Hi Kethrus, you reviewed my first article here on Wiki, about Bambora, and I want to work on my draft. However, I can't find it anymore... Could you please help me? Thanks :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by NIHA42 (talkcontribs) 14:00, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relating to Rockwills Group

Hi Kethrus,

Would appreciate if you could advice on the name drop you mentioned in your comment section. because the reference that was stated , http://www.thesundaily.my/news/835031 was talking about rockwills and the company, and the notability of the company as a will writing company. The article was providing examples of where wills was useful in the first paragraph, but eventually directed to rockwills.

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi, Im not clear by "Saw said", "Saw Noted". (referring to your comment on the main article) Because the source was an interview with the CEO by a notable newspaper. the article was talking about wills and trust in the country. please assist? what info should I add?
Also, just to clarify, there are other wiki pages like Alaf21, or Matahari books that apply the same format. would appreciate you feedback on this.

@Saraquattro88: Comparing referencing to other articles isn't a great idea, I'm referring to the articles references instead of the actual article, as they don't meet the guideline (WP:GNG). --  Kethrus |talk to me  08:50, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

LXL

Dear Kethrus, @Primefac:.

Thank you for all your help yesterday.

I have made a declaration on my website as requested.

You can find it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Yanalfailat#COI_declaration

Can you please tell me if there is anything that needs to be changed in the article to get it accepted.

I have redrafted any statements that may be deemed promotional and ensured that the references are sourced from third parties.

I did refer to the firm's website to footnote the number of lawyers - purely factual.

Please do advise.

Best wishes

Yanalfailat (talk) 09:26, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Yanalfailat: I recommend adding {{paid|employer=[[Draft:LXL|LXL LLP]]}} to your userpage, it's much clearer than what is currently on your userpage. Helping you is no problem at all, and if you need any help at all feel free to use the {{help me}} template or your talk page, or contact me on my talk page. --  Kethrus |talk to me  09:32, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus: - many thanks can you please advise me on any other issues relating to the draft? Yanalfailat (talk) 09:34, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Yanalfailat: There is a problem with sources from LXL LLP, as they are WP:PRIMARY and do not establish notability, and there's no proof any of those claims are true, sources need to be independent of the subject (LXL and people affiliated with LXL must have nothing to do with the sources for them to be reliable). As for the other sources - I haven't checked. I also must state there could probably be more in the History section of the page, as Primefac has said in IRC there doesn't seem to be an awful lot of history of the company. --  Kethrus |talk to me  09:38, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What constitutes notability

Hi Kethrus

I have read the page on what constitutes notability. I wanted to check that if I could prove that John Wilcox developed the Woolmark that that would count as natability.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simontomp (talkcontribs) 11:40, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Simontomp: I don't think that's a claim to notability, as notability isn't usually inherited. Also remember that significant coverage on John Wilcox is needed, see WP:42. Please also remember to sign your messages with ~~~~ --  Kethrus |talk to me  12:09, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kethrus, I don't understand what you mean by "inherited". I think you may have misread my question. What I was trying to say is that if John Wilcox can be shown to have developed the Woolmark would that constitute notability for him? I hope that is clearer. --Simontomp (talk) 12:33, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Simontomp: I didn't misread it. By "inherited" I mean just because they've worked on something notable, doesn't necessarily make them notable (See WP:NRV). They need significant, independent coverage from news/books/magazines/etc to be notable. --  Kethrus |talk to me  12:37, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit on Prudential Overall Supply page

Hello,

Thank you for your note on why you reverted back my edit. I actually work for Prudential and one of the higher ups didn't like that the Irvine location was mentioned twice so he asked me to change it. I didn't think it was a big deal, but if it doesn't make any sense to change it to you than I will let him know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TiffanyAnnS (talkcontribs) 17:50, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@TiffanyAnnS: It wasn't the fact the location was removed, it's the fact a whole paragraph was removed. This was the paragraph:

In September 2015 Prudential overall Supply acquired operations of now bankrupt laundry firm Coyne International Enterprises in Virginia and South Carolina.

Unfortunately, the higher-ups don't get to decide what is said about their business, nor does anyone else. If it's factually correct - it stays. Also, as you work for the company - you must state that by adding the {{paid}} template to your user page, per the WMF Terms. Thank you for your understanding. --  Kethrus |talk to me  19:57, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus: Thanks for the response! The issue is that it's not actually true. It hasn't been approved by Bankruptcy court yet, it's not expected to go through until sometime in November possibly. Should there be an edit with that information instead? Also - I read the article that you linked to about the Paid Template but I'm not sure how to add that yet. I'm going to look for directions and will make the change asap. Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by TiffanyAnnS (talkcontribs)
@TiffanyAnnS: That's probably something you need to bring up on the talk page, as from what I saw it was properly referenced so shouldn't be removed without proper discussion. --  Kethrus |talk to me  16:34, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: AfC helpdesk response - Regarding this helpdesk question and this draft

Hi, In regards to your response, may I ask to you Kethrus if do so, give me some suggestions from you if what will be the correct & right sentence to the phrase " which is very common and popular by most good-looking & handsome men to do dubsmash"? How can I make construct of it??? Please make some more response what should be the right sentence? The explanation of it is, he is the most popular man who gain popularity in dubsmash in the Philippines especially the track "Twerk It Like Miley" among the other good-looking men. Tnx. --Mystywave18 (talk) 08:40, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Mystywave18: Calling someone "good-looking and handsome" is not adhering to a neutral point of view, it's an opinion. --  Kethrus |talk to me  08:47, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Kethrus Tell me sir, in what part of the draft that I wanted to be fixed? I read it again & again my draft but for me there's nothing a problem of it. It's OK. Please, help me. I beg it for you. tnx. -Mystywave18 (talk) 09:10, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus I am new one. So please give me some assistance of it. -Mystywave18 (talk) 09:12, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Mystywave18: I'd much rather you read the article for words like 'handsome' and 'good-looking', instead of me pointing out every little detail that's wrong with it. I'm not here to edit for you, I'm here to help you. You'll not be able to learn how to speak neutrally if I just point out a sentence and you only change that sentence. Please also read WP:NPOV and WP:PEA. --  Kethrus |talk to me  09:15, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Kethrus Yes sir, I got your point. And Im already deleted the words on my draft 'handsome' & 'good-looking'. try to look again to my draft. tnx -Mystywave18 (talk) 09:19, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mystywave18: Please remember to indent your messages. I'll take a look at the article now, and I do believe calling him an "internet sensation" sounds like puffery. References are also needed on the Personal life section of the article, as there are no references there. Some of the sentences aren't really understandable either, and I would try to improve that as much as possible before submitting it for review, as I said before I'm not just going to point out all the errors to you (I'll point you in the right direction, but it's not my responsibility to point out every individual sentence), as you'll only fix them, which you have shown multiple times now. --  Kethrus |talk to me  09:27, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus It's already ok sir. I've already revised of it.- Mystywave18 (talk) 10:27, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus I am sincerely apologize to you sir. Hope you will understand of it. But I want to THANK YOU for your assistance. I'm highly appreciated of it.- Mystywave18 (talk) 10:33, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mystywave18: I'm happy to help, just make sure to read over the article and improve it as much as you can. Also, add as many independent, reliable sources as you can. As it's a WP:BLP they are very strict policies to prevent any incorrect information getting through, and everything must be verifiable. --  Kethrus |talk to me  10:37, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus I hope you sir at this moment you will approved my draft since I've already revised & according to your suggestions, I've already fixed of it. I hope you never feel dissapointed to me. I have in good faith & polite one. tnx. -Mystywave18 (talk) 10:55, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mystywave18: Another reviewer will check the article over, it might take a month, rarely more. --  Kethrus |talk to me  08:23, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Submission declined, some of the secondary sources overlooked - Draft:Advanced Simulation Library

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hello Kethrus,

8 days ago I was looking for advises for my first article submission on the Wikipedia IRC channel and talked to you. Thank you for all the remarks you provided.

One of the issues was too high number of primary sources (which I reduced since then). This caused you to overlook the secondary sources and you declined the submission on the grounds of lack of notability. Later we (together with another user - JA95) went through the references and established that several of them fulfill Wikipedia's requirement for independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the subject (here they are #: 2, 11, 13, 14; I also added #1 later). The rest of the references, probably do not fulfill all the requirements, but (together with Google/Bing/Wikipedia search) do provide some hints on the significance of the subject. Both of us had no more time back then and left the draft as it was. I have resubmitted the article but now I'm afraid that new reviewer might rely on your decision wrongly assuming that you checked all the sources and found them unfit. S/He will see that no new references have been added to the article and decline it again.

Maybe you would agree to resolve this situation in one of the following ways?

  • you will review my re-submission, since you know the background.
  • you will revert your decision and the new reviewer will start the process from scratch without any assumptions.
  • we will leave it as it is, just add a comment with a link to this talk page.
  • any other suggestions?

Thank you! SimulaModel (talk) 09:51, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@SimulaModel: Pinging JAaron95. First of all, I'll not be reverting my decision. If it's notable, references from google/bing/etc must be added to the article to establish notability, we review articles based on what is placed within it. A good reviewer will never decline an article based on previous declines, they'll check over the whole article, and if they still agree with the previous decline - it'll be declined based on that (or another reason - whatever they see fit) or may be accepted. --  Kethrus |talk to me  09:57, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus:, OK, let's hope the new reviewer will be a good one :) SimulaModel (talk) 10:09, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article on Gerald Schwarz

Hello again. Can you tell me how one contacts the reviewer who left the tag: This biographical article needs additional citations for verification, as a more targeted directive is needed to address the issue. That is, I'm confused about what s/he is looking for, since all claims are linked to peer-reviewed journal articles and professional websites. Thanks, Margery — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.115.137.115 (talk) 13:52, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@146.115.137.115: That doesn't appear to be needed, FoCuSandLeArN accepted the draft. Also, please remember to sign your comments with ~~~~ --  Kethrus |talk to me  13:59, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@146.115.137.115: The tag was placed due to the fact all references are non-independent or his own work. We require citations from independent and reliable sources, especially for biographical information. This is not a grave matter, given he passes WP:PROF, but it would certainly improve the article's quality, hence the tag. I also advise you to be careful with what you add to the article at this point. I cleaned the article considerably before accepting it, and you seem to be trying to reinstate some of the stuff I removed (I'm assuming your username is KravitzSchwarz). If you're involved with the subject in any way (or you're indeed Schwarz) I suggest you request edits be made to the article, or otherwise place your suggestions on the article's talk page. Article with lack of reliable sources - Georgy Mihailovich Kondratiev

Dear Kethrus, you reviewed my article, devoted to Georgy Mihailovich Kondratiev and decide that article need mode reliable sources. I add two references to the reliable sources. First one is ITMO University virtual Museum article, devoted to Georgy Kondratiev. Second is reference to ITMO University book The Best Scientists of ITMO. I hope this is enough for this article. Looking forward to you decision! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Latosh Boris (talkcontribs) 16:08, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Latosh Boris: A good standard is to have at least 3 to 4 references per article. If you can find any more references, and back up everything said in the article - the tag can be removed. Please remember to sign your comments with ~~~~ --  Kethrus |talk to me
@Kethrus: I add two more references to Russian newspapers with articles, devoted to Georgy Mihailovich Kondratiev at the article page. Should I add few more references? Latosh Boris (talk) 17:10, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Latosh Boris: The sources seem okay, at a glance the information seems correct, but I can't really confirm much for sure because I don't speak Russian. Feel free to remove the tag, but be aware another user may add that more sources are needed. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. --  Kethrus |talk to me  17:43, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Astaş Holding

Dear Kethrus,

I saw your notification on the deletion of my Astas Holding text. Can you please explain why it is different from other real estate developer's pages here on Wikipedia such as DAMAC Properties, Emaar Properties or Berkeley Group Holdings ? I read through these before writing my text and at this point cannot see the difference. Do I need more sources? If yes, can these be also in another language or do they have to be in English? Would be great to know what needs to be changed to make this article acceptable for Wikipedia.

Thank you very much for your reply in advance.

Best regards,

@MMA1960:. I'm not the deleting admin, I just tagged it for deletion - it was advertising. It's useless comparing a company to another company if it doesn't meet WP:42, or if the article reads like an advertisement. Wait for someone unaffiliated with the company to write about it, if it's notable it'll probably happen. Please remember to sign your comments with ~~~~. 13:17:16, 13 October 2015 review of submission by Dranod

I'm quite new to Wikipedia formatting, However - can you please clarify specifically what points need sources cited? The reference to air-crewmen killed in the area is derived from paper records at the museum, and is a little difficult to link to.Dranod (talk) 13:17, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Additional: - I took some time to look closely at what I had done - Clearly I had not understood the prupose of citations - I have attemopted to rectify it to the best of my ability, and correctly reference and cite the facts.Dranod (talk) 13:58, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Dranod: Take a look at WP:REFBEGIN as that'll help you, also instead of linking to the article ref, link directly to the reference or copy the reference and say you got the reference from X article in your edit summary, as the current referencing is not sufficient. --  Kethrus |talk to me  14:11, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus: I have since attempted to reference individual sections of pages pertaining to the statement. I have also managed to dig up the ISBN of a book that was referenced, and by some kind of whichcraftery, managed to cite-a-citation from another page that references the same passage. I hope that this will be sufficient as I have resubmitted. As it's 1:20am here - it will be my last submission for a while.Dranod (talk) 14:19, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Dranod: I can't see any new edits regarding referencing on that page. I advise you re edit in the morning as editing while sleep deprived is often frustrating. Happy editing! --  Kethrus |talk to me  14:36, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Dranod: Also, enabling ProveIt will help you a lot. (HERE). --  Kethrus |talk to me  14:38, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Kethrus: Second review was declined, but much more informative - and specified exactly what point required citation. I had been focused on the minor points, and had not considered the relevance of the bigger picture. I'll sit on this for a few days while I can pull out the paper documents to cite. This may mean scanning and uploading some of them somewhere.Dranod (talk) 23:31, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Dranod: The references still point to another article. Those reference numbers also can and will change. You need to get them directly from the article. --  Kethrus |talk to me  09:52, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I had a thought or two

Feel free to call me an interfering old scrote and ignore the thoughts.

Just like you I started my AFC and AFCH 'career' knowing I was right. As I progress I realise that I am by no means always so. I became, I hope, kinder in my comments and reviews while never letting go of the focus of the message I wanted to impart. I've watched your comments to the editors and they reminded me of me in my earlier days. If I am better in my later days than I was in my earlier ones, may I encourage you to emulate my style of imparting increasing information with increasing kindness?

And yes, some folk exasperated me still! (not you!) Fiddle Faddle 15:53, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to agree with you, I believe it may be the fact I can type as fast as I think, and getting my thoughts down quickly is something I often do without considering how it may be interpreted (and maybe not reading over it a few times), even I often interpret my own comments later as rude (maybe not the word, I can't think of the right word to use). I'll try and encourage myself to slow down a little, which I believe would help me greatly. Thanks for the message, I do appreciate constructive criticism (although it may not always come across that way). --  Kethrus |talk to me  16:15, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad I didn't upset you. I, too, think-type. In reviews I have developed, gradually, a standard (and ever evolving) set of paragraphs. This gives me more time to think. You are welcome to plagiarise mine, if you like. They are linked from my user page. That approach may give you the brain space you need to be even more helpful to our new editors. I'm responding to your message to me? Confused? - AfC helpdesk

Here is my question, I have two different messages and I'm confused: Are my references not reliable OR is the problem (why my article was rejected) one of citation?Wordsprite (talk) 15:45, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Wordsprite: The problem is the references aren't formatted correctly, as I said before. Please use the Wikipedia referencing style which is generally accepted by reading WP:REFBEGIN. --  Kethrus |talk to me  16:00, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry and Confused by instructions

Oct. 16, 2015

Hello,

First of all, thank you for your response. I tried to respond back but I don't know if it worked or not? I'm used to just typing a message in an email, addressing it to the person's email address and pressing "Send".

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong form? I'm very confused by all the directions and use of computer code to send messages?

What are "templates" - I received a message in a blue box (on this same page that I am typing this)?

What does "WP:Refbegin" mean? If I click on it will it bring me to my Draft page where I can edit?

How do I find my Draft page, (I've clicked on all kinds of tabs and even tried typing in various combinations of words in the Search box but I can't seem to get back there)? If I do find my Draft page to try to edit the citations do I type in WP-Refbegin in the Search box in order to use it there? If I'm on my Draft page, how do I access this WP:Refbegin thing to use in order to edit? What is User:ProveltGT? Again, if I click on that will it connect me to my Draft in order to use it? If not, and I do find my Draft page (let's assume I'm on the Draft page for this question), how do I incorporate User:ProveGT, access User:ProveItGT without losing my Draft page? I don't know how to connect the two.

Wiki uses a much more complex system for its users to use - lots of symbols and computer code, and clicking on something is risky because if you lose the page you were on there is a good chance you won't find it again even if you type in what you're looking for in the Search box. I tried going to Sandbox to see if that might help. I've tried reading the pages of instructions but the instructions are not clear and usually include information that I'm unfamiliar with. When I try to find out each piece I'm confused with, I just end up getting lost in a sea of Wiki information that has nothing to do with what my initial question was in the first place. I know that all of this is not your fault and I am not blaming you. I'm frustrated and help seems to be only in the form of typing in a complex formatted way and I don't understand who these messages are getting to. I've sent (at least I think I've sent) messages seeking help but I have no idea how to check back because I don't know where the pages are where that particular form of message was sent? I'm not even sure if this will reach you.

Thank you for responding to my question. I now understand that Wiki wants me to put my citations into the Wiki format--I am going to need someone to go through this with me. I have read (read and tried to understand) all the Wiki stuff on citing but again, very complex and full of computer code-type instructions that don't make sense to me. I need a live human being to talk to to untangle this mess with me. I tried using Kiwi live chat last night and the first person's shift ended before we'd finished so I was dropped, the second person even though I'd restated the exact same question I had to the first person just asked me if I was an editor -- this made no sense to me. I answered "no" and then I was asked if I'd edited on some specifically named wiki page (can't remember what it was) which also had nothing to do with my question. I tried to explain that I needed more explanation because I didn't understand what I was being asked and then that person dropped me. I tried a third time, typing my original question to yet a third person who completely ignored my question and I just kept seeing the same repeated message of "Welcome Wordsurfer. Please type your message in the box below..." over and over again. I finally gave up.

I need to talk to a person; someone who I can work with over the phone in real time while I am on my computer so that I can figure out the Wiki system of interfacing with the public.

Please help me. thank you, WordspriteWordsprite (talk) 16:30, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Wordsprite: Click WP:REFBEGIN and you'll see a page which will teach you how to add references. It's a link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Referencing_for_beginners. If you can't find the page after you've been to it, consider noting it down or bookmarking it in your browser (I've been using Wikipedia for almost a year now, and that's what I do). I'm not sure if English is your native language, and we'll help as much as possible in #wikipedia-en-help connect but it can be quite difficult, answering the helpers questions is usually the best thing to do so we can help you, by asking what article you're editing they meant what page you're editing (in this case, your draft). The person telling you to type your message in the box below is just a bot to help people use the chat (it's an automated message that is said when you join), and isn't an actual person. Also, just to clarify - we're not "working shifts" or anything of the sort, we're just regular people (like you!) who want to make Wikipedia better and easier to edit for everyone (and aren't getting paid or anything like that). You say you've checked through everything regarding references, but as the reason I said to look at the help page I've previously linked is you may not have seen it before. Also read THIS PAGE (CLICK) on ProveIt (a "gadget" on Wikipedia) which will help you add referencing in the standard format. --  Kethrus |talk to me  19:23, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gerald Schwarz Article

Dear Kethrus,

It's my understanding that Gerald Schwarz wrote to you granting permission to use his photo. He can be reached at Schwarz@Brandeis.edu, if you want to verify this.

Whereas, the photo appears on his Brandeis web page, it's a photo that was derived from his personal collection. He uploaded the photo to the Brandeis web page, himself, along with the other information currently displayed on his web page(s). I'll upload a different photo. But, this one happens to be my favorite, so if it's okay to keep it, please let me know.

As a holder of several patents, I value intellectual property law very much and appreciate that you were thorough enough to find and question this. Sincerely, Margery — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.115.137.115 (talk) 15:57, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking an editor who can assist -- my bio is being considered for deletion

My name is Tolly Burkan. If you Google my name, you will see I have worked hard for 38 years to show that firewalking is not paranormal and that anyone can do it. There are literally thousands of references that confirm this. I taught many celebrities, including Tony Robbins. Every mention of me is cited and referenced. However, there is a group of people who dislike me and are attempting to remove my name wherever it appears in Wikipedia. Their disruptive editing and vandalism is on just three pages: Tony Robbins, Tolly Burkan, and Firewalking. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Robbins, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tolly_Burkan, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firewalking) Now, after being in Wikipedia for maybe 10 years, I am being considered for deletion on the basis I am not "notable." I have been written about in over 70 books, including these books by mainstream publishers: HEAT by Bill Streever Little, Brown and Company 2013, THE FOUR SPIRITUAL LAWS OF PROSPERITY by Edwene Gaines Rodale Books 2005, FIREWALKING AND RELIGIOUS HEALING by Loring M. Danforth, Ph.D. Princeton University Press 1989, HARPER'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MYSTICAL AND PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE by Rosemary Ellen Guiley Harper Collins 1994, HEALING STATES by Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D. and Stanley Krippner, Ph.D. Simon & Schuster 1987, TOO MUCH IS NOT ENOUGH by Orson Bean Lyle Stuart 1988, DAVE BARRY'S GREATEST HITS by Dave Barry Ballantine Books 1988, FIREWALK: THE PSYCHOLOGY OF PHYSICAL IMMUNITY by Jonathan Sternfield Berkshire House 1992, SECRETS OF SUPERSTAR SPEAKERS by Lilly Walters McGraw-Hill 2000, MIND GAMES by Michael Powell Barnes & Noble 2004, LIFESTYLES OF THE RICH IN SPIRIT by Alan Cohen Hay House 1996, SWITCHED-ON LIVING by Jerry V. Teplitz, J.D., Ph.D.Hampton Roads Publishing 1994, DANCING WITH THE FIRE by Michael Sky Bear & Company 1989. If any editor takes the time to research me on Amazon.com, you can see all the other books that speak about me and my work. Over the years, people have expanded descriptions of my work in Wikipedia, and have put all the needed citations and references on the entries. There are hundreds of major newspapers that have featured me over the years, including: The Wall Street Journal April 18, 1989 "If Past-Life Trauma Has Got You Down, Firewalk May Help" by Christopher J. Chipello Front Page, Los Angeles Times April 11, 1984 "Firewalking: The Curious Hotfoot It to a New Fad" by Beth Ann Krier Front Page, The Washington Post June 6, 1984 "Daring Feet: A Hot Fad" Section B, Page 6, The New York Times May 31, 1980 "‘Day of Child’ Benefit Is Set for Tomorrow" by Dudley Clendinen Page 9, Chicago Tribune December 1, 1986 "Hot Feat: No Burning Desire to Walk on Fire" by Paul Galloway Section 5, Page 1, Philadelphia Inquirer May 1, 2002 "A Guru’s Guide to Firewalking and Forgiving" by Art Carey Section D, Page 1, Prevention Magazine January, 2003 "If You Can Walk on Fire" by Andrew Weil, M.D. Page 100. I'm not sure how much documentation I need to provide, but if you want more, I can give you hundreds, if not thousands, of newspapers, magazines and journals that cite my work. No matter how many references have been put on Wikipedia to make everything up to your standards, one man and his associates keep deleting valid facts and all necessary references. Is there any way to stop this? Thank you very much for looking into this. (tolly@tollyburkan.com) Also, where can I see how Wikipedia responds? Can you send me an email?73.12.138.134 (talk) 15:08, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't heard of you before, and I presume Primefac hasn't either. The deletion discussion points out something which is pretty valid. It's not people who dislike you that nominated it for deletion, please don't presume that - it's nothing personal. --  Kethrus |talk to me  15:16, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for responding

Thank you for responding. It is possible other editors have also responded, but I am not savvy enough to know my way around Wikipedia.

I read the policies and guidelines which say not to edit on features where I am mentioned. Since I am a part of firewalking history (Please don't take my word for this, but do a Google search) I was mentioned in three places: my bio (Tolly Burkan), also on firewalking and Tony Robbins. A man named Charles Horton and his associates kept deleting my name. I simply undid their unjustified deletion. I was not aware that this action is what you prohibit. CH and his friends also cut my bio down to about three sentences. The original bio was worded by a Wikipedia editor, so when I undid the deletions made by CH, I again was not aware that this action is prohibited.

As far as removing me from Wikipedia because I am not notable, a Google search will show that I am one of the key figures in the firewalking movement. I sent the following info to another editor to try to establish my "notability" by Wikipedia's standards.

My name is Tolly Burkan. If you Google my name, you will see I have worked hard for 38 years to show that firewalking is not paranormal and that anyone can do it. Hi, I did a massive rewrite of Roger De Clerck and added more sources, because the person who wrote it did indeed a very minimal job. Is it better now? - User:Kjell Knudde (21:34) 23 october 2015 (CET)

@Kjell Knudde: The article is certainly a lot better. Thank you for improving the article. The only thing that really sticks out now is the fact it relies heavily on reference #2, and more references would be helpful (they always are). --  Kethrus |talk to me  21:04, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help. I understand that the article submitted looks "essay like" rather than "encyclopaedic". I am trying to re-work on the wordings. However, regarding the comment "Submissions should summarise information in secondary, reliable sources and not contain opinions or original research". I am trying to figure out why. All information has been cited and references given. All data is based on news widely available on the web and mostly reputed publishing houses such as The Times of India Group, The Indian Express, The Hindu etc. I need more guidance on why the article looks more like original research. This will help me write better. Looking forward to your advice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siddarthbaliga (talkcontribs)

Hi Kethrus, DJ/Producers seem to be hard done to on Wiki. If the genre is underground and notability is unlikely to exist online. What amends can I make to prevent this article from deletion? I'm intending to write articles for several underground house artists who I felt are 'notable' enough due to chart success via online stores and there general following both online and offline. Cheers, Stu. Designer dj (talk) 20:49, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Designer_DJ Oct 27 20015 20.48[reply]

@Designer DJ: If they're notable enough they should have been independently written about by someone. For a small summary of the general not ability guideline see WP:42. Also reading about primary sources will help you (if it's them talking about themselves, or they have involvement in it, it's primary). --  Kethrus |talk to me  21:16, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again, would links to the artists works with Nancy Sinatra and K-Klass be suitable additions via updates to their pages? Or linking to the Music Week page? Lempo has had two top 40's in the Club Chart, which is regarded as a national chart. Perhaps also a link to the origin of the name Lempo. The pages for Sankeys and The Parklife Weekender could be linked also. Juno Download is a online download store which Lempo has achieved 3 number One sellers, possible link to the Juno page. COI tag

You added a conflict of interest tag to my article Duarte galactosemia. There is no conflict of interest as the purpose of the article is to disseminate the current research to the patient population in an accessible way. Currently there is very little information available to parents about DG. The article is also written in a neutral way that doesn't advocate for either side. Please consider removing this tag or else give me feedback that would allow me to edit the article appropriately to remove any apparent COI. Thanks. I did not write my article in an advertisement form, and i believe my article does have significance due to my perfected start and motives. Kethrus, I actually do have sources to support my claim. The only issue is that ever since I was a child people, and companies always tended to misspell my name. Instead of Olivier Murad, they will spell my name,"Oliver" Murad. If you search up, "Oliver Murad" or " Olivier Murad mma", you will find a lot of information about me. Citations, content added to college page

Hello,

Earlier this week I submitted a page, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:University_of_Wisconsin-Stevens_Point_College_of_Letters_and_Science, that was declined. You suggested it be improved with citations from reliable sources to better show the subject's notability. I have added more than 30 citations to the entry, as well as new sections and images. Please review it and let me know what you think, I am eager to resubmit for approval!

Regards,

@Scotttappa12: There's still not enough information within the actual article to distinguish it from the greater university. In most cases (that I've seen) individual colleges aren't notable themselves, even though the university is, as the college doesn't inherit notability. --  Kethrus |talk to me  14:50, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cythera (yacht) page

Hi Kethrus. I saw you added the Australian flag to my page and I thank you. However, Cythera was registered and entitled to fly the Blue Ensign...Union Jack in upper left corner, on a solid blue background. No stars. I have the original Warrant from the Office of the Lord High Admiral, dated June 6, 1962. Can you assist me again? Belleami (talk) 17:16, 31 October 2015 (UTC)Belleami[reply]
