Miss Universe 1969, the 18th edition of the Miss Universe pageant, was held in Miami Beach, Florida, USA.Martha Vasconcellos crowned her successor to Gloria Diaz of the  Philippines.A twenty-two-year-old Miss Philippines. Ms. Diaz became the first filipina beauty queen titleholder to win the pageant and the third Asian to do so.Gloria Diaz beat 61 contestants from all around the world.
