The Kingsman film series consists of spy action-comedy films based on The Secret Service comics by Scottish writer Mark Millar and English writer Dave Gibbons. Produced by Matthew Vaughn, David Reid and Adam Bohling and distributed by 20th Century Fox, the films star Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Sophie Cookson. Vaughn who directed and co-wrote the first two films is writing the script for the third film.

The first film, Kingsman: The Secret Service, was released on February 13, 2015 and became a commercial success grossing over $414 million worldwide. The second film, Kingsman: The Golden Circle was released on September 22, 2017.

Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015)

In the film, Harry Hart is a veteran spy of a secret organisation, Kingsman. He recruits Eggsy Unwin, a street unemployed boy into the agency’s competitive training program as a global threat emerges from a billionaire, Richmond Valentine.[1]

In October 2011, Matthew Vaughn was in talks to direct the film adaptation of the 2012's comic book series The Secret Service by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.[2] In March 2013, 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the film.[3] Principal photography began in October 2013 in Surrey, England.[4] Kingsman: The Secret Service was released on February 13, 2015.[5]

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

In the film, when Kingsman's headquarters are destroyed, their agents discover an allied spy organisation in the United States, the Statesman. Two secret organisations join together to defeat a common enemy, in order to save the world.[6]

In April 2015, 20th Century Fox announced that a sequel for Kingsman: The Secret Service was in development.[7] In June 2015, Vaughn begun writing the script.[8] Principal photography commenced in May 2016 in Birmingham, England and ended in September 2016.[9][10] Kingsman: The Golden Circle was released on September 22, 2017.[11]

Untitled third film

Vaughn who co-wrote the first two films stated that he had planned a third Kingsman film, and added that he and co-writer Goldman mapped out the next installment while writing Kingsman: The Golden Circle.[12]
