Maria Katrina Iren Pe Halili (born January 4, 1986) in Quezon City, El Nido Palawan, Philippines known professionally as Katrina Halili is a Filipina actress, commercial model and businesswoman. She made her screen debut via StarStruck, and became more popular until playing the main villainous roles in Darna, Majika, MariMar, Sa Piling ni Nanay, D' Originals and Destiny Rose and becoming the protagonist in One Night Only, Gagambino, Magdusa Ka, Niño, and her roles in Magpakailanman. She was tagged as "Primera Kontrabida of the Philippines" last 2017.
Background
Katrina Halili is an alumna of the StarStruck talent search and the cover girl of leading magazines such as FHM and Maxim Philippines. She was voted as FHM Philippines' sexiest woman for the year 2006 and bagged the title yet again in 2007. She is the first StarStruck contestant to top the FHM Philippines' 100 Sexiest list and the first Filipina celebrity to have won the title twice in a row (Sam Pinto (2011-12) and Marian Rivera (2013-14) also achieve this). She is a four-time FHM Philippines covergirl (2005, 2006, 2008 and 2015).[1] With 123,000 votes, she placed 2nd in 2008 next to Marian Rivera, but Rivera didn't appear on FHM until January 2013.
She gave birth to her daughter named Katrence Lawrence Halili Cadevida on September 18, 2012.[2]
Controversies
In May 2009, a sex tape showing Halili and Hayden Kho, who was then in a relationship with Vicki Belo, was distributed over the internet without her consent. The dispute lasted a long time and resulted in a number of legal actions and with some endorsements being taken away from her. The controversy resulted to Kho's suspension of medical license for some time. She won the case against his mother for libel. Halili, Kho and Belo met in 2015 to patch things up and moved on with their lives.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
