Notability of Utøya mass murder-victims

Are there any of the victims of the Utøya mass murder (that do not have articles) that are notable? At least one of them has an article on Norwegian wiki.

Håvard Vederhus was leader of School Student Union of Norway, 2008-2009. --Hirzflag (talk) 07:10, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would rather say that Vederhus is notable for having been leader of Oslo AuF, none of the other leaders of Elevorganisasjonen is notable anyways. And if Vederhus is notable for leading Oslo AuF - Tore Eikeland should be notable for leading Hordaland AuF. But those two victims are the only notable victims I can think of. The discussion regarding Tore Eikeland is at [1]. Please do not spread the discussion.--85.166.141.247 (talk) 10:28, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-leader and non-elected by the general public

Here is a link to a deletion discussion about an article about one of the victims,[2].

Placement of reference about this M.D. (and former member of the Vigrid-organization)

http://www.vg.no/nyheter/innenriks/artikkel.php?artid=10089967

(We already have an article about another Norwegian doctor with and identical name, professor Eirik Solheim.)

In which article does this reference belong?

(The administrative proceedings against him, might be more notable than the doctor himself. And if none of these are notable enough to warrant an article, then I think that the references might be notable enough to warrant inclusion in some other of our articles. Suggestions?

(That a majority or minority does not see any notability, is hereby noted in advance.

That a majority or minority views/ does not view this as wikinews, is hereby noted in advance.)

The reference indicates that he was a member of Vigrid (Norway). But I have no references that show that he was a notable member of Vigrid.--Hirzflag (talk) 09:03, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

is an article which needs a lot of work. I've just reduced the amount of flowery phrasing. More work is required to achieve an encyclopedic tone. Many more references are needed. --Hordaland (talk) 13:13, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Norwegians sentenced to death in Congo

There are now 3 articles about Trial and conviction of Joshua French and Tjostolv Moland, Joshua French, and Tjostolv Moland.

There is an ongoing discussion to delete a preceding article, [3].

Please note that 2 of the above articles have interwiki to Norwegian.--Solotaig (talk) 16:38, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

North Sea commercial divers in court

I am thinking about writing an article about Offshore divers v. Norway 2008 .

Does anyone have any other links [4], [5]? Solotaig (talk) 11:12, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been proposed for deletion [6]. Clearly a controversial subject.--Solotaig (talk) 13:24, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that WP:PROD is improper for the article in question. No need to tell another editor to "buzz off", though. Regards, decltype (talk) 13:32, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In case anybody is interested in helping out, I just wanted to note in addition to the template that he has copied from both print and online sources (see, for example, the comments at Talk:Norsemen) and has split without attribution from other Wikipedia articles. In that case, it can be a simple matter of attribution as per Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia, although many of these instances I've found have been forks that have already been reverted. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :/ --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:01, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FK Lyn

The elite football group of SFK Lyn, called FK Lyn was bankrupted last year. But the Lyn are back - and will be playing in 2012 Norwegian Third Division. What should we do with the articles?

"FK Lyn was a football club" and "Lyn Fotball is a football club playing in Norwegian Third Division"

or

"FK Lyn was bankrupted in 2010, but started to play in 2011 Norwegian Fourth Division" ?

When I read the article about SFK Lyn, it seems clear to that FK Lyn is still bankrupt, and the team playing in next years 3. Division is SFK Lyn or Lyn Fotball.

But anyways - I think the way the FK Lyn article is now, is very misleading. Any thoughts ? Mentoz86 (talk) 14:16, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I haven't looked at the articles but this is correct: FK Lyn was not a club, but was the elite football branch of the multi-sports club SFK Lyn. FK Lyn does not exist anymore. Lyn Fotball is not a club either, but co-existed with FK Lyn as the "low-key" football branch of SFK Lyn, but since mid-2010 it is the only football branch of SFK Lyn. Lyn Fotball does field a men's senior team in the Third Division, following promotion from the Fourth Division in 2011. Geschichte (talk) 22:30, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Signpost check

Wikimedia Norway was awarded this week, as covered in the Signpost. However, I don't speak Norwegian, and all of the reference articles are in Norwegian, so I've used Google Translate to collate the information. I would like a native speaker (I assume there are some in this project, no? (= ) to go over it to make sure I didn't omit/embelish/mess up anything, in particular the quotes. Thanks, ResMar 02:19, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
