Ted Lasso is an American sports comedy television series developed by Bill Lawrence, Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt, and is a continuation of the character Sudeikis portrayed in a series of promos for NBC Sports' coverage of the Premier League. It premiered on Apple TV+ on August 14, 2020.[1]

Premise

American college football coach Ted Lasso is recruited to coach an English football team, despite having no experience.

Production

The series was commissioned in October 2019 by Apple TV+, with Jason Sudeikis reprising his role as Lasso. Sudeikis co-created alongside Bill Lawrence.[4]
