This IP address is User:SWAdair editing while logged out. Most of my edits these days are anonymous simply because I'll pull up Wikipedia and jump into editing without logging in. About the only time I bother to log in to my account is when I need to do something that the software will not allow an IP editor to do, such as fixing vandalism on a protected page. I do appreciate the offers I've had to create an account, but after enough of these kind offers I thought I'd add a box at the top of the page explaining that I've had an account for years. I won't simply add a standard template welcoming you; but I'll say that if 152.16.16.75 is a specific user at Duke University who is responsible for the edits recorded for that IP, they're useful edits, and I'd recommend that you create an account so that your edits and comments will be attributable to a particular person (who seems quite clueful and intelligent). Thank you very much. Yes, I use IPs 152.16.16.75, 152.16.59.190 and 152.16.188.107. I recognize and claim all previous edits from those IPs. Although all three are technically shared computers, I am the only person to edit Wikipedia from those IPs. Its a shame, really, that my coworkers don't share my enthusiasm. Thank you very much for your kind words. In fact, I do have an account that I rarely log into any more - User:SWAdair. I voluntarily requested de-adminship when it became apparent that I would not be editing as frequently as I once did. Help restore sanity

You helped sort out a speedy deletion dispute for a related act to one band I am trying to write an article about at present, stating that the act qualified on WP:MUSIC 1 and 10. Currently the Unquiet Nights article I have written is being disputed and I have outlined clearly how the act meets 3 criteria in the least, as layed out by WP:MUSIC. Perhaps you would turn your attention towards that article and lend a reasonable approach to what's happening there. Thanks, and it is appreciated much about your input to the Lovechild (band) article in 2010.

The edit I had reverted was part of a mass-reversion of spam. User:Sxhpb Contribs had added a lot of links in articles, all linking to books from the University of Chicago Press. but your edits of my half-assed edits to the Bay Bridge failure, were both useful, and lacking the usual Wikipedia nazi editor behavior, genuinely fixing my edits, teaching me something new about how wiki references should be made, and not calling me out as some sort of obvious jerk-faced vandal.

You reverted my edits at a talk page? Well, I take it all back then.

I've never figured out why people revert edits at a talk page. Seems totally pointless and just a way to piss people off and take any of the fun and flavor out of the wiki.

In this case at talk welding, I was absolutely correct too. Shameful that a page on welding doesn't ever mention tack welding, what it is, why it is, etc. And it's typical wiki behavior to delete it because it's not as fun/obscure useful as say, cold fusion friction mediated liquid spooge welding.

And me be nice to wiki editors? See, wiki has this enormous huge bad reputation it's brought on itself and its well deserved, where wiki nazis wander around the SS of the Unternet deleting any entry they dislike and threatening the evil ban hammer on editors.

About religion

"RC Patrol" is Recent changes patrol. It means I'm checking Special:RecentChanges. I'm wondering why you're changing "Baptist" to "Baptist Church" but not changing other religions to include the word "church". I was raised Baptist. Every Baptist I know, when asked their religion, would reply "Baptist." They wouldn't reply "Baptist Church". Sterlingville, Oregon, et al.

Thanks for the linkspam reverts on those articles. I took a quick peek at the site, and it's too bad that an otherwise useful site seems to be for driving traffic to the author's page so he can sell books. I often add links to photo pages like this on the small town articles I write, especially if we don't have a Commons photo yet, though I try to use .gov and .edu sites. So I was thinking at some point I might restore some of those links on a case-by-case basis. Luckily on one of the pages, I noticed that he appears to be using photos from the Historic American Building Survey, so we can either link to the Library of Congress page or upload the photos as they're in the public domain. Anyway, I don't suppose as an IP you can have a watchlist, but don't be alarmed if the links reappear at some point--I despise spam as much as anyone and am not in cahoots with "Kerby Jackson"! Good catch on the source of his images! I hadn't noticed that. All I saw was the commercial nature of the spam links. I think uploading the public domain images or linking directly to the Library of Congress page, rather than to a commercially-oriented site, is a great idea. I don't have a watchlist, but I do occasionally (days or weeks later) review my previous edits to see what has happened since I last edited the articles. Thank you for the note. I got into that habit because other well-meaning RC Patrollers, sometimes not thinking to check, leave a tier-1 warning on a vandal's talk page if the vandal blanks it when they would have left a tier-2 or 3 warning if they had seen the earlier messages. The admins always check the talk page history once a vandal is reported, but I've gotten into the habit of restoring previous warnings for currently active vandals so that other editors don't miss them. Flemish Ardennes

I used to be the creator, author and webmaster of a website about the Flemish Ardennes and South-East-Flanders on Geocities. I started this website in 1998. Geocities became part of Yahoo!, and in 2009, Yahoo changed it policy towards Geocities. I did not agree with this policy, and as a result, I discontinued the website that same year. The website disappeared, but as author of the content, I still have the content.

I am willing to donate the content to Wikipedia, by adding the text to existing webpages within Wikipedia, or by creating new webpages within Wikipedia. As a first trial, I added my text on the history of the Flemish Ardennes to the webpage about this subject in Wikipedia. It was then deleted by you, since you correctly discovered that the content was coming from the former Geocities website about the Flemish Ardennes. However, since this website does not exist anymore, and since I am the author of its content, I wonder whether you would agree to undo the deletion of the content I added to the Wikipedia page on Flemish Ardennes.

Since I am a new contributor to Wikipedia, I am looking forward to your cooperation and guidance.

Notice, however, that both options listed there require you to have some access to the original site -- either to place a GFDL notice on the original page or to send an e-mail from an associated e-mail address. Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials is another good page to read, and you may consider posting a comment on its talk page to get an administrator's input. A couple of quick notes: standard formatting here has new messages posted below the earlier messages (i.e. new posts should show up at the bottom of the page), and you can sign your posts by typing four tildes, like ~~~~.
