when the hell was it confirmed that sabu will go for the world heavey weight title a one night stand. if it does happen then thanks for the spoilers bitchs

I took care of it, it looks like the same person who keeps trying to add it to the ONS II page. People need to learn not to add things that haven't happened yet. I'm sure people would like it if someone added spoilers for a show like 24 before they air. TJ Spyke 03:36, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but it has aired. I am simply adding to Wikipedia. Man Canadians get no respect.

The general policy is to do it based on the US air date, plus I know that not all of Canada gets it on Thursday. I won't take it out now since they are about to announce it in a few minutes anyways. TJ Spyke 00:14, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I tod u so!!!!!Killswitch Engage

the article says he hit an arabian facebuster on john cena it looked to me like he botched it completly

Actually, his final indy match (due to his WWE contract) was on Friday night, June 9, for FNW in Butler, PA where he defeated Sterling James Keenan.

I have a recommendation. In the section that addresses Sabu's gimmick, when it mentions he very rarely speaks in character, it should also address his most visible and oft-repeated physical signature--pointing to the sky and looking upwards. Possible meanings of this signature should be discussed, such as pointing to Allah, fitting Sabu's character as an Arab, and most likely a Muslim. Edit: Actually, I will add it myself. If anyone has criticism, I am happy to hear it. Kevinbrowning 05:55, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The pointing, according to I think Brunk himelf, fits in it with his gimmick of being a "savage". The lights are "pointing" down at him from the ceilng, so he points back at them. Nowadays however it's just become his signature taunt. Romis 13:53, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Height

Sabu is listed on here at 6'. Looking at him in the ring, he appears much shorter than 6'. Anyone know if 6' is accurate or what his real height is?

Born To Be Wired

quoting from article "It was Sabu and Terry Funk who created one of the most violent matches seen on televised wrestling in a barbed wire match on August 9th, 1997 at ECW's Born To Be Wired event."

This is false, as it was NEVER televised. It was filmed for a commercial ECW video, not for ECW Hardcore TV. Although small clips were shown on tv, it was far too violent to be fully aired. If it was aired ECW most likely would've been dropped by some markets. Other matches from the show were televised on Hardcore TV, but the full main event match was only available on the Born To Be Wired vhs tape.--Hndsmepete 06:26, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IT WAS INDEED TELEVISED

Requested move

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was move. I moved it to Sabu since it was a redirect to Terry Brunk. If people want Sabu to be a disambiguation page and for this article to be at Sabu (wrestler), let me know. -- Kjkolb 05:38, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I oppose the move because the "(wrestler)" part has to be added to the article name since there's other uses for "Sabu". "Terry Brunk" is a unique article name and is better for disambiguation purposes. --Jtalledo (talk) 12:14, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When does this vote finish? How much support do we need to move the article?(Halbared 12:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Requested move 2

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the debate was move. Before the first move, Sabu was a redirect to Terry Brunk so the move to Sabu (wrestler) did not make sense if Sabu was to remain a redirect. As for the links to Sabu, they were probably mostly made when the article was at Terry Brunk, and the disambiguation page with direct them to the correct page. -- Kjkolb 10:54, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sabu really needs to be a disambiguation page. There are many topics that go by "Sabu", including multiple people. Even figuring out how to comment here on the naming issue was confusing, and my journey stemmed from just trying to sort out an unclear link to a person identified only as "Sabu". ENeville 16:32 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Sabu should be a disambig page - most people will think of the Indian actor Sabu Dastagir when the name Sabu is mentioned DuncanHill 15:21, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean "most people"? I doubt anyone outside of people from India(or fans of him) have even heard of that actor, I would say most people would think of this wrestler. This page should stay here. TJ Spyke 23:11, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
When I saw the name Sabu, the Indian actor was my first thought - and I have never been to India. I suspect the wrestler is only known in the US. Sabu should be the disambiguation page. -- Beardo 00:01, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Optimally, Sabu would be the article for Sabu Dastagir, with a separate disambiguation page. It would be acceptable, though suboptimal, for Sabu to be the disambiguation page. But Sabu should certainly not be an article about the wrestler. The wrestler is infinitely more obscure than the actor. - Nunh-huh 23:02, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The formal proposal in "Requested moves" is "*SabuSabu (wrestler) … This article was recently moved after discussion, but there are multiple other people under this one name, some of which are of more prominence than the wrestler. See recent discussion on Sabu:Talk. ENeville 22:45, 8 September 2006 (UTC)"[reply]

If it's going to be moved it should be moved back to Terry Brunk and not Sabu (wrestler). - Bdve 02:00, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
IF it gets moved(which I do not support), then it should be to Sabu (wrestler) since he is far more known for his ring name than his real name. Also, if it gets moved then someone will have to go through and fix the 100+ links that "Sabu" has. I'm sick of people moving articles and then not bothering to change the links as well. Sabu and Mibu

I know that there are a lot of people who do not know this but Sabu did have a wife and her name was Mibu and she was from Japan. So DO NOT remove the information in the Personal Life section. Thank you.

I'm 100% sure that Sabu and Mibu have split up. I know he has another lover but i don't know the persons name.

I heard that it was someone who he works with. Dose that mean it's someone from ECW?

Sabu and RVD arrested for drugs

The following is an article from The Ironton Tribune (irontontribune.com)

Wrestling stars busted in Hanging Rock By Kirsten Stanley/The Ironton Tribune

HANGING ROCK — Two wrestling superstars from Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment may be tough in the ring, but they didn't have enough muscle to escape drug charges after being stopped Sunday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Robert Alex Szatowski, aka WWE and ECW champion Rob Van Dam, and Terry Michael Brunk, aka Sabu, also a former ECW champion, were pulled over on U.S. 52, near Patrick Street in Hanging Rock at about 10:15 p.m. The two were apparently driving from their performances at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena earlier in the evening.

According to the OSHP, Szatowski was initially stopped for speeding. When troopers approached his vehicle, they smelled marijuana and performed a search. Troopers found the wrestler in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, prescription pain pills. Brunk was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances, according to the OSHP. Both were cited and posted bond at the scene.

Szatowski, of Battle Creek, Mich., has had a long, successful career with both the WWE and ECW. In addition to being the current champion of both, he has been intercontinental champion six times, hardcore champion four times and has been a part of several championship tag team duos.

He is scheduled to wrestle tonight on WWE Raw and is also wrestling Tuesday night to retain his WWE and ECW titles during the "Extreme Rules Match" on the Sci-Fi channel.

Both Brunk and Szatowski are scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court. Both wrestlers won their matches last night in Huntington, W.Va. Van Dam defeated the Big Show and Sabu defeated Justin Credible.

When troopers approached his vehicle, they smelled marijuana and performed a search. Troopers found the wrestler in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, prescription pain pills. Brunk was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable.

should this be posted or have to wait?

It's a real and potentially important story for Terry Brunk. The article as a whole can't be posted as it falls under copyright but a reference to the arrests with a link to the Ironton Tribune would seem okay. -EvWill 00:28, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SABU FROM BOMBAY????

yeah, sabu was born December 12, 1964, Detroit, Michigan, USA, and besides his uncle is from Lebanon, lebanon and india are on two different ends of Asia, but thats just his uncle, SABU IS AMERICAN, actually, it might not sound pretty but thats how it is!!! --T00C00L 15:40, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
His gimmick says that's he's from Bombay, India, that's kayfabe. However, as a RIB, they announced him as being from Bombay, Michigan a few times in the old ECW. Romis 13:53, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sabu is from bombay, india and someone is deleting that he is from bombay, india and saying that he is from the US.He is NOT american, that guy needs knowledge.User:Dark-hooded Smoker

In kayfabe he may be billed as being from Bombay, India, but he is actually from Michigan. Genocidal 05:28, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

XPW Title

Recently I added the XPW Title as one of Sabu's accomplishments towards the top of hte page. Someone removed it, not sure who; I think it is notable enough to be listed so please don't remove it in the future. Thanks.JB196 14:37, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His Peritage.

Somebody has added his peritage is Indian and Persian. Is it true? I don't know whether it's true or not. But in my opinion, His edit was correct. *~Daniel~* 02:19, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

External Links

I've added the only Sabu fansite that I've found that's active on the Internet.

thats NOT the only fansite, i know a site complete with videos from his most hardcore and extreme spots and matches, and i also know a sit that show some of his personal out-of-ring photos!!! --T00C00L 16:00, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For all you marks out there

The ones of you who are adamantly saying that he is from Bombay don't realize that wrestling is fake. Yes, WWE says that he is from Bombay. "Sabu" is from Bombay, but Terry Brunk is not. As for those of you who are claiming that he can't be from India because he's Arab, i have news for you. There are more Arabs in India than there are total people in the United States, even as far as Bombay. Oh.. and all you people who think because WWE says he's from india, think he has to... learn how to spell. I cud barely understand wat u wur saing

ok, now that thats settled that He is NOT from India, which he is NOT from, actually, but one thing is that there are NO arabians in india, ok, cuz i speak hindi (main idian language) even though im NOT indian myself and have no relation or connection to india, i know that there are NO arabians in india, i have all the knowledge on indians and my dad (whose also NOT indian) has been there hundreds of times, ok, ik know that there are NO arabias in india, there are barely much arabians in Pakistan either (i am NOT Pakistani ether). T00C00L 15:54, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TO REMOVE YOUR CONFUSION

Sabu is a Detroit Guy who thinks that wearing an Arab headgear Makes him an Indian.Pal,Sabu is AMERICAN and he's Just takin advantage of your Ignorance(apologies!!!) Best regards to all the Page guys-----Ajay the Wrestling Fan

PLEASE DONT EVER CALL SABU AN INDIAN AGAIN.QUIT INsULTING MY NATION!!!!

"Sabu" is pretty much a mish-mash of general middle-eastern and asian stereotypes, an Indian wrestler who uses Arabian moves while praying like a muslim on entering the ring (Although he seems to have eased up on this recently) and couldn't speak English until earlier this year despite having lived in the US for at leat a decade. I don't think the gimmick is meant to be accurate to any nation or race. So let's all lighten up. Daigo 16:21, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His gimmick says that's he's from Bombay, India, that's kayfabe. However, as a rib, they announced him as being from Bombay, Michigan a few times in the old ECW. Through most of his career, his gimmick of being a "savage" prevented him from speaking English, but he does that now, appearently for a multi-million dollar contract you learn English pretty quickly :-P Romis 13:53, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fools, I'm Indian, myself, and Sabu is in fact part Indian. Like me, he was born here, and that is how he can speak English. Even though I am born here I will say I'm Indian from the pride for my country. You guys have to chill out. 20 November 2006

Yeah, you'd think that someone with a name like "Ajay the wrestling fan" wouldn't be too stupid to distinguish between a gimmick and someone who is legitimately trying to pass himself off as Indian. 65.189.210.173 08:27, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sabu and mibu

I know that not a lot of people will know this but sabu was once married to a woman named mibu. so do not remove this from the site. thank you.

They have not split up. Stop adding that without a reputable source that says its true.JB196 04:05, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
yes, i added that info like TWO YEARS AGO but it was deleted, besides i got Sabu's wedding photos!!! --Too Cool 03:52, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seems as if this article is totally messed up

Fine I admit it I am a dumb wikipedian but can someone please out his career by years! It helps me cause i know when he was in TNA, ECW, or WWE! So please. Thanks,

                               Erik
