Wrestling Career

I have added a resume of his British career. If you want more, let me know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Woodlow (talkcontribs) 15:00, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article could certainly use some details on Lord Alfred's career as a wrestler. - 66.93.144.171 07:16, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

...particularly his pre-WWF years. He was quite active in the NWA, spending much time in Florida and Georgia as a heel and a manager. 66.217.50.209 20:07, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

Alfred Hayes (wrestler)Lord Alfred Hayes – As the intro states, Hayes was best known for his time as a broadcaster in WWF, where he was known as Lord Alfred Hayes. The majority of the sources refer to Hayes as Lord Alfred Hayes, making it his WP:COMMONNAME. LM2000 (talk) 05:52, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestler's common names are generally nicknames, or more specifically the ring names which they are billed by. Virgil Runnels is Dusty Rhodes (wrestler), Steve Williams is Stone Cold Steve Austin, etc. In this case, Hayes was known as Lord Alfred Hayes. A fictional title of nobility for sure, but not so different from fictional lords such as Lord Farquaad or Lord Voldemort. Had wrestling announcer/sporadic wrestler Michael Cole, who in a storyline was knighted, appeared as frequently under the Sir Michael Cole (currently a redirect) moniker as Hayes' did, a move request wouldn't have been totally out of the question there.Although "Lord Alfred Hayes" appeared three times, I added two more mentions, hopefully adding clarity.LM2000 (talk) 21:06, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The issue regarding the nickname has been fixed and the newly written lead Alfred George James Hayes (August 8, 1928 – July 21, 2005) was an English professional wrestler, manager and commentator, best known for his appearances in the United States with the World Wrestling Federation between 1982 and 1995 where he was known as Lord Alfred Hayes. should make it clear to anyone that he is not a real lord. I think this issue is resolved.--70.49.80.26 (talk) 00:16, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
