Romar Benjamin Gil Aguilar (born October 6, 1972) is a former Major League Baseball utility player.

Career

Gil made his Major League Baseball debut with the Texas Rangers on April 5, 1993. Since being released by the Anaheim Angels just after the start of the 2003 season, Gil has signed contracts with the Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, and Seattle Mariners, but failed to make the Major League roster of any of these teams.

Gil was a member of the Anaheim Angels team that won the 2002 World Series by defeating the San Francisco Giants.

Gil played for the Tomateros de Culiacán in the Mexican Pacific League for 13 seasons throughout his career. He later became manager of the club, winning two championships during the 2014-15 and 2017-18 seasons.

Personal life

Gil and his wife Carly reside in Keller, Texas with their two children, Mateo and Gehrig. Mateo was drafted in the third round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.[1]
