Turkish help needed

Hello Maurice, I'm contacting you because we need some Turkish translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on tr.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Turkish Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:49, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

UK Export/Import Data - Economy of the United Kingdom

Hi,

You recently updated the export and import statistical information in the infobox on the Economy of the United Kingdom page. However, you referenced a Statistical UK Trade bulletin PDF from the Office for National Statistics which does not work. Furthermore, you allege the data is the trade data for June 2013 in the citation link, that data has yet to be released yet by the ONS. Could you please amend and clarify that data and its citation. Your contribution is appreciated.

AdamFouracre (talk) 20:49, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adam, I did these updates using data from the CIA World Factbook. I don't know UK trade office statistics or official agency figures. Anyway, the main source of infoboxes is CIA World Factbook and it's is specified. Besides, this is not a data for the year, the results of 2012. Please look at export and import partners of United Kingdom Export: [1] and Import:[2] Maurice 19:57, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Template infobox

Yes Maurice, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey provide the opposition with lethal armaments. No-one else does. Sopher99 (talk) 21:48, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, Russia and China provide weapons to the Assad regime! It's an undeniable fact! Even in this regard, a separate article is available. I stated sources on this issue but likewise, there is no reference about Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar on the template! Maurice07 (talk) 22:04, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • (in English): You are wrong User:Herr Bundespanzer! I don't keep Fenerbahce football team. I'm fan of Galatasaray. However, it has nothing to do with keeping your team. Being objective and emphasize of national team, more appropriate for me. I think we will be able to negotiate on this issue. Article of Turkey is not a personal user page and insist about to impose does not bring much benefit ,I have personally experienced it. Maurice07 (talk) 12:48, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Infer in this way, extremely ridiculous :) Be sure, If I were Fenerbahce fan, I would cahange with Süşrü Saraçoğlu Stadium?? If you wonder number of "07", I can explain. It's just my lucky number. Maurice07 (talk) 16:43, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for two weeks for edit warring

Because of your past blocks for edit warring, and your edit warring actions at Turkey, I have blocked you for two weeks. Please seek alternative methods to dispute resolution in the future rather than simply engaging in edit wars. As always, this block can be appealed through the use of {{unblock}}. only (talk) 16:46, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

  • I've been blocked by Only in 24 December 2013 because of edit warring I'm being blocked for two week and this issue connects to the my past blocks !! If there is a violation on page of Turkey, I accept that. If the past blocks taken as the reference, it's unacceptable. Maurice07 (talk) 17:10, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

It's perfectly acceptable. The duration of a block is commonly set based on the pattern of behavior. I would suggest you focus your unblock request on how you will prevent future edit warring, as the next block will likely be for a longer duration. Kuru (talk) 17:33, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Template:Largest cities in Turkey edit war report

I declined the report as there is no evidence of 3RR. There needs to be several reverts in a short space of time. Also User:The Banner is correct about the links you are using for the references. I tried them with several different browsers, IE, FF, Chrome and Opera, on three different computers and two different operating systems and they do not work. Warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Take it to talk. — kwami (talk) 01:08, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if I snapped at you. Too much edit-warring idiocy going on at the moment. See what you think of the article now. — kwami (talk) 03:38, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Olympic non-incident.

The talk discussion was archived. It's called "Hopeless hijack". Weren't a lot of voices, and there might be something you can add that was overlooked. But basically, it only made news because Sochi was a hot topic at the time, and this guy wanted to ride coattails. It's like when a drunk threatens to call the President to get him out of the tank. Not really relevant to the President.

If the plane actually had landed in Sochi, and the guy did anything to affect the Games, it'd be notable. But since there was no effect or connection (aside from the angle of some news stories), it's just tangentially related trivia. At least with the other threats, there was a noted increased security effect. InedibleHulk (talk) 18:28, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

About Mahidevran's image

I don't edit in tr-WP. But I want to point out that when the image in question was first posted in en WP, I had called "BBC your paintings". My message and their response (on Jan 10) are as follows:

"Hi, Happy new year. I wonder if the subject of the painting "portrait of a sultana 101096" is ambiguous or not. If not what was her name ? Thanks. Nedim Ardoğa"
"Thanks very much for your email. I'm afraid we don't have any more information on this painting, other than what is listed on the site."
Obviously the image is totally imaginative and there is no indication of whom the painter might have imagined. Thus I think that the imagine can't be used as an encyclopedic material. Cheers. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 17:57, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
