California City Correctional Center is a privately owned prison for men, operated by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to house a maximum of 2304 state inmates at Level II security (low-medium security). The facility is leased from its owner, Corrections Corporation of America, [1] and stands in California City, Kern County, California.

The facility first opened in 2006, and previous housed federal inmates for the U.S. Marshal Service and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.[2]
