Red Rock Entertainment Ltd[1] is a film investment and production company based at Elstree Film Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire (UK).[2] It is the studio of choice for many successful British films and many well-known TV shows. The company acts as Executive Producers sourcing investment and finance for film and TV projects. Gary Collins is the CEO of Red Rock Entertainment.[3] Red Rock Entertainment mainly works on projects that are at an advanced phase and are looking for the final financing. They solely focus on film and TV projects that possess a commercial appeal, an identifiable audience, moderately low and manageable costs and a sound financial structure.[4]

Brighton A typical day in Brighton during the mid 1980s; two working class couples Derek & Dinah, Dave & Doreen are on a day trip to the beach. But Brighton is changing, & the friends can't keep up. The result is a vengeful act of violence that exposes the gaps & similarities between class, gender & sexual orientations. Brighton Beach compassionately explores the mutual incomprehension inherent in the divide between the middle and working classes. "We might call them yobs & laugh at their Neanderthal struggles with existence," Berkoff says, "but within there is an awful sadness as they try to claw happiness out of their day. SNAPSHOT In Mexico, investigative television journalist Julia Wright and her cameraman Bill, pull up to a checkpoint in the dead of night. Shots are fired. Bill is killed at point blank range. Julia is snatched out of the vehicle, all while her local intelligence contact and longtime mentor Alden Fowler listen on the other end of the active phone. Cast: Adrian Paul, Sasha Jackson, Matthias Harris, Cian Barry, Daniel Pirrie, Mark Cooper-Jones, Iskandar Sharazuddin, Emily Felicia Moore, Triana.[9]
Genesis,The Fall of Eden In November 2016, Red Rock Entertainment announced they will be executive producers of Genesis,The Fall of Eden,[10] which is a SCI Fi ovmie written and directed by Bart Ruspoli, Freddie Hutton-Mills starring John Hannah, Warren Brown, Chike Okonkwo, and Olivia Grant.[11]
Madness in the Method In August 2016 Red Rock Entertainment announced they will be executive producers of Madness in the Method, (formerly Mewes) written by Dominic Burns, Chris Anastasi starring Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith, Danny Trejo, Matt Willis, Terri Hatcher, Gina Carino Vinnie Jones, Judd Nelson, Dean Cain, Casper Van Dien, Niko Nicotera. Jason Mewes made his directorial debut with Madness in the Method.[12]
The Tell-Tale Heart In April 2016 Red Rock Entertainment announced that they would co-produce The Tell-Tale Heart and Shakespeare's Heroes & Villains. Shakespeare's Heroes & Villains is an adaptation of Steven Berkoff's stage production Shakespeare's Villains.[13] The one-man play, which had its first run at Theatre Royal London in 1998, explored and analysed some of the Bard's most villainous characters, including Macbeth, Iago, Richard III and Coriolanus and Tell Tale Heart, both were written by Steven Berkoff.[14]
Louisa: An Amazing Adventure This story is based on real events and the true courage, determination and extraordinary spirit of ordinary people. January 1899 saw the worst storm at sea in living memory and the most astonishing lifeboat rescue attempt of the century. The coxswain of the Louisa lifeboat and his daughter must struggle with nature, personal loyalty and their duty to save the lives of strangers.[15]
London Heist London Heist is about a man called Jack Cregan, career criminal, family man and viscious armed robber, who is on a mission for revenge. When Jack´s father Alfie is brutally murdered and the money from the Heathrow airport heist stolen, Jack, his cousin Sammy and the other gang members Eddie and Frank, realise there is more to the stolen money and Alfie´s murder than meets the eye – and once Jack begins to dig, he knows that his life will never be the same again.[16]
Peripheral Bobbi Johnson is a young literary sensation facing her difficult second novel. Already dealing with a crazed stalker and her junkie ex-boyfriend, Bobbi is convinced by her publisher to use new smart editing software and finds herself going head-to-head with an artificial intelligence determined to write her book for her.[17]
Dusty and Me A feel-good, heart-warming film set in Yorkshire in 1977 about an adolescent boy's big summer after leaving school. It's about a boy and a dog, class and ambition, first love, and above all, family.[18]
The Last Scout The Last Scout is about a devastating nuclear war between America and China renders planet Earth uninhabitable. Those with access to commercial and private spacecraft escape the planet, and the two sides each decide to search for a new home. In 2065, the crew of the Pegasus is searching for a new home for humanity. As they approach their potential new world, they discovery of another ship could be the key to their salvation, or doom them and the rest of humanity to extinction.[19]
The Convent During the 17th Century a young woman is saved from execution and led to a priory to repent her sins but discovers a greater evil lies within.[20]
3 Lives A woman on the run from ruthless kidnappers discovers her rescuer is the man jailed for attacking her 15 years earlier.[21]
Seven 60 Years ago a group of Devil worshipers died in a mysterious fire which burnt their mansion down to the ground. Now years later a college stands on the site where the mansion once stood.[22]
Zombie Spring Breakers (Ibiza Undead) A group of young people head to Ibiza for the holiday of a lifetime - all the sun, sea, and sex, they can handle. If only there wasn't a zombie outbreak getting in the way.[23]
The Comedian's Guide to Survival Red Rock Entertainment are the executive producers of The Comedian's Guide to Survival,[24] which was filmed in Canada in July 2015.[25] The Comedian's Guide to Survival features The Inbetweeners's[26] James Buckley,[27] along with comedians Paul Kaye,[28] Jimmy Carr and Omid Djalili.[29][30] It is directed and based on the life of comedian James Mullingner.
That Good Night In March 2016 Red Rock Entertainment announced that they would act as the executive producers on the production of That Good Night[31] which is based on the That Good Night play written by N.J.Crisp (the title is derived from Do not go gentle into that good night by Dylan Thomas). The film stars Sir John Hurt.[32][33] which started filming in March 2016 across locations on the Algarve coastline of Portugal.[34] Charles Dance co-stars as "The Visitor" in the film. The cast also includes Sofia Helin ("The Bridge"), Max Brown ("Agent Carter") and Erin Richards.[35] The story line of the film follows Ralph (Hurt), a famed screenwriter coming to terms with his impending death. As he does so, he resolves to attempt two final missions in life: to be reconciled to his long-lost son (Brown), and to ensure he doesn't become a burden on his wife Anna (Helin) with his slow decline by enlisting a mysterious "Visitor" to help him pass painlessly into "That Good Night".
The Stolen Red Rock Entertainment are the executive producers of The Stolen which was filmed in New Zealand[36] in February 2016. Starring Jack Davenport, Alice Eve, Graham McTavish, Stan Walker and Richard O'Brien Directed by Niall Johnson, written by Niall Johnson[37] and Emily Corcoran.
Breakdown Red Rock Entertainment are the executive producers of Breakdown[38] working alongside production company Impact Entertainment.[39] Breakdown stars Craig Fairbrass,[40] James Cosmo, Olivia Grant, Mem Ferda, Tamer Hassan and Bruce Payne. Breakdown is directed by Jonnie Malachi, produced by Luke Fairbrass, executive producers include Gary Collins, Craig Fairbrass and Luke Fairbrass.[41] The action-thriller had its premier screening at the Odeon, Convent Garden, London in January 2016.[42]
Ibiza Undead Red Rock Entertainment are executive producers of Ibiza Undead is a 2016 horror film written and directed by Andy Edwards. Premiered at London's FrightFest Film Festival in August 2016, the film stars Cara Theobold, Matt King and Alex Zane. Shot on location in Ibiza and London, it has been described as "The Inbetweeners meets Shaun of the Dead".[43]
In Extremis Red Rock Entertainment are the executive producers the psychological thriller, In Extremis. Written and directed by Steven Stone. In Extremis stars, David O'Hara, Isabelle Allen, Lisa Gormley, Neil Pearson, Toyah Wilcox, Nick Cornwall, Bill Fellows and Stuart Sessions. In Extremis began filming in Huddersfield in March 2015. The special screening of the movie for investors was held in London, in March 2016.[44]
Stanley A Man of Variety Red Rock Entertainment are the executive producers of the film Stanley A Man of Variety[45] (a.k.a. The Special One) directed by Stephen Cookson[46] and stars Timothy Spall, both also worked together in a 2011 British Christmas film My Angel. Timothy Spall played the lead in the film, as well as all other roles in the production.[47]
Await Further Instructions Red Rock Entertainment are the executive producers of horror film, Await Further Instructions, directed by Johnny Kevorkian[48] and written by Gavin Williams, starring David Bradley, Abigail Cruttenden, Sam Gittins, Holly Weston, Grant Masters, Neerja Naik and Kris Saddler.[49][50]
The London Firm Red Rock Entertainment, financed The London Firm (a.k.a. AB Negative) a crime thriller, directed by Neil Horner and written by Allen Beaver and Neil Horner, Starring Vincent Regan, Kumud Pant, Jon Campling, Stephen Marcus, Robert Cavanah and Seb Castang. The film was released on 26 October 2015.[51]
Heretiks Red Rock Entertainment are the executive producers of Heretiks a horror film directed by Paul Hyett written by Gregory Blair Starring Claire Higgins, Ania Marson, Rosie Day, Hannah Arterton, Katie Sheridan, Emily Tucker, Michael Ironside.[52]
Jas Red Rock Entertainment are the Distributors of Jas, a short film directed by Alice Trueman. Jas is the story of a young, English-Iranian girl, and her unlikely meeting with a racist war veteran. It is a story of the desire to escape, and the impossibility of escaping oneself. Starring Joseph Adelakun Conor Boru and Altay Lawrence.[53][54]
Yank Red Rock Entertainment are the Distributors of Yank, a comedy written and directed by Sean Lackey. Yank is about and Irish American called Tom Murphy, who hasn't a clue about Ireland or love. He eventually learns about the country of his heritage and that he should listen to his own heart concerning love. Starring Fred Willard, Colm Meaney and Kevin P. Farley.

Cottage Country Red Rock Entertainment are the Distributors of Cottage Country, a Canadian comedy horror film written by Jeremy Boxen and directed by Peter Wellington. The film is about a man accidentally kills his brother with an ax, his fiancée is determined not to let even murder stand in the way of their happiness. Starring Malin Akerman, Tyler Labine, Dan Petronijevic and Lucy Punch[56]
Night Train to Lisbon Red Rock Entertainment are the Distributors of Night Train to Lisbon an internationally co-produced English-language drama film written by Pascal Mercier and Greg Latter and directed by Bille August. Based on the 2004 Night Train to Lisbon by Pascal Mercier. The film is about a Swiss Professor, abandons his lectures and buttoned-down life to embark on a thrilling adventure that will take him on a journey to the very heart of himself. Starring Jeremy Irons, Mélanie Laurent and Jack Huston[57]

Documentaries

HollyWood Bulldogs Bulldogs, tells the rough-and-tumble story of the small community of British stunt performers who went on to dominate Hollywood in the 1970s and 80s. Growing out of the ragtag community of bouncers, gangsters and de-mobbed soldiers who were prepared to take a punch or chuck themselves down a flight of stairs for a few quid, the next generation went on to turn stunt work into a legitimate profession.[61]
THE CONTRACTORS This documentary will focus on the life and times of private security contractors in hot spots and war zones around the world. These men and women do extraordinary jobs in extreme environments.[62]

Walking with Elephants Walking with Elephants is about the last great herds of elephants in Africa. With a population of barely 350,000 Savanah elephants left, the biggest of the planet's land animals face extinction within our lifetime. Half of these elephants during the dry season are densely populated in northern Botswana as they are protected by the government there. However, across the border into Namibia, Angola, Zambia and Zimbabwe – where many of the elephants return in the wet season, their future is fraught. In Kenya and Tanzania and South Africa, nearly all of the surviving elephants are enclosed in game reserves and no longer roam the wilderness that once saw them travel up to one hundred miles a day.

Executive Producer of Red Rock Entertainment, Gary Collins was selected to be a speaker at the Screen Film Summit 2016 which took place at London's Picturehouse in central London on 24 November, other keynote speakers at the event included Andy Harries, Tim O'Shea, Tristan Goligher, Faye Ward, Eve Gabereau, Chris Green and David Hancock.[66] The Screen Film Summit provided attendees with the opportunity to learn about the intricacies of accessing investment and private funding for film projects from experts in the film industry.[67]

Red Rock Entertainment was sponsor of the 2016 The Screen awards, which recognises excellence in UK film distribution, exhibition, marketing, publicity and brand partnerships. Celebrating much more than box office results, the Screen Awards acknowledge the wide range of factors that contribute to the success of the British film industry.[68]

Red Rock Entertainment has been a sponsor for the Marbella International Film Festival since 2016.[69] The festival is held in Marbella on the Costa del Sol in Spain.

Gary Collins, the CEO of Red Rock Entertainment was a guest speaker at the Screen Daily Finance Forum in the year 2019. He talked about the challenges and opportunities in film and TV finance to producers in the UK[70]. In 2018, Gary Collins was invited to be a Judge at the JETS film competition. [71]

Red Rock Entertainment are sponsors of Boreham Wood F.C. and the weekly match reports. Borehamwood F.C is in Hertfordshire, England, they are currently members of the National League and play at Meadow Park. Established in 1948, they are known as "the wood" and are local rivals of St. Albans City.[72]

Red Rock Entertainment is a supporter and sponsor of JETS (Junior Entertainment Talent Slate) and their CEO, Gary Collins, has even been invited at their conventions as a Judge.[73]

Red Rock also organises Film Investment Seminars at Elstree Studios.[74] The seminar's are designed to explain how film investment works to potential investors understand.

Red Rock Entertainment was the lead sponsor of the Ninth edition of The Women's International Film & Television Showcase Foundation International Visionary held at the Millennium Hotel in Mayfair in July 2016 and Honorees for the 2016 Women's International Film & TV Showcase Awards.[75]

Philanthropy

Red Rock Entertainment sponsors Signature Pictures[82] which is a social enterprise production company. In partnership with Jobcentre Plus and The Princes Trust, it provides training and work experience opportunities to unemployed young people in every department of its corporate & creative film productions. Red Rock Entertainment is also a corporate partner of Rays of Sunshine, which is a non-profit organisation set up in 2003.[83][84]

Red Rock Entertainment are proud sponsors of TheWIFTS, Women In Film International film and Television Showcase.[85] The women's international film and television showcase and TheWIFTS Foundation International visionary awards has 'Women as Individuals' for its mission cornerstone. The concept derives from our awareness that individual women are seldom celebrated for their body of work.

Red Rock Entertainment, actively works as partners with Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity,[86] the organisation's stated aim is to brighten the lives of children with serious or life-limiting illnesses. Red Rock Entertainment not only sponsors wishes but helps enable the children's wishes.[87] Red Rock Entertainment has organised some exclusive behind the scenes experiences within the film industry. They have organised on set visits to Elstree Studios, to watch and meet the cast of BBC Strictly Come Dancing[88][89] and set visits to Channel 4's Big Brother[90] They also organise meet and greets with actors and pop singers such as, Olly Murs,[91][92] James Buckley from The Inbetweeners[93]

In 2016, Red Rock Entertainment hosted a film competition and granted Jason Stewart's wish to be in London to be a part of a very special Short Film Competition. The film competition was hosted by Red Rock Entertainment and Soho private members club, The Century Club. The teen got spent time and chatted with film director Chelsea Grant, who had recently made her own short film, Titiro. As a result of a collaboration between Templeheart Films and Red Rock Entertainment, Jason then got exclusive access to the UK's largest International genre film festival that showcased the best horror, Sci-Fi and thriller films in Glasgow. At the film festival, Stewart met horror film director Paul Hyett (who directed The Seasoning House). The director spent some time with Stewart before premiering the trailer for his latest film Heretiks[94][95] For their latest projects, Red Rock also holds private screenings, with spoken remarks by producers, writers and actors.[96]

In February 2016 Red Rock held a short film competition[97] at The Century Club.[98] The panel consisted of Phillip Ilson,[99] Director of the London Short Film festival[100] and shorts programmer for the BFI London Film Festival, Roger Morris,[101] managing director of Elstree Studios, Stephen Cookson, Award-winning writer and director, Linda Robson, Actress best known for Birds of a Feather and Loose Women and Gary Collins, managing director of Red Rock Entertainment. They announced Alice Trueman as the winner and hoped to hold the Red Rock Film Competition annually, to help aspiring film makers further their careers.[102]
