Changing Early Life to A New Beginning
I'm also moving it. It doesn't seem appropriate that it should be in the beginning of the Biography part, since his other three main adventures were before that. Abby724 04:21, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Good idea, especially since a New Beginning, not technically a prequel to begin with -- it's a reboot; ignore everything that the series has established up to that point and start all over from the beginning. --Stratadrake 07:44, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Did u notice that Spyro was in Twinsanity ( he disposed of some baddies who stole his gems)CocoBandicoot17 02:31, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
I am a big fan of Spyro and I think that we should split the spyro series pages between handheld and stationary console versions because they are different
I feel we should split responses both negative and positive are appreciated on my talkpage
-Sometimesseespeople I Agree,Nintendo DS/SP/GBA and Playstation 1,2,and Playstation+X-BOX+Gamecube are not the same thing.

Fair use rationale for Image:SpyroSpeedway.JPG
Image:SpyroSpeedway.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Article source
For those interested, here's a Game Informer article link about Spyro: Making Of An Icon: Spyro The Dragon. Some of the content could be useful for the series and separate game articles as well. (Guyinblack25 talk 23:14, 21 September 2008 (UTC))
Yuck
That current picture of spyro is horrible. can someone please find a better one?--58.173.93.72 (talk) 06:17, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Tips based on other articles
I've done some preliminary work on the Personality and Appearance sections, and plan to do more to them as time and ability allow. I'll work on the Character History section tommorrow; I have some time before class starts, and I can post after I get home. In the meantime, I found some Good and Featured articles that we can base the improvement of this article on.
I noticed that they have certain sections in common. They all have a concept and creation section, decribing the development process of the character. Here, we would have what gave the developers the idea for Spyro, what inspirations they had in Spyro's development, any design changes he went through, ect. There is also an optional Actor Portrayal subsection; this is not a list of actors, but a coverage of how the actors shaped the character's development.
The Characteristics section and Appearances sections already exist in this article; the Appearances is called Character History, and I'll be doing research on how that should look.
There should also be a section on appearances outside the game universe, such as movies, toys, graphic novels, ect. This can be called "Other Appearances." It could most easily be placed as a subsection of a "Cultural Impact" or "Reception" section, which talks about how the character was recieved by the public.
Some Good and Featured articles to use as guides include Kirby (character), Kratos (God of War), Link (The Legend of Zelda), and Master Chief (Halo). Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 07:25, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Update - I've finished part of the Character History; I'll do the rest of it tomorrow. I know for a fact that I summarized way too much; please expand it within reason. It's only supposed to talk about Spyro's role in the games. Since he is the focal point of the games, his role is essentially the plot summary, and, like a plot summary, it should summarize rather than reiterate the story.
- One other thing; If the Sparx section is going to stay, it should probably be merged into a relationships with other characters section, describing his friends and how he relates to them with the same amout of detail as is used in the personality section. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 08:48, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Let's make a "Relation ships with other characters section". If we do that though we should only maybe have Sparx, Cynder, and Ignitus. Most other characters have about the relationship depth with Spyro as a puddle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wise dude321 (talk • contribs) 14:57, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Name
Spyro the Dragon (character) might be a better name for this article, especially since that's how he's referred to in the bolded title. See: Sonic the Hedgehog (character). Tezero (talk) 04:16, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- I suppose. I am not exactly sure why it was here. Blake (Talk·Edits) 15:12, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Ending of oringal games?
Is it true that the oringal games ended with Spyro A Hero's Tail? Will there ever be a 6th? Will there ever be a collect all the gems and stuff spyro game ever again? I Know nobody knows but still. With the new more fighter orinated games out its been a while. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ZEric7x (talk • contribs) 00:51, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Spyro (character) → Spyro — Currently Spyro is a redirect here. If, as this suggests, this page is the primary topic for this title. If this were the case, I suggest moving this page back to its original (I think) character at Spyro (character). Macr86 (talk) 03:55, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Merging sections
The sections Other media and cameo appearances should be merged, as they are basically the same thing. TomUSA 04:39, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
Spyro’s name in the lead
I think that the lead should begin with Spyro the Dragon, or Spyro, is …
rather than Spyro the Dragon is …
, but SNUGGUMS disagrees (see our discussion about it on his or her talk page—if you can handle the layout).
Seeing as the article is titled “Spyro (character),” not “Spyro the Dragon (character),” and the character is referred to as simply “Spyro” throughout the article, I don’t think that it makes sense for only “Spyro the Dragon” to be the bold name in the lead.
Spyro is referred to as both “Spyro the Dragon” and “Spyro,”[1] but his most common name is simply “Spyro.” If anything, the lead should say “Spyro,” not “Spyro the Dragon,” but I don’t think it’s redundant to mention both, as both of them are his names. Interqwark talk contribs 01:26, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- Per everything I stated here, there is no good reason to repeat the "Spyro" name in opening sentence more than once. It's already quite obvious from this page's title that he's more often referred to as that than "Spyro", or it would be titled "Spyro the Dragon (character)" instead of "Spyro (character)". There's also the idea of not using "the Dragon" at all in opening sentence when that's more part of the 1998 game's title than it is part of his name. On a side note, I'm a male user, just so you know. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:22, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
Changing the character image
The current image is from Enter the Dragonfly but a render from the original game would make more sense, possibly complemented by picture from the Reignited Trilogy as it's the last major change to his appearance in the franchise.
