Ronan Summers (born February 12th, 1983), is an Irish-Russian-American Voice and Film Actor who is most noted for his extensive voice acting roles, from video games amassing over 100 million gamers per month, to film, such as the Mission Impossible franchise and Guardians of the Galaxy. Recently, his most notable work has been as the voice for Scott Tyler, a fictional character who has been involved in all of Forza Horizon's video game installments.[1]

His other work includes his original voice on several series podcasts (Dan Allen Gaming Podcast, The Filmmakers Podcast and more), writing, producing and directing the TV short Blue Collar Britain, and being a character model for the fictional game character Simon Arish, in the popular video game Control.

As of 2024, Summers has been a cast-member of (22) TV series and (21) films; a critical voice artist of (56) video games; staff writer of (1) major-feature film and original voice of more than (5) podcast and short-productions.

Early Life

[edit]

Ronan Summers was born in Ireland on February 12th, 1983 to an Irish father and a Russian-American mother. Because of his mother and father's upbringing across two countries, the United States and Ireland, Summers spent most of his childhood frequently traveling between the two countries to visit his extended family.

Summers' parents divorced when he was three-years-old, and this separation caused Summers to reside with his mother in New York, NY. His father remained in Ireland during this time.

Throughout Summers' childhood, his mother would allow him to travel as an Unaccompanied minor to Ireland to be with his father, during holidays. When Summers approached his teenage years, his father expressed desire for Summers to reside long-term in Dublin, so that he would remain deeply rooted in his Irish roots, and with both his mother and father's approval, Summers relocated to Ireland and continued schooling there.

After finishing high-school, Summers was accepted to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, in Wales, UK, and graduated in 2004 with a Baccalaureate of Arts in Acting, with Honors. After graduating, Summers began his career in London, England.

Career

[edit]

After graduating the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2004, Summers moved to London, England with hopes of landing acting roles. While struggling to land supporting or lead-actor roles in London, Summers found an entertainment niche in voice acting that would land him with a wealth of gig opportunity.

His first proper role was as a cast-member on the popular Welsh TV series, Caerdydd, where he played Myfyrwr, in 2006. He then landed vocal work for the video game, Viva Piñata as Cows the same year, and the following year he was a staff writer for the American-film, I Could Never Be Your Woman, who starred A-List celebrities Michelle Pfeiffer, Paul Rudd and Saoirse Ronan. Summers continued the next year-and-a-half working in other TV series and video game work until he landed a role in the globally successful and critically acclaimed, The Dark Knight, where he played a prisoner.

Summers achieved more than five working roles in year 2008, and as of 2009, was successful in two voice acting roles, two cast member roles in major-feature films, a staff writer for a major-feature film and a cast-member for four different TV series.

At the beginning of 2009, he played as a car dealer for the short-film Dubplate Drama, and played as Rakan and Star Guardian Rakan in the successful video game, League of Legends. As of 2012, League of Legends had amassed more than 32-million players per month, and to date, there are over 130-million active gamers who play League of Legends, per month[2].

League of Legends was not the only highly-remarkable game that Summers has voiced in. He went on to voice as a zombie, handyman and town man in Alan Wake; PFC David Montes in Battlefield 3 and other voices in Battlefield 4; Scott Tyler in all five of the Forza Horizon game series; Agent One, Richard Wesley and an Allied Soldier in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood; voices in Guitar Hero Live; Need for Speed, Star Wars: Battlefront, Battlefield 2042, Cyberpunk 2077 and many more.
