WHPE-FM is a radio station at 95.5 FM broadcasting religious programming. The station is licensed to High Point, North Carolina and serves the North Carolina Triad region.

History

WHPE 1070 AM and 95.5 FM was originally licensed to the High Point Enterprise[1] in 1948; the newspaper owned the stations until 1953. The station was religious in the 1960s and then played Top 40. [2] In 1974, the FM station was purchased by the Bible Broadcasting Network for $650,000 as its second station.[3]

On October 28, 1986, just before a fund-raiser, the WHPE studios were damaged by an arson fire.
