Do you want to add the correct copyright on the Malkin's picture from my flick account? I have no idea how to do it.... kheldar2002 (talk) 20:46, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So basically I would have to change the copyright on my flickr pics? That's fine, in any case, they're not super high resolution... I'll do for the Malkin's one for now, if you need more, let me know ! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kheldar2002 (talkcontribs) 18:02, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your comments regarding James Naismith

First off, let me be clear that I've no stake in the James Naismith matter other than helping to maintain the stability of a frequently vandalized article. If consensus supports the changes you have proposed, then that is great. It is important, however, to clarify that you have incorrectly (and, I feel, unfairly) described it as an "edit war with an admin". Keep in mind that your initial change was made without explanation or comment; it was reverted because it was unexplained, on an article with a relatively high rate of vandalism, and because you appeared to be the first person in the history of the article to make such a change. (I could not find any indication of it ever having been a subject for discussion, let alone a controversy.) You only left a note on the article's talk page after our back-and-forth, and there was no mention that the discussion had moved to the NBA page (which would have been helpful). As for the "admin" part, at no time did that become a factor in the issue. Furthermore, please keep in mind that any admin who tried to "shoot down" an editor by using the admin bit to his or her advantage in a content dispute would find themselves being shot down (in a far more serious manner) shortly thereafter. Thanks for your understanding with regards to this matter. --Ckatzchatspy 20:57, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sokil Kyiv and GA

Was just looking over GA nominations, and noticed that Sokil Kyiv was not listed as a nominee, even though the talk page of the article says it is. Which probably means that you may have not added it to the list. Might want to add it there so someone can review it. Kaiser matias (talk) 00:02, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It had to have been added to Wikipedia:Good article nominations#Sports and recreation. I may be wrong, but I couldn't find it on that list. Kaiser matias (talk) 00:43, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rusyn flag

Hi. You raise some very important questions about the validity of the Rusyn flag in Rusyns. I removed the tag placed on 10 June by IP based on the description of Rusyn flag.svg in Commons. If this is not sufficient and you believe that the flag is bogus, I suggest removing it immediately and looking for references and justifications later. In any way, you are more qualified to look into this issue than I. Best, --Zlerman (talk) 00:26, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why you are using these flags for cities? For example the team Patriot Vinnytsia in Vinnytsia not Vinnytsia Oblast, so these flags do not add credabilty to your article, do they? Cheers --Ilyaroz (talk) 03:01, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Crosby article and Russian stuff

I have replaced your latest addition to the Sidney Crosby article. Although I have left in the instance of the missed handshake, your edit made it seem that he purposely stood back and "neglected" to shake hands with Lidstrom... this is not truthful and I have yet to see an article of true note that says he did it on purpose. In fact, it seems that about half of the Pens were late shaking hands -- as the CBC announcer said: the Pens were late to shaking hands due to the celebration (not just Crosby). I think you crossed the WP:NPOV line a little bit there - but it happens... I have replaced it with something a little more reasonable that tells both sides of the story. I'll be honest though... it sounds like Draper just has some sour grapes... and I am not sure if the event is all that notable.

On a side note, I've observed your interest in the Russian side of hockey... was wondering if you wanted to contribute to http://icehockey.wikia.com ... Same idea as wikipedia, but much broader in the realm of hockey. DMighton (talk) 12:13, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I felt "neglected" was very neutral, as opposed to "avoided", for example. If I "neglected" to make my bed today, it's not malicious, just something that I never got around to. --Lvivske (talk) 17:11, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Sadly it didn't come across like that... by only supporting it with a one-perspective negative quote, you (probably accidentally) turned the connotation of "neglected" from being distracted to wanton disregard. Either way though.... it is 100x better now... so the issue is solved. Although, I still wonder if in 6 months if anyone will care to remember this alleged situation.
Still, check out... http://icehockey.wikia.com ...I think you could be very helpful there. DMighton (talk) 20:02, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't like that... Ice Hockey Wiki is not a rival... in fact we work with Wikipedia. If an article is deemed not notable on Wikipedia... because of our broader scope... it gets "Transwiki"'d to IHW. I personally do 80% of my work on here and about 20% on IHW. Our Russian hockey portal could use some work... think about it and if you get a chance, give it a shot. DMighton (talk) 20:36, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature

Please remove the flag image from your signature. It is not allowed there, sorry. – (iMatthew • talk) at 22:34, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was under the impression that you could compare Red Army's league titles to Stanley Cups, since in the Soviet/Russian league the regular season champ is reckoned as league champ. What am I missing here? Blueboy96 17:54, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For pretty obvious reasons

You might want to avoid reverting with edit summaries like this [1]. Just a word of advice. PasswordUsername (talk) 23:00, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Lvivske, please don't use words like "Polack" on WP.[2] Using ethnic slurs on WP is unacceptable. If you continue to use ethnic slurs, you will be blocked. This is a warning. Have a nice day! AdjustShift (talk) 17:37, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Diacritics

Bless you, Lvivske; bless you. GoodDay (talk) 22:41, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can't even begin to measure my contempt, for those dios. GoodDay (talk) 22:46, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, it's the reason I resigned as a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey. -- GoodDay (talk) 22:50, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When it concerns removal of dios? WP:BOLD is frowned upon (IMHO). GoodDay (talk) 22:55, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Moving the article to Sandis Ozolinsh, or changing the spelling within the article? It'll likely get reverted (within 24hrs). GoodDay (talk) 23:00, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I chose not to continue arguing 'against' diacritics/accents. The pro-dios side, usually end up getting what they want. WP:IAR is applied, when 'adding' dios; but it's not allowed when 'removing' dios. Case-in-point: the NHL player's birthplaces, at the NHL roster templates. They're winning, because they are bullies & suffer from Wikipedia:OWN. -- GoodDay (talk) 17:44, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, at one time most or all of these hockey articles had no diacritics. But gradually, they were changed to include them, without seeking concensus first (in otherwords a hostile takeover). If ya don't believe me? ask Masterhatch & RGTraynor. -- GoodDay (talk) 18:11, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It stinks, don't it? GoodDay (talk) 22:28, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

UPA

Stop removing photos and facts. UPA genocide on Polish nation is a historical fact.--Paweł5586 (talk) 20:51, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Propaganda is that UPA fighting against Germans and NKWD. Main job which UPA did were killing innocent woman, children, and oldmans. Fights with Germans and NKVD was not so many. And UPA killed also Ukrainians and mixed marriage.--Paweł5586 (talk) 08:38, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How many NKVD soldiers and Germans soldiers were killed by UPA? 10-20 thousands? UPA mourdered about 150 thousands Polish civilians. It was more cruel than Russian and German. OUN-UPA propaganda made heroes from criminals. For your information Polish revange killed about 10 th Ukrainians. Read Ihor Iljuszyn book.--Paweł5586 (talk) 07:02, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:CSKA new.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CSKA new.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 00:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Storm brewing

Soviet born NHLers

Hiya Lvivske. Grsz11 does have a point. There was no consensus to change from USSR to others. GoodDay (talk) 22:36, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Change them to Soviet Union, as that's the name of the article itself. GoodDay (talk) 22:41, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't be annoyed with me. I'm merely pointing out that I didn't see a consensus for your changes. I haven't been reverting your changes (except for the Thrashers roster, on examplar reasons). GoodDay (talk) 23:04, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don't make up rules that don't exist

You said Alexei Ponikarovsky doesn't get a Canadian flag on his page because he never played for team Canada, which is complete BS and I don't know where you got that, but that doesn't how it works. First, Steve Yzerman gets an American flag because HE HOLDS is a citizen of the USA therefore his nationality is both Canadian and American. So don't start an edit war with me because if you change Alexei nationality again I'm not going to change it back I'm just going to alert an Administrator.--Fire 55 (talk) 03:31, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You will be reported. So here's the plan you either link me a page that says nationality is if the play on a national team. Hey smarty YOU CAN ONLY REPRESENT ONE NATIONAL TEAM IN YOUR LIFETIME THAT'S IIHF RULES then why does the template have two nationality slots. So here's the deal if you revert the next Alexei edit you better go on Steve Yzerman's, and remove the US flag and also Brett Hull's Canadian flag or I'm reporting you. --Fire 55 (talk) 07:19, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have reported you

Just to let you know.--Fire 55 (talk) 07:37, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What an honor.--Львівське (talk) 07:44, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flags in infoboxes

Please see Template_talk:Infobox_Ice_Hockey_Player#Remove_flagicons.3F regarding flags in the infobox.
