Birmingham Curzon Street railway station is a planned High Speed 2 terminus station in the city centre of Birmingham, England. One of four stations in Phase One of the project, it will have seven terminal platforms and is planned to open in 2026. [2]

The station will include a pedestrian link to Birmingham Moor Street and Midland Metro and Sprint bus services will connect it with interchange at New Canal Street. [3]

Birmingham City Council plans to use the location of the new station to promote development within the city, especially the redevelopment of the Eastside and Digbeth areas.[4]

Site

It will be built partially on the former site of the first station serving London to Birmingham trains, Curzon Street railway station. The remaining original entrance stone building, now a Grade I listed building will be incorporated into the design, as will the neighbouring Grade II listed pub The Woodman.[5] The Fox & Grapes pub in Park Street was demolished as part of the redevelopment.[6]
