Manza Bay is a bay in Tanzania. It is located on the coast, some 10 miles (16 km) north of the town of Tanga.[1]
History
During World War I, a German vessel called the Kronborg (the captured British vessel Rubens), on a mission to resupply the besieged SMS Königsberg, was sunk by the British ship HMS Hyacinth.
During World War II, the Royal Navy laid indicator loops in front of the Manza Bay to defend the coast against German and Japanese submarines.
