Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my page. --Nlu (talk) 07:18, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Legend of Zelda series

I have no objection to the removal of 'celebrated'; it's superfluous info, but I don't think it conveys a POV. It is pretty easy to document that Miyamoto is celebrated — just read the article about him to see the accolades and honors bestowed upon him. I just wanted to tone it down from what said before: 'legendary' :)mjb 00:24, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Legendary is definitely unecessary. Pegasus1138 00:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With apologies for the impersonal AWB-ness of the message... Thanks for your support on my recent request for adminship. It passed at 91/1/0, and I hope I can continue to deserve the community's trust. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you, and if I make a mistake be sure to tell me. My talk page is always open. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:49, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure you receive many thanks for your reverting of vandalized user pages, but I really do appreciate it. Grika 16:21, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for supporting my successful request for adminship. I'll try to put the admin tools to good and responsible use. If I do anything wrong you know where to find me. Raven4x4x 08:46, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Hi! Thanks for your support in my request for adminship. It ended with a tally of (51/0/0). As an administrator, I hope to better help this project and its participants: if you have any question or request, please let me know (I also plan to eat less Web cookies in the future, but that's another story ;-). - Liberatore(T) 12:35, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For the links you posted ([1], [2], [3]), which ones were you having problems with? And what browser are you using? I tried all three in Firefox, and Internet Explorer, and they all seemed to work properly. Can you be more specific about what problems you're seeing? --Interiot 15:47, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Community assent

Hello. Thanks for your vote on Wikipedia:Miscellany_for_deletion/Wikipedia:Community_assent. I disagree with the deletion, as the guidelines are to let proposals go through an approval or rejection. If the proposal is really not accepted, I rather have it rejected properly. I hope there are parts that do work for validation. I see you disagree and think that it is an "end-run" despite the evidence that clearly shows the attempts originated a year ago rather then recently because of a 3RR. Consider that the 3RR page was my first attempt to update some policy text and this proposal is my first attempt to create a guideline, I'm shocked that a few users labeled it an "end-run" attempt. I had to look up the expression to understand it! :) Well, again... hello! Welcome to Wikipedia! — Dzonatas 21:11, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Thank you for your support in my request for adminship. I'm delighted that the RfA succeeded with a final consensus of 52/17/7, and receiving comments including having 'excellent potential to become a great moderator', and I am now an administrator. It did however only just pass, and I shall do my very best to rectify any of my errors, including the general belief that I should do more article work. If you have any concerns, or if you ever feel that I may be able to help you, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Again, thank you!

My RfA

I'm leaving this macrophage, a particularly hungry white blood cell on your talk page, I just finished a rewrite of its article and realized they're not so different from administrators, as they keep their surroundings clean, doing away with anything that's not supposed to be there...
Anyway, with that short lecture on cell biology done with, I'd like to thank you for your vote on my RfA, which passed with (49/2/0), I'll do my best to not let you down, and if you see me heading towards a common newbie mistake, please nudge me in the right direction :)

Rollback

Just so you know, rollback isn't limited to administrators. Anyone can implement it with some simple javascript code (which is widely available), and produce edit summaries like "Reverted edits by X to last version by Y". It's just a simple way of reverting when the change is trivially obvious. — 0918BRIAN • 2006-03-9 21:06

Sockpuppet?

It is highly unusual for a user to be so familiar with Wikipedia's policies, procedures, and inner-workings from the very beginning of their editing here, which is something you've been doing since your very first edits. Can you explain this? — 0918BRIAN • 2006-03-9 21:15

  • So you could just be a separate account of a current user who is neither a vandal, troll, blocked, or banned? I would just like to know how you became so knowledgeable prior to making edits. — 0918BRIAN • 2006-03-9 22:31
    • Looks fine to me, fwiw - David Gerard 22:53, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

Hi. You've just edited Apple Records discography with a summary of "clean up using AWB". What kind of cleanup just destubs an obviously incomplete article? --kingboyk 03:32, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Despite being incomplete the article is obviously too long to be considered a stub. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 03:34, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Considered by whom?
Wikipedia:Stub: "Stubs are Wikipedia entries that have not yet received substantial attention from the editors of Wikipedia, and as such do not yet contain enough information to be considered real articles. In other words, they are short or insufficient pieces of information and require additions to further increase Wikipedia's usefulness."
Who ever heard of a discography without albums?
AWB is a very powerful tool and I'd caution you to use it carefully. In particular, if you're destubbing then change the edit summary to reflect that. You didn't clean the article at all, you simply destubbed it. --kingboyk 03:38, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop right now. This is a pointless edit [4] and so is [5] this. I've removed you from the AWB list temporarily and will issue a short block to enforce that removal if you don't stop using AWB right now, and go back and read the rules about it's usage. You have broken pretty much every rule on that list. --kingboyk 03:56, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As per discussion on my talk page I've added you back. --kingboyk 04:16, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

vandalism

Excuse me Mr(s). Pegasus1138, but you are accusing the wrong person. It is Netscott, who reversed my edits again, who is the vandal. Repeating a religios insult, we should just report about, is vandalism and not linkimaging the blasphemous cartoons. Raphael1 12:27, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiethics

Based on the discussion at other places, I suspect it is not going to fly anywhere as soon as they bring it up for voting. If they just leave it as it is without voting, I am perfectly happy to nominate it for deletion. And just let them go for the time being, what you do is also censoring. --KimvdLinde 00:12, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

justify?!?!

Regarding the reversion of my contribution on Submission (film): I never wanted to justify anything. I just wanted to add to the film description. What a sick thought, that a transparent dress in a film could justify murder!! Raphael1 01:57, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism and Violation

It is a polite warn to you that you are already violating Wiki policies. You are vandalizing Wikipedia:Wikiethics discussion page. And you are violating 3R rule. We the editors of the page already decided to have a poll later whan the policy is mature. You do not have the right to start a poll or destruct the information in it. Stop vandalizing. You can of course try to contribute to the page for an improvement. I can see that you prefer starting an edit war and vandalizing. YOur choice... Resid Gulerdem 02:17, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why do not respect to the community. We decided to have the poll later. Why you cannot see this point? WHen it is mature, we definitely look for a poll. Why you are taking this issue so personal. If it not a good policy, it will already be rejected. Please stop adding polls or whatever in contrast to the desire of the community contributing to the project. Resid Gulerdem 02:30, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3RR Warning

This is a warning that you are currently in violation of WP:3RR. Considering that this seems like a fairly minor issues I don't see why either of you should be blocked but please discuss instead of edit warring. JtkieferT | C | @ ---- 02:45, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

copyvio reversions to Dreyfoos School of the Arts

Hi, just wanted to let you know your reversion of Dreyfoos School of the Arts for copyvio, actually isn't. DSOA is a public school, therefore the audition requirements, presented by the school, are from a government source. SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 21:37, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning 1-4

You already vandalized the poll 4 times today. Will you stop?

You are the one started a poll. How come you cannot tolerate another poll? Resid Gulerdem 23:20, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My suggestion to you would be: Stop prototyping and prejudges. Be civil and try to discuss your ideas. This policy will be good for wiki. We can improve it together. At the points we are not getting an agreement, we can even start a poll for each section. Try to be constructive not destructive. I started thet poll right after you started. I really want to get community opinion for it. You cannot do anything good by vandalizing and destructing. I am open to your ideas as well. Let us chose the human way to solve the problem: let us start a constructive discussion. Resid Gulerdem 23:56, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot

Your bot is going nuts and keeps substing Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. Whenever it gets reverted back, your bot shows up and does it again. tv316 01:38, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot

Could you please stop your bot from editing Wikipedia:Vandalism. The templates there are deliberately not transcluded. Thanks. -Splashtalk 01:39, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That might be a good idea. Talk to User:Tawker, he had some ideas about this and may have fixed his local copy. Honestly, though, I'm not really sure that all these bots batting around making what are essentially useless edits are necessary anyway. I mean, so they save a microgram of server strain on transclusions, but those pages aren't visited anything like often enough for that to matter and it uses up server space in saving the new revisions. -Splashtalk 01:53, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are going to run this to subst user warning templates, add -namespace:3 to the end of the command string when you execute the module (main = 0, talk: = 1, user: = 2, user talk: = 3, etc...). — Mar. 23, '06 [05:00] <freakofnurxture|talk>

I have uploaded, and propose supporting the original, unmodified scan due to historical significance. If you agree, please feel free to re-consider your vote. Greetings, --Janke | Talk 14:35, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you added a warning to a user. This is just a friendly reminder to please remember to subst the warning as per WP:SUBST :) — File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (TCW) 01:44, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An idea to avoid subst a template while it is vandalized

I realized that a potential problem with this bot could be that it may do a subst while a template is vandalized. I figure the best was to avoid this is to not subst any template that has been modified in the last 2 hours. Any vandalism is likely to be caught in 2 hour. Just an idea. HighInBC 14:34, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That would be almost impossible to do well, an easier solution would be for me to manually check the templates that I'm going to subst to make sure that they haven't been vandalized since that would be fairly easy. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 21:03, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I do not understand why this would be impossible, just check the history of the template and grab the time/dat of the last modification every 10 minutes or so. Perhaps I am speaking from ignorance though. HighInBC 21:31, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bot subst, namespace

Could you restrict your subst bot to just the User talk namespace? That's really the only place where these templates should be used in subst'ed form. I keep finding my personal welcome message pages, in the User namespace, (with a un-subst'ed generic {{welcome}} as a current comparison) edited by your bot. — TheKMantalk 06:32, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The issue wasn't with the namespace it was running in it was that I was doing multiple tasks at once and somehow they overlapped. It shouldn't happen again and thanks for bringing it to my attention. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 06:36, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, great. Keep up the good work! =) — TheKMantalk 06:43, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Does this mean I can revert my sandbox to put the vandal templates back in and you won't revert me again? I keep them there for similar reasons, so I can have a look at the current versions on the infrequent occasions I do RC Patrol without having to plough through the template pages. You took them out twice yesterday morning, once with the python script, and then with AWB after I reverted. I didn't want to attempt an edit war with a bot :-) ~ VeledanTalk 18:28, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll set to ignore that page. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 20:34, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect change by your Bot ?

Hi. Pegasusbot just changed many articles, and left bad category pointers. For example Chris Hawkins or Clare McDonnell. It changed the category from 'Category:Radio DJs in the UK' to 'Category:Radio personalities in the UK' which doesn't exist ! Should I change it back manually ? What is going on ? Thanks. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc 22:14, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind reply. Okay, I will fix them back manually. Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc 22:23, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I fixed everything on my watchlist manually. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc 23:18, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PegasusBot

PegasusBot made this edit to my talk page. It appears to just add a redundant line of text. I was just wondering if there is any reason this was added to my talk page?

Cedars 10:44, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The bot appears to be adding the message whether or not it actually substitutes templates on the page. // Pathoschild (admin / talk) 10:53, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
That was/is due to two things,A. the templates are in a different format than I set the paremeters of the find/replace operation for, and/or B. which is a list error caused by either a crash and inccorrect restoration of an old input list or me putting in a template that I didn't actually set a find/replace template for. In the future please also give examples since that helps me know what I'm missing and what's going wrong so I can fix it. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 11:03, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I had prepared an example, but considered it unnecessary since the same error was duplicated in Cedars' comment, posted minutes before mine. // Pathoschild (admin / talk) 11:07, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I am curious why it is incumbant on you to Warn me or tell me I'm vandalizing a page, I was struggling to record the source. I think you should alllow ample time for one to make a contribution. Are you an administrator of some sort...if so it's explainable but still done in haste.Bairdso66

I'm not an administrator in the sense that I don't have the administrator specific tools however anyone can be an administrator in the sense of helping to administrate the site and to to enforce policy. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 19:46, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pegasusbot activities

Pegasusbot added the emergency shut off button on my bot's user page. The edit summary said I use AWB, which I don't. Secondly, I don't want the shut off button. It isn't actually a shut off button, it's a link to the block page - and admin's are familiar with that already. Also, where did you get the idea to go editing other people's bot's user pages?--Commander Keane 23:19, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did it because it is a useful as an immediate link for admins to use, also, check the edit summary it isn't saying you were using AWB it was saying that I was using AWB to add the notice. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 23:26, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's not useful (it is distracting, and there are already two links to the block page on the my bots user page), and thus that's just your opinion. I am asking you to not go adding unwated material to user pages (it'd be cool if you removed it from my bot's page too). Your bot doesn't have permission to do this stuff. The edit summary is ambiguous, and can be interpreted either way - you might consider using a comma or rewording it. - I can help you with that if you like.--Commander Keane 23:32, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As per your request I have stopped the bot pending further review of it's actions. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 23:35, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's just the user page editing that I'm worried about, you can continue to run it to subst templates and do category work.--Commander Keane 23:38, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't appreciate the button either. Too redundant and visually not-there. - ElAmericano (dímelo) 05:20, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help me identify a vandal

On your RfA page, I see that you are interested in blocking vandals. On that same page on March 17, you forgot to log in once and corrected yourself. Your IP address from this mistake was revealed to be 69.182.48.34. On March 28, someone from that IP address added a note on User_talk:69.182.48.34 saying that it "is registered to Canterbury High School (Connecticut) and is shared by multiple users." The note was added because this address was guilty of previous vandalisms. This information is confirmed by a dnsstuff.com lookup. Canterbury High School is a private boarding school with about 220 students boarding there. My problem is this: on February 12, someone from that IP address entered the new email address for Wikipedia-Watch.org on numerous ecommerce lists, so that the box would be flooded with spam. I believe that if this person was not you, then you at least know who did it. Out of 220 students, how many hang out on Wikipedia? I'm asking you to identify this vandal. What this vandal did is technically a felony. As far as I know, Wikimedia Foundation does not condone felonies. Daniel Brandt 18:19, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pegasus1138, thank you for supporting me in my recent RfA. Vandalism?

How exactly do my edits constitute vandalism? Jimbo Wales invites other users to edit his user page, and from everything I've seen, he appears to have a sense of humor. Do you seriously believe that his user page being humorous for one day will cause any harm at all to the encyclopedia? I agree April Fool's jokes in article space should not be allowed, but something like this seems like harmless fun to me. I'm not sure why you feel the need to keep humor away from Jimbo's user page. 3RR

Just warning you that you are on the verge of a 3RR. -- Jeff3000 00:51, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have no urge to violate 3RR (you are wrong btw I have 1 more before I'd be on the verge) but I find it infuriating that a group of editors are declaring consensus because they've given up fighting religious fanatics pushing their POV. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 00:55, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're right you haven't done a 3RR. It isn't just the Baha'i editors who have declared consensus. There were many editors would were not Baha'is and who are administrators who were involved in the discussion. Censorship is not happening here, the image is there for all to see, if anything the note and the section make the topic more visible for people who are not Baha'is. Secondly, even though the Baha'i editors don't like to see the image (even at the bottom) we have gone with the consensus, and keep putting back the image, when other random people (supposedly the random Baha'i) takes it down. So there is no religious fundamentalism here. Consensus was made, and we work with it. -- Jeff3000 01:03, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pegasusbot's adding subst: to <nowiki>'ed templates

Hello there, mate. Your bot, in this edit, added subst: to a template that'd been <nowiki>'ed. The reason for the nowiki tags was so that I could tell the lad I was talking to use subst: for that template (mildly ironic, no?). Perhaps you could program your bot to not modify templates within nowiki tags? I can imagine this problem arising again on, say, help pages, etc. Anyway, I'm not here to complain, just thought you'd like to know. Cheers, Blackcap (talk) 03:59, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have blocked the bot for a while so you can fix this. Running this bot to subst a template outside those specified Wikipedia:Template substitution requires specific permission to be granted at Wikipedia:Bots. Talrias (t | e | c) 10:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pegasusbot and userspace pages

Is there any way to stop Pegasusbot doing substitutions on my user talk page? I don't think the edits it makes there make sense, but I don't want to have to keep reverting them. — ciphergoth 07:03, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

substing commented templates

Hello, the bot has subst'd template tags that were commented. As far as I know this tags were used so an editor could identify which template was used to insert some template text, since subst was used when inserting it. Example: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:67.52.164.133&diff=46838041&oldid=45731898 --A/B 'Shipper(talk) 20:19, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm currently working on various issues such as the substing of commented and nowiki surrounded template terms. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 20:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, ok. The bot is not running while you're working on it right? ;) --A/B 'Shipper(talk) 20:27, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, I have suspended the bot until further notice due to the issues with it. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 20:28, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio

Why is it a copyvio to have a photo from Commons on my page? -- Boris Malagurski 03:31, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please answer my question? -- Boris Malagurski 03:46, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Image is tagged as fairuse and WP:FAIR blatantly states that fair use images cannot be used outside of the article namespace and even in the article namespace they can only be used in a narrow range of articles. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 13:34, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pegasusbot

Hey; I just noticed a way Pegasusbot could be improved. It substitutes templates on user talk pages, right? Well, I found that it misses templates that are included with "Template:" explicitly there, for instance, see User talk:Makedonec, where it left an un-substed NPA warning that was included as {{Tempalte:NPA}} but did subst the welcome template! I may be wrong about what pegasusbot's inefficiency is, but it's something... that was a very weird contribution. Mangojuice 05:16, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's been requested that templates enclosed in nowiki tags be ignored by the bot but thanks for bringing this up. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 00:48, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing redirects

Why are you using Pegasusbot to edit pages just to change links to point directly to their redirect target? See Wikipedia:Redirect#Don't fix links to redirects that aren't broken. "Most especially, there should never be a need to replace [[redirect]] with [[direct|redirect]]." --TreyHarris 15:37, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approvals#User:Pegasusbot_expansion_of_usage for info. on that. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 01:59, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is also only a guideline so it is not binding. Pegasus1138Talk | Contribs | Email ---- 02:01, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm still doing the page can you wait til its done first? I'll notify you when
