China Grove is an unincorporated community in northwest Brazoria County, Texas, United States, located 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Rosharon, 12 miles (19 km) north of Angleton and west of Texas State Highway 288.[1] China Grove was named for a plantation constructed by Warren_D._C._Hall and later owned by Albert_Sidney_Johnston. It was named for a cluster of chinaberry trees planted for shade.
