The Platinum Jubilee Pageant will be held on Sunday, 5 June 2022 near Buckingham Palace, organised as part of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. It will feature over 5,000 people from across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth and will combine street arts, theatre, music, circus, carnival and costume and celebrate the service of the Queen's reign, as well as honouring the collective service of people and communities across the United Kingdom.[1][2][3]
Date and location
The pageant will be a major event of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II taking place in 2022. It will take place on 5 June 2022 against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace and the surrounding streets.[1] The money for the event, which is expected to cost £15 million, has been raised from corporate sponsors and individuals.[4] It will be organised by more than 10,000 people and will cover a 3km route, similar in length to the path taken by the Queen during her coronation.[4] Sir Cliff Richard, Dame Shirley Bassey and Gary Linekar are among the celebrities taking part in the festivities.[4] The pageant will also feature a big Lady Godiva puppet.[5]

The pageant will feature four acts.[4]
Act 1: For Queen and Country
The first act, For Queen and Country, will be composed of a military parade with 1,750 people and 200 horses.[4]
Act 2: The Time of Our Lives
The second out, The Time of Our Lives, will show case changes in culture, music and fashion throughout the past seven decades.[4]
Act 3: Let's Celebrate
The third act, Let's Celebrate, will display the Queen's life in 12 chapters.[4] A 20ft puppet of the Queen as a youthful princess accompanied by a number of puppet corgis will be featured.[4] Other highlights will include the Queen's wedding and coronation.[4]
Act 4: Happy and Glorious
The fourth act, Happy and Glorious, will feature a performance by Ed Sheeran and the singing of "God Save the Queen".[4] Crowds are expected to gather at the Victoria Memorial towards the end of the ceremony.[4]
