This is a list of episodes for the professional wrestling television series called WWE SmackDown. WWE SmackDown and WWE Friday Night SmackDown is an American professional wrestling television program that is produced by WWE. The company started out the series as WWF before they had change names to the WWE after being sued by the World Widelife Fund with a lawsuit over the WWF trademark. The second name of the company would become World Wrestling Entertainment which started on May 6, 2002.[1] The last name of the company would become just the initials of WWE only and it became official on April 7, 2011.[2] The series has had various names throughout the shows history. Those names were WWF SmackDown, WWE SmackDown, WWE Friday Night SmackDown and WWE SmackDown Live.[3] [4] [5]
