In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the fire snake is a type of creature from the elemental planes.

Publication history

The fire snake first appeared in the original first edition Fiend Folio (1981).[1]

The fire snake appeared in the second edition under the "salamander" entry in the Monstrous Compendium Volume Two (1989),[2] and appeared under the "elemental, fire kin" entry in the Monstrous Manual (1993).[3]

Description

A fire snake is a poisonous red snake from the elemental plane of fire, which may be the larval form of the salamander.

Other publishers

The fire snake appeared in the Tome of Horrors (2002) from Necromancer Games.[4]
