Course of events

On August 24, 2022, Russian troops struck the railway station.

Initially, it became known that 15 people died from the strike, and another fifty were injured. Subsequently, the number of those killed increased to 22. Of the 22 people, five people were burned alive in their car. Rescuers are working on the scene.

One of the rockets hit a private house and covered in debris a woman and two children aged 13 and 11. Local residents were able to pull a woman and a 13-year-old boy out of the debris alive. Rescuers pulled the 11-year-old boy from the rubble already dead.

Reactions

During his speech at the UN, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted: "Four passenger cars are on fire. At the moment, at least 15 people have been killed and about 50 injured. Rescuers are working. But, unfortunately, the number of dead may increase. This is how we live every day. This is how Russia prepared for this meeting of the UN Security Council".[4]
