Avrom Yanovsky (1911–1979) was a Canadian editorial cartoonist. His cartoons were printed as early as the 1930s.[1] Most of his cartoons were printed in Canadian Tribune. He also illustrated left wing publications like the screenplay for Eight Men Speak. His works have been shown in galleries in Ontario.[1] Yanovsky's archives may be in the process of being donated to the Library Archives Canada.[citation needed]
Yanovsky was appointed as the editor of the English section of Vochenblatt in 1958.[2]
His son was musician and restaurateur Zalman Yanovsky.
Early life
Yanovsky was born in 1911 in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada with his family when he was two.[3]
