Just a question

I thought this is a template for all active WWE Superstars on all three shows, not just performers who are active wrestlers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Five spice tofu (talkcontribs) 08:09, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Active/Inactive talent

So apparently they are listed by "on-screen status." This should be noted somewhere on the template or a clarification should be made about this, as DH Smith (for instance) has been inactive both on screen (and off, actually) yet remains listed as active, while Chavo has been actively wrestling house shows yet is listed as inactive (and last time I checked, the TV part of the business is not the whole business - and WWE's most recent financial reports can attest to the importance of non-televised live events). Either way, there is an inconsistency that should be addressed. --Edward Morgan Blake (talk) 10:09, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The current division of active and inactive wrestlers is completely arbitrary. Guidelines should be created or the distinction should be scrapped. -- Kevin Browning (talk) 03:42, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

as far as i'm aware DH Smith is listed under inactive. Skitzo (talk) 11:26, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

COPY THIS TEMPLATE

COULD YA'LL COPY THIS TEMPLATE TO HERE?--72.186.91.215 (talk) 20:41, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you do it yourself Hornetman?-- bulletproof 3:16 03:18, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because, the correct templates do'nt exsist over there to do it that way. It's gotta be built by some one who knws code well enough. Keep in mind project colors over there.--72.186.91.215 (talk) 05:24, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That’s not how things work. Templates can't just be copied and pasted from one Wiki to another. You're just going to have to make a new one or work with what you have on that Wikia. -- bulletproof 3:16 05:33, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Split?

Seeing as this is a pretty bloated template, it seems logical to me to split it up into 3 separate templates; one for each brand. Thoughts?Hezekiah957 (talk) 22:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Steve Austin.

Austin is still on the roster. There is no reason to remove him from the template. I have put him back on it. -- Kevin Browning (talk) 03:43, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

he may be on the roster but he only makes "special" appearences, they leave him on WWE.com so when people google him it links to their site, unless he comes back full time leave him off.Skitzo (talk) 17:04, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why? The template includes all current WWE roster members. That includes Austin. Hogan is not under contract, for example, thus he is not on the roster, although he still makes special appearances. I am going to keep adding Austin unless a good reason is given not to. -- Kevin Browning (talk) 03:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Austin is not under contract, except MAYBE a films deal, DO NOT ADD him he is on the roster page under "other personel" or something like that he doesn't not need to be on the template as he DOES NOT WRESTLE, persisting in adding him COULD be seen as vandalism. Skitzo (talk) 18:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If he was not under contract, they couldn't legally put him on the roster on the website. He is not under other personnel, he is right there with the others on WWE.com. Whether he wrestles or not is irrelevant, as many of the so-called full-time performers rarely wrestle on Raw either. I disagree that it's vandalism, but rather a difference of opinion. Please see WP:Civil. Thanks. -- Kevin Browning (talk) 00:31, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes they can they did it for years with The Rock and Hogan, he probably has a kegends contract and is working with their films department, HE IS NOT UNDER A WRESTLING CONTRACT WITH THE WWE OR ANYONE ELSE. He is under "other personnel on the roster page on here, which is how we update the template, and it would be vandalism when the vast majority agree 1 thing and ONE person keeps doing something different. Skitzo (talk) 18:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's irrelevant how he's categorized on the Wikipedia page. On WWE.com, Austin is on the Raw roster, just like all the others. It's not vandalism to follow the primary source. And once again, I would ask that you stop posting in all caps, as it's considered inflammatory. Thanks. -- Kevin Browning (talk) 18:01, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree here with Skitzouk. We should be adding anyone without a wrestling contract unless we would want to add Mae Young to the roster somewhere for her appearances. Steve Austin appears on wwe.com from mostly promotional reasons, he is under contract with the WWE Films project, but not under a contract for anything else. His minor stints of action do not call for an addition on this template. — Κaiba 22:50, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Adamle

Why is Mike Adamle on the roster if he's a reporter. Bam123456789 (talk) 21:17, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Same about Jon Ross and Jerry lawler. Bam123456789 (talk) 21:19, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because they are active on-screen talent on the show. — Κaiba 14:45, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But why aren't all the wwe roster on there. Bam123456789 (talk) 21:11, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alphatbetical Order

Are the wrestlers supposed to be sorted by last name or by first name? The Raw list in particular is all over the place with that. Beth Phoenix under B for Beth, but Lance Cade under C for Cade, for example. McJeff (talk) 21:25, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The alphabetical order is simple:
If it is a real name, it is alphabetized by the first letter of their surname.
If it is a stage name, it is alphabetized by the first letter of their name.
Κaiba 14:35, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling#Employees templates for the recent change to the template's alphabetical order. — Κaiba 22:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Roddy Piper

Why is Roddy Piper on the Raw roster list? He is not even on WWE.com; i'm gonna remove him. Virakhvar321 (talk) 04:38, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Brian Kendrick

There is no reason to overlink his name. The Briand Kendrick is the SAME INFO as The Brian Kendrick except it takes up less space. I will point out Road Warriors and New Age Outlaws as similar articles where you always say "The" before them but leave them out of the link. Please discuss here rather than just putting it back in the article. TJ Spyke 21:16, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one has raised any objections, then be default this is the consensus. TJ Spyke 15:04, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

LThe Brian Kendrick is his official ring name though. It's no actual difficulty to have the word 'The' included in the link, and it looks more correct, as the rest of the roster doesn't have parts of their name un-linked. Besides, the Road Warrior part is a stupid argument. The emphasis of his name is THE Brian Kendrick. The word 'The' was not emphasized in the Road Warriors. FOr that matter, The Big Show is fully linked and the word 'The' isn't even on his WWE.Com profile. I'm re-linking the word 'The' and it should remain that way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.246.53.163 (talk) 05:33, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not being in the link doesn't make it look any less official. How is The Road Warriors part stupid? It's the EXACT same situation. Writing "Brian Kendrick" twice just to have "The" appear blue instead of black is what's stupid. TJ Spyke 15:40, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other?

Remove the "Other" section. if we really need an "Other" section, than we would have to pile every single non wrestler not assigned to a brand. so this "Other" section needs to go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.130.13 (talk) 19:15, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hurrican Helms

His TitanTron video says "Hurricane Helms". His on-screen graphic says "Hurricane Helms". Tony Chimel announced him as "Hurricane Helms". Matt Striker and Josh Mathews called him "Hurricane Helms". His ringname is Hurricane Helms, end of story. A compromise was put in until Truco reverted for no good reason. At most both Hurricane Helms are The Hurricane are used, but no intelligent person can say Hurricane Helms isn't one of his current ringnames. TJ Spyke 22:19, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the problem, the storyline as of late is that Gregory Helms and The Hurricane are not the same person, which is why they created 2 separate profiles for them under "Gregory Helms" and "The Hurricane" [not Hurricane Helms]. The Hurricane Helms on the titantron is clearly a mess up by production, Chimel is always making mistake as are the commentators. For now all sources on WWE.com point to "The Hurricane", and recall that they just started this "split-personality" thing this past week, so I think its best to wait for this week's ECW on Syfy to see what is made of it.--Truco 503 23:16, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Matt Striker rarely ever makes mistakes. He even made a point of saying it's not known if "Hurricane Helms" and "Gregory Helms" are the same person. At the very least it should be said he uses both versions of the Hurricane name. You can't say that the TitanTron, on-screen graphic, ring announcer, and both commentators are all wrong. TJ Spyke 23:55, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
TJ, be honest with me man. Do you really think that if they were trying to pull off the storyline of "Gregory HELMS" being different from "Hurricane HELMS", don't you think they would have not used the HELMS name for the Hurricane character? --Truco 503 00:00, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In the real world? No. But logic has no place in wrestling (do you think Jeff would really forgive Matt after Matt burned down his house, killed his dog, tried to kill him by running him over, and tried to injure him by making the pyro go off in his face?). Things may change, but as of right now they are using the Hurricane Helms name on TV. TJ Spyke 00:09, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FCW

Just putting this here in case the IP bothers to check. There is no more DJ Gabriel. After he was sent back down to FCW over 4 months ago (which means he should not be listed on the SmackDown roster), he started dropping it. On the July 2 episode of FCW, he started wrestling as just "Gabriel" and said he wanted to get back to the basics. There is also no source that Brett DiBiase is a member of the Raw roster. Just appearing in 2 backstage promos (of which he has about 2 sentences combined) doesn't mean he will be a member. Developmental wrestlers appear on WWE TV frequently without being called up to the main roster. TJ Spyke 21:31, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ruthless Roundtable Stable?

On WWE TV, William Regal, Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov have formed an alliance which has been referred to as the "Ruthless Roundtable", should this be added to the Stables and Alliance section or is it to soon? --86.171.233.198 (talk) 00:47, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't seen confirmation that it's not just a nickname for them. TJ Spyke 00:49, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, fair enough. It's been noted by commentators and such that they have formed an alliance though so why not just add them in as William Regal, Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson? --86.171.233.198 (talk) 01:03, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The template is really just for a way to quickly navigate between articles. I think the alliance is already included at List of World Wrestling Entertainment employees. TJ Spyke 01:14, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fix the Template!

Can someone come and fix this template? I don't know how to fix it.--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 03:54, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean? TJ Spyke 22:09, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind. somebody had destroyed the template, but someone already fixed it. I didn't know how to fix templates.--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 22:17, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Commentators and On-Screen Authorities

Can we move the commentators and on-screen authorities as a seperate part of the template instead of being apart of the shows they're on?--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 19:22, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why? They are brand specific just like the wrestlers are. TJ Spyke 19:24, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I thought it will be simple just to have them in their own catagory because in 2008, they swapped JR and Cole, and recently as late 2009 with Vickie coming back as SD's consultant.--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 19:34, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Montel Vontavious Porter/MVP

I think it's better to have MVP as Montel Vontavious Porter, since it's the full ring name.--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 02:13, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, MVP is basically just a nickname and shorthand that is easier to write than "Montel Vontavious Porter". TJ Spyke 15:33, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Free Agents

Since the free agents section now down to five, I think it will be better to put everyone in the FCW section. Does anyone agree with me?--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 20:47, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Only if you have a source stating they will be in FCW. TJ Spyke 20:50, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I was thinking that because we haven't seen Tyler for months and everyone else haven't been heard of for the past three weeks since ECW folded.--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 20:54, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Neither was Tiffany till last weeks SmackDown, or Kozlov till Raw last night. They don't seem to be moving all of them over right away. TJ Spyke 20:57, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
True, but I still see Abraham's, Tyler's and Vance's photos(along with Rosa's, Savannah's, Caylen's, Trent's and Serena's) on the FCW talent page, so they're back there temporary.--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 21:03, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since Curt Hawkins is at FCW, can I move him to the FCW roster section until his television return?--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 21:57, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hide Eliminated NXT Rookie or Move Him Back to FCW?

I got a question. Since it's the first elimination on NXT tonight and there are more eliminations after tonight, are we gonna hide them or move them back to FCW until they appear on either Raw or SmackDown?--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 00:19, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IMPORTANT QUESTION!

I think the template should look like this:

Does anyone agree?--Yugiohmike2001 (talk) 05:23, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing wrong with the colors.

This is no different than sports team templates that are done in their colors.

Blinding?!?

Consensus for changing colors?

Ok, since vjm is deciding that there's nothing wrong with the colors that he chose, I am going to put it up for a consensus discussion here.

-Those colours are attrocious, and whoever changed them should feel ashamed of themselves. zzz (talk) 14:48, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I do not feel comfortable either. The default ones were good. WWEJobber (talk) 15:51, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I however, fell extremely comfortable. They spice things up a bit, and the colors have purpose (Raw = red, SD = blue, etc.. Vjmlhds 18:57, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've modified things a bit.

I'm using a white background instead of black. It's simple, and makes the colors "pop" more.

Vjmlhds 19:11, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can't change things such as this without consensus first, vjm. Why do you feel that the colors need to be changed, when they have remained how they were before you made your bold changes?   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 19:13, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really understand why people are having coniptions over this.

I added the colors because:

1. It follows the policy of sports team templates that are done in their repective colors (ex. The Lakers templates are all purple and gold, the Celtics templates are green and white, etc.) Same deal here--Raw in Red, SD in Blue, etc.

2. It dresses up a blase template. It doesn't affect the content any, it's just for looks.

So I repeat--What's the reason for the hair pulling? (And don't just say "I don't like it"--give me logical reasons, or else you're just whisting Dixie).

Vjmlhds 04:43, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here's my objection (and I am not the only one objecting to your changes) on this, based on what you said above - The WWE is a company, and not a "team" in the vein of other sports. Therefore nothing needs to be changed here. There is no "dressing up" that needs to be done here. And, since this is a "high visibility" template, you needed to seek a consensus first, so that's what we are trying to achieve now.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 07:35, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That is a very weak arguement. There other "non-sports" templates Look at McDonalds for example. They're in red and yellow, which are their colors (on the golden arches sign).

Vjmlhds 15:07, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Only because you made it that way. I'm sorry, but I fail to see what bug got under you to all of a sudden start changing colors on templates when they don't need to be changed.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 15:16, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with Mikey's arguement. STATic message me! 23:37, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As I said above, I have accepted that I made a mistake, and will do no further reverts on these templates with regards to the colors.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 22:57, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I give up.

You wanna keep the default colors, keep 'em.

If that will get this thing unlocked, so we can actually update information, then so be it.

I stand down, the fight is over.

Though a lot of y'all really made a mountain out of a mole hill here.

Vjmlhds 11:48, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remember the draft

To those it may concern...

In roughly 24 hours, WWE will have it's draft.

There's gonna be a bunch of people switching from Raw to SD and vice versa.

So the template is going to have to updated to reflect those changes.

This is a content matter, and has nothing to do with the current discussion about colors.

Just a heads up.

Vjmlhds 00:57, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Then I would suggest to whoever wants to make changes while protection is in place to make use of the Edit protected template.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 01:13, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm planning to be on here while the Draft goes down. How do I work on it while the template's on Edit protected?--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 02:14, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say just edit in a sandbox while the draft is on, and once the entire thing (including supplementary) is finished, used editprotect, and ask for it to be replaced by the changed version. Crisis.EXE 02:17, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Let's get this thing unlocked.

The colors are irrelevant. If y'all rather keep the default settings, then Mazel Tov, you got it.

The more important matter is updating it to reflect the draft.

Guys are coming and going all over the place, so let's unlock this bad boy so it can be up to date.

Vjmlhds 15:24, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Given the rank immaturity displayed in the last few days by a couple of editors across a broad swathe of navboxes, and the lack of any clear need for urgent updates, I don't see why unprotection is a good idea here. Sync with sandbox. Frietjes (talk) 20:46, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean Frietjes?--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 22:34, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
He means that the edit request is to sync the live template with the sandbox (i.e., copy the sandbox version to the live template). Is this what you want? Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 00:53, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I don't know how to do that.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 02:06, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Let me try to be clear here (1) You asked for a protected edit, (2) MSGJ asked you to make changes to the sandbox, then reactive the request, (3) You reactivated the request here, (4) I asked if you want me to copy the sandbox to the live template, (5) you said you don't know how to do it. I didn't ask if you know how, I asked if you want the sandbox version copied to the live template. Please make any necessary changes to the sandbox, then say "please copy the sandbox version to the live template", and then reactivate the request. We are not mind readers here. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 02:16, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Yes, please copy the sandbox version to the live template.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 02:47, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done, we got there eventually! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:12, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just minor ones. The link to WWE at the top can be simplified (it now says WWE. Also. the article for Eli Cottonwood is now at that name, so that can be fixed (currently it links to his real name, which the article used to be named). TJ Spyke 18:51, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 00:22, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from Mikeymike2001, 29 April 2011

Jinder Mahal made his WWE debut tonight on SmackDown in a backstage segement with The Great Khali and Rajin Singh. Please move Mahal to SmackDown.

I did it, but this template is not protected? Frietjes (talk) 15:52, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
An addendum to this request: the link should be changed as the article was moved from Tiger Raj Singh to Jinder Mahal. NeoChaosX (talk, edits) 19:26, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Go ahead. Frietjes (talk) 19:55, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Tiger Raj Singh link still works (it's a redirect) so there isn't really a need to change that. Wrestling0101 (talk) 19:59, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
