In 1999 the Ministry of Education agreed to the foundation of Zhejiang Wanli College.
In 2002 the college was upgraded to Zhejiang Wanli University and started to grant bachelor's degrees.
The school ranking by the Wushu Lian presided over the "2014 China University Evaluation", the 2011 Chinese University Ranking Award comprehensive strength ranked 394 (3.04 points)
