The President of the Maldives is the Head of State and Head of Government and first citizen of the Republic of Maldives and the Commander-in-Chief of the Maldives National Defence Force.
The current President is Mohammed Waheed Hassan Manik, popularly known as Baagee Waheed by the Supporters of the Maldivian Democratic Party, who came into power after the resignation of Mohamed Nasheed on 7 February 2012.[1][2][3]
