Hey Gogo (if I may; if not, Dr. Dodo?), thanks for reverting this act of spamming. The user is a repeat offender, by now; care to apply a more serious warning? Thanks, Drmies (talk) 19:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Professor Dodo! Drmies (talk) 01:43, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask you the reason for your revert? I was undoing an undiscussed, and non-supported merge - not deleting content, which you'll see was returned to Pro-Italian Maltese. If you did not realise this, I would be very grateful if you could revert again. If of interest, the request for page protection I filed is here. Cheers Geocourrier (talk) 18:16, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Geocourrier. BTW I am not Geocourrier, as you can verify if you wish by CU. All this mess has been created by the "hate toward everything italian" of PiccoloModificatoreLaborioso, who now uses even a french name probably because of that rejection. --Right2 (talk) 15:55, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Mike's Day Off

Lucky you finally did. It's been about ten months since I've seen the episode, so my memory of it is somewhat fuzzy now. The only dilemma was why only this year and not the year it was produced. Because it seemed to me that it followed the rerun of the 200-jobs lookback episode. Also, did you see the episode in 4:3? All I know is that the show switched to 16:9 after the 100 Jobs Special. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 08:30, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

deleting article

new to wikipedia confused to why our article/page on our band keeps getting deleted maybe you can help we looked at other band sites and added what we thought was enough to start our article Apparently we are doing something wrong. Appreciate the help

(67.117.172.234 (talk) 20:03, 5 March 2009 (UTC))Carbon 9[reply]

The article was deleted because it was blatant copyright infringement. The article also does not establish why the band is notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia per the notability guideline. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:54, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OnMobile

Re. declined speedy for OnMobile

A related, very similar speedy was agreed; I don't see this company is notable, and specifically I don't see how this article can be cleaned up to make a valid entry without starting from scratch.

As you decided to decline the speedy, will you be checking all the links to see what portions of the facts they support, or will you be listing the article for AfD?

From a quick glance, I see that there is a long list of awards, which is not supported by a reference; the article, therefore, acts as an advertizement for the company concerned; the mere fact it appears on wikipedia serves to promote the organisation.

Do you believe that the article will be edited to create useful content? Or will nobody bother, and it will sit here promoting the company, thus abusing the principles of wikipedia?

I realise that, technically, it might be possible to find sufficient notability in some obscure financial news item, but I fail to see the value in keeping the article. I would ask you to consider WP:COMMONSENSE, ie what value will this article add to wikipedia.

I hope this doesn't sound too accusatory; that's not my intention. I hate spam, I hate spammers, and I'm fed up of spending hours checking obscure reference links, flagging articles as unreferenced, removing spam links, etc etc, just for an anonymous IP to pop in and reinstate them or put yet another odd reference in, which takes time to follow, and often there is a WP:SRS at the end of it.

Thanks for your time reading this - again, apologies for a bit of a rant,

I'm sorry that you felt my edit summary was inadequate; I genuinely believed that the information I removed was the non-referenced portions of the article. My question above was a genuine one, and I think it's clear that there are no supporting references for either that specific information, or almost all of the other assertions in the article. Following your reversion, I have removed some specific segments of the article, in separate edits, with full comments in the edit summary and further information in the article talk page. If you do have any further objections or suggestions regarding the edits, I would appreciate it if you could discuss them in the talk page, especially prior to any further reverting. CloseXFD.js

Hi there. I feel a bit bad for bothering you again but I thought you might allow me to. I'd like two improvements to the CloseXFD script you have written. First of all, it would be nice if the "close" link would appear on log-subpages as well for those XFDs that use them, for example on Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2009 March 4 or Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2009 March 3. That would make using it much easier. As for the other improvement idea, a bit complicated I guess, it would be great if (if one chose "delete") the script could open new windows/tabs with the deletion page and the reason prefilled (e.g. [[Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2009 March 3#Template:The Mysterious Cities]]) for each page linked by templates like {{tfdlinks}} in that section. It would be great if you could consider this. Regards SoWhy 09:57, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the close link to the FfD and TfD sub-pages should be easy enough since I would expect them to be like the AfD sub-pages. I'll look into it. As for the second request, I'll have to think about it. The problem isn't opening the tabs and inserting the right deletion reason. The problem is parsing the deletion discussion to figure out which articles/files whose tabs I need to open. With the section being a potential mess of anything and everything added to it, I'm a bit worried about parsing the wrong thing. That's why I'm also very leery about automatically deleting anything. One false parse and a very wrong deletion can occur. =\ One other thing I want to do is restore a Close link into the individual AfD sub-pages. I wanted the Close link on the AfD sub-page the other day when I followed the AfD link on the article to close the AfD as speedy delete, but then had to go search around the daily sub-page to find the Close link. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:42, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
FFD and TFD don't behave like AFD, there is not a page for every nom but for every date with the nominations as sections. But it's like the layout on the main page, so it should be easy to do. As for the second thing, my request was not to auto-delete those things but to open a window with the deletion reason prefilled because it's quite annoying to have to manually create that section link. The deletion itself should still be manually. As for the links to parse, at least at TFD there is {{tfdlinks}} that should be only used to list the nominated template. Regards SoWhy 11:34, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nvm the latter thing, I forgot that {{tfdlinks}} has a special delete link for that ;-) SoWhy 11:57, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Adding the close link to the FfD and TfD date sub-pages shouldn't be a problem. Everything is clean to parse, so it shouldn't be a problem. As for the second request, I understand what you are asking, it's how to get there without making a mistake that is the problem. Opening the tab and filling the form out is easy, it's figuring out to open with the tab that is the problem. I'm having some difficulty explaining what the problem is, but I'm trying to work out the programming issue in my head. I'll see what I can do. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:37, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism on "John Adler"

I just wanted to say thanks for stepping in and reverting Larueness's edits. Larueness and a number of other new users have no edits other than this persistent vandalism to the John Adler article (I suspect sockpuppetry). In any case, it is very frustrating that they keep re-adding this "teabag incident" under the Controversies section, as it is completely unreported by reliable sources, unconfirmed, and possibly a hoax. My request for temporary semi-protection of the article was denied. Since you are an administrator, I was hoping you could block the offending users. (I'm unfamiliar with the procedure for that, as I've never had to deal with such a problem during my time on Wikipedia -- until now, that is.) Thanks. Hi, Mr. Gogo Dodo.
I concur with your deletion of the Cruz page. He is a fraud, and any legitimate special operations solder can tell simply by looking at his absurd photographs, which we have downloaded and safeguarded.
Mr. Cruz has been referred to the POW Network, where his name and photograph have already been enshrined on one of their Walls of Shame. We will be referring him to the Assistant Attorney's Office, and to the Inspector General of the Veteran's Association. Mr. Cruz is in violation of multiple Stolen Valor statutes, and it is quite possible that he is drawing VA benefits under fraudulent circumstances.
For those who wish to see the original page in its pristine form, all that they need to do is search on Google and view a cached page.

Perplexed by your Non helpful deletions

I have been trying to add some interesting and factual information to my son-in-laws living bio page. (Senator Beau McCoy). Rayc helped me by getting a photo I had taken during the innauguration onto the page. Needless to say I don't know much about this cyber experience. I put in some facts about Beau that my own memory can attest to; and yet I found these things online. The first time you deleted I figured it was because there was no proven reference cited. I did not know how to do this, but I found the "Link" symbol and knew what that was, so I put the pieces back in and then put in links to where they were found online (news stations, newspapers, online groups, and the senators own webpage). Yet you deleted them all again. SO are you totally offended by Beau's political stands and beliefs? Are you doing this for personal reasons? It would seem if I simply have made a mistake in citing references you could send me an e mail or 'talk' and tell me what to do...of just do it by editing the links to what they should be? I'm trying my best...for a grandmother who doesn't do much but read e mail online, I thought I had done pretty well. Anglswings6510

Even McCoy's own words about what motivated him to get into politics and how he encourages children to follow their dreams and work hard...were not worthy enough for you to allow to be put on Wikipedia.
