2024 Bangladesh Internet Blackout[1] occured in response to the 2024 Bangladesh quota reform movement, when Sheikh Hasina's brutal regime ordered internet to be shut down across the country.[2][3] The nationwide shutdown of Internet access begun on 18 July. Accordingly, on 24 July, broadband internet were restored. On 28 July, mobile internet was restored,[4] but although social media websites like Facebook, Instagram continued to be blocked. On 31 July, social media websites like Facebook was restored. On 4 August, the government ordered to shutdown 4G networks but on 5 August, after Hasina resigned, 4G networks were restored.
