The Netherlands were present at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999, held in Jerusalem. Marlayne represented the country with the song "One Good Reason".

Before Eurovision

National final

Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), has in past years, held a national final to select their entry. The final was held on 14 March 1999 at the NOS TV Studios in Hilversum, hosted by Paul de Leeuw and Linda de Mol. 10 songs sang in the final and, using a 50/50 combination of jury voting and televoting, the winner was decided to be Marleen van den Broek, better known as Marlayne, with the song "One Good Reason".
