{{{info}}}
Hi, I'm JoJan (username), I'm retired since a few years and I live in Belgium.
I'm a native Dutch speaker, but I'm also fluent in English, rather good in French and can make myself understood in German. I used to know a good deal of Latin, but I have forgotten most of it (however more and more fragments are gradually coming back).
My main interest was originally the translation of English common names of Flora and Fauna into their Dutch equivalents.
Therefore I'm constantly struggling with the ever changing taxonomy of these plants and animals.
I have more than a thousand pages of Fauna and Flora, built up over many years, to be put gradually on Wikipedia.
This is a time-consuming task.
Besides all this, my interests are broad : among them astronomy, cosmology, chemistry, computers, translation (English -> Dutch and vice versa) and reading a lot.
Besides writing new articles (mainly plants, biographies, articles about art, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods), I have been patrolling the 'Recent Changes', looking for anything that may interest me and needs editing, especially stubs. I have been adding or editing taxoboxes to many pages. Anyway, I intervene whenever I think I can make a positive contribution. I also have taken an interest in writing biographies of biologists who were the authors of new species. I have also been uploading several hundreds of photos (many of which were enhanced by me) and over 10,000 photos to the Commons.
I'm also active under the same username on the Commons, nl.wikipedia, fr.wikipedia, de.wikipedia, it.wikipedia and es.wikipedia. I also have a userpage in 54 project pages.
WikiProject
Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods was started by me on May 10, 2004. For a long time I've been the only participant in this enormous undertaking (about 100,000 species !). Up to now I have been working there mostly on the Thecosomata and the Gymnosomata.
This page is a repository for pages that are useful to "doing things" in Wikipedia. In contrast to the Main Page its focus is more for the benefit of regular editors and contributors, rather than the general public.

The Bio-Barnstar
I award this Barnstar to JoJan, to acknowledge the fact that he was the one who started Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods and contributed so much work to it over the years, enabling subsequent users (including myself) to have a great framework for all future gastropod articles. Thanks JoJan! Invertzoo (talk) 22:40, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
The Malacology Barnstar
Awarded to recognize great devotion in the creation and maintenance of high quality articles related to members of the phylum Mollusca. Thank you!
The Nudibranch of Niceness
For your outstanding work in fixing up my stubs, I present to you this award. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:38, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
A piece of Jimbo's star
For all the hard work you put into starting WikiProject Gastropods and making it as great as it is, I award you a nice-sized chunk of the barnstar that Jimbo gave us on July 25 2009. This piece has a diamond in it! Invertzoo (talk) 12:40, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
This barnstar, (fanfare), the first I have ever awarded, (louder fanfare), which also spins round and round, (deafening fanfare), is for giving super, substantial, sensible and solid strength to simple, slender stubs. Slime on! Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:44, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
