International telecasts
There was also telecast in Slovenia on Šport TV channel. I can't add this to list, because I'm not an established user. Please, someone add this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NYG (talk • contribs) 08:51, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Could someone verify the delay? german television aired the half-time show of The Who, experiencing a several second long lag. the audio was running ahead of the video feed. the official announcement of the ARD (german broadcast station) explained this as a world wide technical glitch, that they couldn't fix in post... sooo... could anyone confirm this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.90.219.47 (talk) 11:00, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, there were 2 feeds. One produced by CBS and one by NFL Network. On CBS everything was OK. On NFL Network there was a delay. Almost all Europe had NFL Network's feed so almost all Europe had delay in Half-time show. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NYG (talk • contribs) 12:52, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I added Slovenia now so this is OK. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NYG (talk • contribs) 14:09, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Update?
Since the West Side Stadium is dead now, did the NFL say anything yet? Are they going to wait and see if another NY stadium becomes available? --feitclub July 7, 2005 05:00 (UTC)
In the section about the mancrunch ad, it mentions a bowl of popcorn. But in the commercial, it is a bowl of potato chips. This should be fixed. http://mancrunch.com/media —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chairman87 (talk • contribs) 18:54, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
The Mancrunch ad does NOT show the other man being "disgusted" -- just surprised. It's humorous but not negative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.126.96.39 (talk) 21:32, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

The information on the Pro Bowl is pretty much common knowledge, as most of it can be realized by looking at a sports calender, or watching five minutes of the 2009 Pro Bowl. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shep.Hayes (talk • contribs) 02:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Super Bowl logo
I've noticed the super bowl logo wikipedia has is the wrong logo. On the super bowl 44 website the logo is different. The football between the field goal thing on wikipedia has the middle line of the football going all the way down while on the website the line doesn't go all the way down. also the logo should be darker.

Calendar
"The game will be played on February 7, 2010, the latest date of any Super Bowl played during the calendar year."
Have there been any Super Bowls that were not played during the calendar year? LordAmeth (talk) 09:01, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- It means it will be latest in the calendar a Super Bowl will be played -- early Super Bowls were played in mid-January, then late January, now early February. –Howard the Duck 14:29, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

"The selection of The Who is notable as the band performs the theme songs for each TV series in the CSI franchise, all of which air on CBS - which will air this Super Bowl." Game Line
The game did open at -4 Colts. However, due to the volume distribution the line has shifted to -6 Colts. A significant move in gambling lines for a Superbowl absent the injury of star players. The line can be confirmed at any major sports betting site or ESPN.com's odd aggregation service. http://espn.go.com/nfl/lines

Uniforms
What does everyone think about the possibility of adding the teams' uniforms somewhere on the article? We could follow the Wikipedia soccer model. On every big soccer final there are uniforms of the two teams displayed somewhere (for example: 2009 UEFA Champions League Final and 2006 FIFA World Cup Final). I think the choice of uniforms are of historical importance and it would benefit the Super Bowl articles to have a small picture or representation of them somewhere. --Tocino 20:36, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- The soccer uniforms you mentioned are rendered by Template:Football kit, which uses simple drawings and sub-templates to display small approximations of those uniforms. A similar elaborate template for American football was created at Template:American football uniform, but it is not widely used. What IS widely used on these American football articles, however, are actual images for the uniforms, like File:NFCS-Uniform-NO.PNG and File:AFCS-Uniform-IND.PNG. But unlike Template:Football kit and Template:American football uniform, these images are tagged as fair use and must comply with all the criteria of WP:NFCC. Zzyzx11 (talk) 20:19, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- Do you think we should add Template:American football uniform -style pictures for this article? I would be in favor of it. --Tocino 00:02, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- I have always been neutral to that template. On the one hand, its nice to have something that is free content and thus does not have to follow all the WP:NFCC criteria. On the other hand, the most significant part of an American football uniform, that primarily distinguishes the appearance of one team from another, is the team logo on the helmet. This is probably one major reason why Template:American football uniform has not become widely used and fair use images are primarily used instead. Zzyzx11 (talk) 07:12, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'd have to agree with Zzyzx11 on this one. The most distinctive way of recognizing teams is their helmets and the logos on their helmets, but they aren't free content, so it's a bit of a drag including them on every article. 174.103.16.44 (talk) 02:16, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

- It should also be noted, regardless a which team wear their dark or light jerseys during this game, the super bowl uniforms are different than the ones used during regular season and traditionally have a patch affixed with the Super bowl roman numerals on them. Maybe i'm just being too critical —ASPENSTI—TALK—CONTRIBUTIONS 05:35, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- How can the Saints extend a winning streak that started during a game they didnt participate in? (Super Bowl 39, the supposed start for their six game white jersey winning streak.)
Records and milestones
There should be such a section, no? it would include information like it being the first time the Saints reach the Super Bowl and Matt Stover being the oldest player in Super Bowl history.[1] --ChaChaFut (talk) 17:44, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- The content about this being the Saints first Super Bowl is already in the very first paragraph in the article, and in the "Teams" section, so that does not need to be repeated again. As for listing records and milestones, you can model it after last year's article, Super Bowl XLIII#Statistics. Zzyzx11 (talk) 18:12, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- After the on-side kick, one commentator said it was the first during a Super Bowl that was not in the fourth quarter while another disputed this. Is there any way to confirm and cite this in the future, and if so I think that would fit as a milestone for this Super Bowl. — CobraWiki ( jabber | stuff ) 03:52, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Yeah that's what they want you to think, but now everyone's edits must be approved first by god like edit kings.--Subman758 (talk) 02:41, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, because clearly leaving the page unprotected and allowing the raving lunatics that pass for football fans these days leave their opinions every ten seconds or so while at the same time keeping track of the game was a clearly superior choice. Are you this thick in real life or is this some sort of on-line persona thing? HalfShadow 02:53, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Dockers ad clarification
I am unsure as to whether my account is sufficient to edit the locked article. I've had it a while but not many edits. Still, better to err on the side of caution and defer to the powers that be. Because it really doesn't matter who adds the information as long as it's correct, right? (This is in response to the vandalism stuff.)
Anyway, the Dockers ad suggests you can get a free pair of pants by accessing the URL they gave. I had my wife access it at home and the ad is misleading. Apparently you can enter to win a pair of pants. So I believe the article should read and a Dockers ad to promote a chance to win a free pair of their pants instead of and a Dockers ad to promote a free pair of their pants. Access the site yourselves (dockers.com/freepants if memory serves) and look at it yourself; you can even use the URL as reference in the article.
Thanks editors for your efforts to keep Wikipedia credible. NathanJ1979 (talk) 07:50, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

This is the first time a team won the Super Bowl after losing to Tampa Bay during the regular season (known as the Tampa Bay Curse). Shouldn't this be mentioned in the article?
Pro Bowl
According to the article: "A total of 14 players from the Super Bowl participants – seven each from the Colts and the Saints – did not play in the Pro Bowl."
I'm thinking that the combined number of players that didn't play in the Pro Bowl was closer to 90.
Perhaps this should be reworded as: "A total of 14 players from the Super Bowl participants – seven each from the Colts and the Saints – were selected to the Pro Bowl. Given the new schedule, they were unable to participate."
(And BTW, Hooray Saints!)
