Sasural Simar Ka (English: Simar's In-Laws) is an Indian soap opera that airs Monday to Friday on Colors TV. The show premiered on 25 April 2011 and is produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms.

The series first starred Dipika Kakar, Shoaib Ibrahim, Avika Gor, Manish Raisinghan as Simar, Prem, Roli and Siddhant, respectively in main leads. Shoaib left the show in 2013 as makers wasn't giving his character much importance and Dheeraj Dhoopar replaced him in same year. In April 2016, Avika quit the show as she had problems with her shooting schedule. In July 2016, Manish also left the show. In August 2016, Vaishali Takkar and Varun Sharma entered the show as Anjali and Piyush, respectively. In March 2017, both Dipika and Dheeraj quit the show for being a typecast and moving on to better projects. In same month, Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar replaced Dipika in the role of Simar. In June 2017, Krissann Barretto entered the show as Sanjana. At the end of August 2017, Mazher Sayed enter the show in the role of Prem.

It is third longest current running shows and fifth longest running show till now other being Balika Vadhu, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.

Plot

The story revolves around the married lives of two sisters, Simar (Dipika Kakar) and Roli (Avika Gor) who get married to Prem (Shoaib Ibrahim / Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Siddhant (Manish Raisinghan), respectively and how they become the perfect daughter in laws of Bharadwaj Household.

The story then revolves around Simar (Dipika Kakar), Roli (Avika Gor), Prem (Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Siddhant (Manish Raisinghan) and how they protect Bharadwaj House from some supernatural creatures who wants to destroy them.

After a major leap, the story show Simar (Dipika Kakar / Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar), Prem (Dheeraj Dhoopar / Mazher Sayed), their children, Anjali (Vaishali Takkar), Sanjana (Krissann Barretto) and Piyush (Varun Sharma) and how the parents help children in their life.

1 April 21, 2017 Ek Shringaar — Swabhiman Piyush who is possessed by Kaal, goes missing and Roshni tries to find her but fails but succeeds when Naina helps her. Simar motivates her when she tells her that she is going to compete against her sister.
1 April 28, 2017 Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki Piyush who is possessed by Kaal, takes Aditya with him. Harman follows him but he is proved innocent. Aditya is found but taken by Mr. Chadda. Simar gives them money but they refuses as they had arranged it earlier.

Adaptations

The show was broadcast by Geo Kahani but stopped after few episodes.It airs on Colors sister channel Rishtey. This serial is also adapted in Tamil by Polimer TV as Mondru Mudichu and as Sithara in Malayalam by Surya TV. The show dubbed Vietnamese in Vietnam by Echannel VTV Cab 5.It was airing in Pakistan on Urdu 1 till October, 2016.
