The Academy for Law and Public Safety is a vocational magnet public high school that prepares students for careers as lawyers and other law related fields. This academy is a satellite academy located in Butler, New Jersey, United States, on the campus of Butler High School, operating as a satellite program of the Morris County Vocational School District.
As of the 2015-16 school year, the school had an enrollment of 85 students and 6.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.1:1. There were 9 students (10.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 3 (3.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.[1]
Awards, recognition and rankings
Schooldigger.com ranked the school as one of 16 schools tied for first out of 381 public high schools statewide in its 2011 rankings (the school was not included in the 2010 ranking) which were based on the combined percentage of students classified as proficient or above proficient on the language arts literacy (100.0%) and mathematics (100.0%) components of the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA).[2]
