This article is about the Stadler tri-mode locomotives. For the planned electric locomotives intended as part of the InterCity 250 system, see British Rail Class 93 (InterCity 250).
Ten Class 93s have been ordered by Rail Operations Group (ROG), with the first scheduled for delivery in August 2020.[1] However in November 2019 the order was reported to have not been placed.[2]
Specification
The locomotives will be capable of running on diesel engines, overhead wires and battery power. They will have a top speed of 110 mph (180 km/h)[3] and have around 1,800 hp (1,300 kW) of usable power when running on diesel.[1]
