Notes

All-Filipino Cup: Beat Sta.Lucia, 91-82 on opening day on February 23, and won their first four games before losing to FedEx, 86-90 on March 15 in Bago City. The Aces skid to a three-game losing streak before winning against Coca Cola and exacting revenge over the Express on April 4.

Reinforced Conference: The Aces lost their first three games with Chris Carrawell as their import. The returning Isaac Fontaine, who last played with Sta.Lucia three years ago, replaces Carrawell. The Aces scored their first victory against Purefoods, 97-91 on September 17, on Fontaine's debut with Alaska.

Occurrences

During the Invitational Cup, guard Jon Ordonio was placed on the reserve list upon orders by the management. Ordonio was one of the five foreign-breed players whom the senate recommended for deportation upon investigation on the so-called Fil-Shams.

Championship

The Alaska Aces won the Invitational Championship for their 11th PBA title, defeating the Coca Cola Tigers, two games to one, in their best-of-three finals. The Aces were the sixth entry among PBA teams qualified to play in the second conference Invitationals that featured guest foreign teams. They were on a nine-game winning streak going into Game One of the title series.
