Hi to the editior who put in the succession box, I removed it because it is not quite accurate. Welker is still doing Megatron, he just did the "Transformers the Game" and a prequil for the box set of the film version of "Transformers" and he did a game for Hasbro. Also, there is another actor doing the televison series of a new version of "Transformers" and Hugo Weaving may retrun for the film version which he was the voice of Megatron. There is just too many Megatrons to have a meaningful succession box and he is still doing the voice. It was a good idea thanks for adding it. The photo here may not be correct. While I am not positive, that appears to be a photo of [[1] Billy West] and not [[2]Frank Welker]

The picture of Frank Welker is accurate, as can be seen at RetroJunk.com[3]. -- CKozeluh 18:50, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shortened notable section, included in filmography. Greenskeeper 22:53, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed insert boxes. Too much clutter on page. Content not relevant. Greenskeeper 03:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Succession boxes

If Welker is the only voice actor to play Fred Jones, why is there a succession box? Salamurai 00:09, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wes Welker

Is he related to Wes Welker, the wide receiver for the Cheaters...I mean Patriots? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.34.217.222 (talk) 18:53, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am checking that out, but currently I have no solid information of any biological connection. Greenskeeper (talk) 15:25, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No he is not —Preceding unsigned comment added by Optimussolo (talkcontribs) 22:27, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this image not work on other wikis? Egon Eagle (talk) 22:39, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It does now - I've made it work on other wikis by uploading it to Wikimedia Commons. Graham87 08:20, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Egon Eagle (talk) 18:02, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grindor

I don't believe that he portrayed the character of Grindor. As I don't see the character's name in the credits.

I also notice that Reedman (the razor thin 'former) isn't listed. Should I edit it? Philipnova798 (talk) 13:54, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Animals

Both Futurama and Simpsons commentaries have frequently suggested that Welker is the go-to guy for voicing any type of animal in animation. This seems like a notable thing that should be included; a cite can probably be found. TheHYPO (talk) 17:11, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe his page at http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Frank-Welker/ should be included as an external link. It gives a pretty extensive listing of his credits including pictures and sound clips for a ton of them even minor characters. There have been recent issues with this site being added to multiple articles; it is also important to note that you have a conflict of interest as you are an administrator on the site. --Ckatzchatspy 23:10, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hightest grossing actor

Regarding this statement: "Welker is listed as number one on the "All Time Top 100 Stars at the Box Office" list by the film website The Numbers, not as a box office draw, but in terms of the total revenue generated by the films he has participated in."

This is certainly correct, in that The Numbers *does* say that he's the highest grossing actor. However, their selection of movies included for each actor is laughably incomplete, to the extent that any statistics they give are demonstratively incorrect. As a quick example, they list Christopher Lee as having only been in 27 movies (less than a tenth his true total), and don't include Return of the King in the list (a rather mainstream omission), despite including the first two movies in the series.

I am suggesting that this line - which gives misleading information - be removed from the entry. Are there any complaints?

Thestorm042 (talk) 23:21, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. It's completely misleading. It's like Six Degrees of Separation from 6 Billion Dollars. By this standard, you could find many, many character actors who simply happened to be in major blockbusters. A bit player who did voices or sound effects on a movie gets equal credit with the bankable star that the studios built the whole movie around. The contrary metric that The Numbers uses simply isn't honest or useful. --Petzl (talk) 00:49, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. If you want a more reliable list, then look at the one from BoxOfficeMojo. They don't count bit players and Welker is not even on the list.--Maitch (talk) 08:54, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The statement is not misleading, and neither is the information. If that website takes into account every role (as opposed to only taking into account those that are starring roles), and if, given that information, Frank Welker had appeared in films that had grossed the highest amount, then saying such would not be misleading. If it only took into account Welker's such roles and did not take into account such roles of other actors, then the information would be misleading. However, having said that, if the site contained incomplete information to make such a claim, then it is considered unreliable and was correctly removed from the article.  Chickenmonkey  09:56, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's not important but Christopher Lee isn't in the theatrical cut of Return of the King.(Morcus (talk) 07:40, 29 October 2011 (UTC))[reply]
