english wikipedia, because it's file history was not properly migrated to Commons. --TheDJ (talkcontribs) 02:25, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The same for Image:Donald Peterson-NASA-file-photo.jpg --TheDJ (talkcontribs) 02:39, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done.--Maxim(talk) 15:01, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but can you please be more vigilant next time in checking the CSD I8 criteria ? Errors like these cause a lot of frustration among users when the image gets deleted from Commons because there is no source. --TheDJ (talkcontribs) 15:30, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sheesh, I deleted that image a year ago, and I don't do anymore I8s because of the tediousness and forgetting important, yet seemingly minute details. I really don't need a telling off for a deletion I made a year ago...--Maxim(talk) 15:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize if I insulted you. --TheDJ (talkcontribs) 01:02, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have deleted Image:GreatWallOfHanDynasty.png because it was available on Commons. Please tell me if the licence was GFDL with or without disclaimers.
Thanks --D-Kuru (talk) 18:02, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also need the same information for Image:GreatWallofQinDynasty.png
Thanks --D-Kuru (talk) 18:23, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done.--Maxim(talk) 15:01, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for information

Hello,

Hi Maxim. Can you please undelete this image and leave a note on my talk page when you have done so? I'll add a non-free use rationale once it's back online. Thanks. Richard001 (talk) 03:42, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done.--Maxim(talk) 15:01, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You improperly deleted this image. Please restore it. It is a logo used just like any other radio station's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Averyisland (talkcontribs) 18:03, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images, which include the vast majority of logos, require fair-use rationales to meet our non-free content criteria. I'm willing to restore the image, provided you agree to add a rationale for the image's use.--Maxim(talk) 18:07, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Consider it done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Averyisland (talkcontribs) 18:40, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've marked the Xiph svg logo (XiphophorusLogoSVG.svg) for deletion. Why is that? Jmvalin (talk) 14:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images require justification for use per our non-free content criteria.--Maxim(talk) 02:33, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Where did you get the idea it was a non-free image? It's the logo of the Xiph.Org Foundation, of which I happen to be a contributor. Jmvalin (talk) 18:09, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The vast, vast majority of logos are non-free; I just checked xiph.org and it said (c) all right reserved. So it doesn't seem to be free.--Maxim(talk) 20:18, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring a (pertinent?) article

Hello Maxim, I am a person who looks stuff up on Wikipedia a lot, but have never contributed or involved myself in edits. I created an account today just to talk to you and ask about an article you deleted. Here's a cut/paste of what happened:

01:07, 19 August 2007 Maxim (Talk | contribs) deleted "Urethrostomy" ‎ (Expired prod, concern was: Wow. The entirety of this article is four paragraphs about performing a specific surgery on male cats. I mean, look at it. If I really need to give a specific reason for deleting it, I'll use "lack of context.")

I was on a wiki page about FLUTD, because I have many cats and four males are having intermittent trouble/huge vet bills. I followed a link from that page to Urethrostomy. This surgery is something of specific interest to me, and I was wondering if you would consider restoring it (although maybe its actual content will not be what I need... no way to know). I'll check back later, and Happy Thanksgiving. Gretlbug (talk) 15:22, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Restored (contested prod)

Deleted archive

Hi, I was looking for some information and found Wikipedia:Long term abuse/MascotGuy and discovered Wikipedia talk:Long term abuse/MascotGuy/Archive 1. Now I can read it and found what I sought, but I am not sure why you deleted this, even after reading the MFD. It does seem practical to make this page visible, I do agree with the MFD result though. Garion96 (talk) 20:11, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops, should not have deleted that one. Restored.--Maxim(talk) 02:33, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought as much. Thanks, Garion96 (talk) 22:40, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i notice you blocked User:Yaneleksklus today

...an editor who has been very troublesome at times. just thought i'd give you a heads-up - User:Z19AK3JH strikes me as a sock of his. have a look at the recent edits to the disco article, as well as very sweeping edits across a large number of music-related articles, and an odd obsession with the colour of infoboxes. i'll leave you make up your own mind :) --Kaini (talk) 21:07, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference on Georges Vezina

First off, thanks for adding more information for the Vezina article, and doing the minor fixings that I tend to miss. But as I was going through the article making all the references consistent, I came across something confusing. You added that he was the oldest goaltender to record a shutout in 1924 at the age of 37. However, the next season Vezina had 5 in the regular season and another 1 in the playoffs. Seeing how you have the book cited, I just want to clarify all that. Kaiser matias (talk) 02:26, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference on Jean-Claude Scraire

Hi Maxim, in August you have deleted the page of Jean-Claude Scraire for a lack of notability : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Claude_Scraire

M. Scraire was president of the Quebec pension Funds for 7 years. http://www.lacaisse.com/fr/Pages/Accueil.aspx

1995-2002 Ces deux postes de direction sont à nouveau réunis et M. Jean-Claude Scraire est nommé président du conseil et directeur général http://www.lacaisse.com/fr/lacaisse/histoire/Pages/dirigeants.aspx
