The Modern School (informally Modern School or Modern) is a independent day-cum-boarding school in New Delhi, India founded in 1920 by Lala Raghubir Singh, a prominent Delhi philanthropist and businessman. The founders foresaw a school combining the best of Indian tradition and modern modes of pedagogy. The school's first principal was Mrs. Kamala Bose, who moved from Calcutta to take the reins of the school.

Old students of Modern School are commonly known as Modernites. Although the total number of Modernites is relatively small (estimated at 15,000 since the school was founded in 1920), they include some of India's most prominent politicians, government officials, and business leaders. The best known alumnus is former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
