Just in case anyone wants to talk to me.... Peridon (talk) 20:42, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The rest of this is archived somewhere. There's a nice little bot comes in and tidies up. (Could do with one at home...) A very kind person has organised an archive box that even has a search bar in it. (No beer, though...)

PLEASE ADD MESSAGES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE SO THAT I WILL SEE THEM. I LOOK THERE FIRST. Post at the top and you risk being missed altogether. Thanks. Do put a heading inside == == and sign with ~~~~. If you don't get a reply from me (or one of the stalkers...) within a reasonable time, you've probably not read this. If you have read it and ignored it, it's your own fault. If you haven't read it, READ IT NOW. Another reason to post at the bottom is that if you post at the top and someone else posts at the bottom, I'll see their message, but won't suspect there's another. Up to you. Ignore this if you want. Just don't blame me.

Please explain more

the page that I made is about company which invent new products for environmental purpose and you can not find any topics in this field which is really important. I do not want to advertise the company but how can I describe new products in the world without reference? Turnado3000 (talk) 16:42, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear. I've just found that your article is an almost straight copy and paste from http://www.environmental-expert.com/companies/ides-canada-inc-47095 - but that's not why it was deleted. (It should have been discovered, but wasn't. Copyright text cannot be brought into Wikipedia because WP is licensed under CC-BY-SA for free use by anyone anywhere provided WP is acknowledged as the source. Copyright text is not licensed in this way and so cannot be used here - WP:COPYVIO.) Anyway, back to why it actually was deleted. The wording was promotional (which is what company sites and directory entries are supposed to be - but encyclopaedias aren't). Saying things like "tailored to satisfy the requirements of any situation" is not encyclopaedic. It was not as bad as a lot we get - one was so full of buzz words that I never found out what the company did. Please read WP:CORP about corporate notability, and WP:RS about the reliable AND independent sources needed to prove it. If you want to try again, you must use fresh text that isn't a close paraphrase of the source, and you must show that the company has fairly widespread coverage away from the run of the mill directory entry and company supplied info things. Wikipedia is free to edit, but we have rules about what stays on, and not every company gets an article. The more specialised, out of public view, companies can't always be shown to be notable. It doesn't mean they aren't doing a good job. In fact, the vast majority of companies won't get articles. Just as not all the vast number of rappers, pastors, engineers, local council members, and junior schools won't. Peridon (talk) 18:38, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wellesley & Co

I would like to create a page for Wellesley & Co, which I note you have taken down before. Wellesley & Co is a peer-to-peer lending firm, which is quickly growing and is likely to soon be bigger than Zopa and Ratesetter. I would ensure that the content is objective and supported by high-quality references.

Thanks,Bonnyboy1988 — Preceding undated comment added 13:08, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

First, please sign talk page posts with ~~~~ which puts your sig and the datestamp on. OK. Size doesn't matter. Nor does quick growth. What is important is WP:CORP and proving it with reliable AND independent sources WP:RS. Also, making sure you don't fall foul of WP:SPAM or WP:PEACOCK. (We do have some interesting names for policies and guidelines - there's even a WP:DUCK...) The Zopa article is very close to the borderline, IMO. Create a draft at User:Bonnyboy1988/DRAFT (right click, open in new something and save). You're safe there from patrollers, except for copyright violation (if it's been published anywhere, don't copy it), attack (saying how rubbish a competitor is without proof), or promotion (do use a very boring tone and fight the buzz words and enthusiasm off - and keep the PR people out of the room - or preferably, out of the building...), or hoaxing (I assume the company DOES exist?). Ask for advice. Not me, I probably won't be online after today until next week. Most admins are willing to give advice, as are most regular editors. Some are grumps, though. Try again elsewhere if you get one. Or ask MelanieN who isn't an admin but knows a lot of what's what. Here's what ~~~~ does when I type it (it'll be different for you, of course): Peridon (talk) 13:45, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion when creating a page for an influential instrumental album

Hello Peridon, good day

hello I am new to Wikipedia and still learning the ropes, getting the hang of it.

I am email because of the following message I got below.

23:28, 23 March 2011 Peridon (talk | contribs) deleted page Heavy migration (A9: Non-notable music by artist with no Wikipedia article)

the artist is notable and already has a Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dday_One

Please help me out. thank youBurns Rogy (talk) 17:52, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

An artist can be notable, even if individual albums aren't. Origamite\(·_·\)(/·_·)/ 17:54, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If you check the date of the creation of the artiste's article, you will see that it was a year after I'd deleted the album. A9 was OK. Peridon (talk) 20:40, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You deleted a page I created for CDH Proton Center. I created this page because a friend works there and there wasn't a listing currently. I can revise the post if necessary. Please help, thank you.
